I'd like to say I really appreciate your videos. Most nailtechs I know, get pissed when other nail techs share "free" information. There'll always be people that try things themselves and I rather have them try it with good information, than without and completely destroying their's and other people's nails.
We gotta work on good vibes and collaboration in the nail industry, I completely agree that sharing knowledge is so important!!
Well said.
I also wanted to add that not everyone can afford to go to school. I was quoted a price, well over what I paid to get licensed for skin. In my state, skin is more hours in school than nails. Couldn’t believe how much they wanted for a program that is literally 15% less hours. I plan on signing up for some of Anastasia’s courses. However, I go to her CZcams A LOT for troubleshooting when I’m learning on myself and a trainer hand.
Thanks Anastasia!
Yes so many people are not okay with constructive criticism but I say there is always room for us to grow.
We gotta be more okay with people trying to help make us better.
@@hopelltt why do some manicurist not paint the sidewalls all the way? I think it looks tacky...just mop
Why do I find it so satisfying watching all that dead skin get removed by an e-file bit? Now you see it, now you don’t. It’s mesmerizing.
I could watch it all day! 😆
It is not a e-file bit
Same
I thought I was the only one😂
@@jazmariechacon8422 add what it is correctly to you?
Wish I could find such a perfectionist nail tech in my city
same
@patsonaki / Me too. They’re always in a such a hurry and do crap work $100 later. I’ve started doing it myself.
I was doing almost all of these mistakes which explains why I have struggled with my cuticles and sidewalls! Thank you so much for sharing!
Same !!! I messed up my cuticles BADDD & I GOT ORETTY HANDS & iva here can't even DO nails ,cuz I've been having to heal ,I got cuts, scrapes, roughness u name it horrible I messed myself up way too many times with the e file with the sanding but on top of it ,cuz I got so sick of filing by hand 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣🙃🙃🙃🥴🥴🥴🥴😩😩😩😩
Me too! This explains some of the problems I've experienced with my nails and cuticles as well. Although I don't have an e-file (yet) I've over picked my side walls with cuticle trimmers trying to cut hang nails off and stuff. I don't know If she'll see this but is there a way to regrow your side walls with out getting hang nails?? Do I need to moisturize my hands more?? Does anyone know.
@@TinaThatsMi Lots and lots of cuticle oil! I mix my own... about ¾ jojoba oil and ¼ vitamin E oil. If I'm having cuticle problems, I apply it *many* times a day. If everything is fine, I apply it morning and night. I get empty cuticle oil pens from Amazon; it makes it so easy to apply and carry in a purse or pocket.
I apply it, and let it soak in instead of rubbing it in. (Unless I have to use my hands of course, but I usually do it when I'm watching TV and can sit still for a while.) Within a couple of days, I see improvement. With continued frequent use, your cuticles and sidewalls will soon be healthy and beautiful.
@@Katatawnic OMG, Thank You!!! I know it's been a minute since I left this comment. But thank you sooo much for responding. 😊🤗 I so appreciate you taking the time to help. I will definitely start doing that. 😊
There's a lot of techs that need to be watching this video with all 4 eyes!
I'm finna be supadupa at electrical filing I never get the damaged nail but you can only make me better 😍 thanks !
Most nail techs file away tons of new nail plate, so when they grow, they will be ultra thin. Thank you very much for not going back and growing my own natural nails, and for my cuticles every day oil care and slightly push them back there is nothing to cut. They are healthy and my nails have a natural thickness.
@@carolinesmeenge2984 can only be grateful ! 😍 & I need to oil everyday Thanks
@@carolinesmeenge2984 I hate it when they file too much!!!
LOVE the quality camera work and super-duper closeups...really helps.
Yes ive made the mistake off over filing to a point my nails were so sore and paper thin boy did I learn my lesson
Ugh that hurts a lot! I have thin sensitive nails so I kinda shy with the drills and e-files because I once have my natural nails over filed. It was like having bad second degree sunburns on my nail beds.
@@Mtz2604 ouch! Some of the Asian salons really rely on their drill. And now they're doing it with pedicure too. Instead of buffing the toenail, they're using the sanding attachment to smooth it down! I
hate this..and that drilling.
@@aimeekrieg9932 yeah, I don't think the drill is the issue because there's some bids that are used only to buff the nail. The russian manicure technique is quite cool. But when you see videos that use the russian technique and they know what they're doing, the execution is flawless and they don't over file the nail.
Thank you so much for this information. Apparently I was doing all the mistakes. I learned so much.
Brenda V girl you are not alone it is 6 am & I don’t have to be to work until 9:30 😫 lol I’m trying to really grasp the small things because they make such a big difference in our work !
@@BriaTashae1992 q
Me too! I already did the same side wall damage to my nail like she mentioned 😩 I was totally using tht pointed nail bit wrong.
I’m self-taught💓 I’ve always filed by hand which takes forever. I finally purchased a drill so I needed this. I’m going back to doing my own nails now. Going to look into your courses
Wonderful!
Is so cool to achieve that new knowledge of the many techniques available right now. I hope you can keep learning!
We were taught at my college to do all the cuticle cutting by hand and it takes SO long. My clients get annoyed at me I think 😂 also the accidental nips with the cuticle cutters. I always feel terrible when they get little nicks
Is a drill better/safer/quicker please? Because I've really been considering one
I used to do them as a teenager around 15++ then stop for MANY MANY years, now @52 been collecting ,doing ALL kinds of nails stuff again & having fun too 😁,I'm doing all kinds, acrylic, poly gels, etc etc etc ,& buying rhinestones,,foils, bits, brushes, nail polish liners ( the tiny ones with the tiny brush ,all kinds of stuff lol ohh the new glitter acrylics or dios, just so so much fun & things aren't exspensive ,you can get great things for not much money at all ,just little by little I get things 😁🙃🤗
@@jadewillis1892 just use the ,push one that has the blade on it ,SO MUCH better ,you know the stick thing & at the end it's kinda split into 2 & down the middle is a blade ,use that for your cuticles or yes a e file I guess 🤷♀️
Me watching this video after using my $9 e-file from Walmart: .... oh
You have truly done a fantastic job in your videos on teaching e-file techniques. I am self-taught and all these years, I was never using my e-file to my advantage to take care of my cuticle issues. Thank you for highlighting the use of the flame-shaped bit in your videos and the proper way to clear the cuticle without damaging the matrix or natural nail. I love your channel!!
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS HELPED ME.. THANKYOU
Oh my you taught me all I have been doing incorrectly and I will stop It now. I am learning so much from you. Thank you.
Thank you, I am new to drill filing, and I've already over filed my nails, that is why I am here.
I for one am so grateful at your detailed explanation of how to do e-filing and using correct bits, I don't know anyone else on CZcams that does that, thank you.
Thank you so much ! I love your teaching skill. I’m trying to learn enough to do my wife’s nails.
That’s so sweet. I wish I could have a husband like you someday :)
I love that
Awwweeeeee😩🥰
I think this was sarcasm 😅... If not , I apologize...
You are one of the best nail educators on CZcams - thank you so much as your videos really help me so much xxx 🤗
Thank you so much, Ruby!
I appreciate all your tips, info and honesty . Its got to be hard to tell someone their last manicurist made a.big mistake! Why do they cut off cuticles...not safe
@@aimeekrieg9932 💯 AGREE I've paid for a manicure before and the girl CUT MY CUTICLES OFF! I left thinking I got a good mani then my nails start burning gurl let me tell you my fingernails were on fire! Had to nurse them back to health never went back to that salon again
Thank you so much for always giving us so much needed information and not just pretty designs! Because a nail can look pretty but if it is not healthy that "pretty" will not last.
I appreciate all the information & guidance you give so freely & willingly, thank you!🤗
Yes I made those mistakes when I was learning and then I started watching you and some other channels showing the proper bets to use and I can’t say that I’m perfect but I’m doing a lot better job thank you honey I always love watching your channel
Definitely helpful. I do my own manicures at home because it is cheaper and I can avoid having to get to know a new nail tech and them getting to know me and what I need. Also, it is safer than sitting in crowded salons and just trusting that the nail tech is properly cleaning everything. (My nail tech moved back to his home country and I was a little nervous with anyone new so I was super picky after him)
But one thing I rarely, if at all, ever touch is my cuticles. He always did them so well and I'm not trained so the first time I messed them up, I left them alone and worked around them. It just doesn't look as nice. This video is super helpful as I mentally prepare to tackle them again!
I just love watching the cuticle care process.
This is so. Helpful. I tried this bit out last night and rewatching this video I understand more what you mean by using the side of the flame bit, not the tip.
Thank you so much!
Thank u Anastasia ... i've been in a special seminar with a Russian teacher but they didn't mention anything about skin types😥 I have overfiled my nail sidewalls during practice to myself. Thank u so much again
Some really good information there. Doing e-file manicure is one of my favourite things to do during a service.
I've began doing my nails and my nieces nails this year and this video has by far been the best one I've seen on doing the cuticles, which has been my biggest challenge! Thank you for posting such a good video. You're explanations and demonstration is so clear and perfect! Now I know I need to get another bit for clearing that white line after pushing back the cuticle and clearing the dead skin off the nail bed!!!
I am an esthetician and so, the only time I use an e-file is when I am removing a gel polish. However, I have had those clients with such hard, dry cuticles that my nippers just wouldn't do. This video was so well done, I think I have more confidence to try using an e-file for the job. Thank you so much!
This is great advise you cant go wrong with these guidelines. Yes I've gone overboard with the trimmings before but on myself now its baby steps lol. Thank you for a great tutorial 🙋♀️
Hands down best tutorial for common mistakes in this area. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us :)
This is my first time setting one of your videos. I've never worked with any of these tools before, I've only just bought them and glad I have taken the time to watch this video. I will subscribe!
Найду вас везде, все ваши Каналы на ютубе, потому что вы супер мастер 👍🏽
Totally think this is something I'm doing wrong! I'm still a complete beginner but your video has been really helpful! Thank you Anastasia!
I'm Brazilian and im glad that Ifound your videos ❤️ You're such a good professional and I can learn and understand very well what you're saying cuz your english is so clear, thank youuuu
Omg, those photos at the beginning!!! I had a girl file my nails down until they were paper thin, and I thought about burning down her shop. I hope she watches this and never destroys anyone’s hands again.
But why did you let her though??
@@TruuColorZ that’s something I don’t understand with people getting their nails done, they just let these people abuse nails/hands, say nothing, tip them (when they don’t deserve it) then complain afterwards, like why? why do people let nail techs treat them that way, I don’t get it
@lovelyrosebw well I’m incredibly nervous around people and don’t like confrontation, and don’t like to complain. So it can be really hard to speak up about it
@@kusuosaiki6029 that is 100% a reality. Some people take advantage of that as well.
@@TruuColorZ it was a “full service spa”, not just a nail place. I was getting a mani, pedi, and facial at once. Everything else was great, but the owner was apparently sitting in for a girl out sick, and I was her first victim. There was LOTS of cussing and screaming. I got the entire package ($540) for free and she offered to fix them for free, but I wasn’t willing.
This was very helpful. Didn't know that for different skin type there is different attachment we should use. Haven't started using it yet, after this I will definitely.
This is an excellent video. I have been doing nails many years and still struggle with cuticles. One thing I may try is the cuticle scissors as opposed nippers. Thank you for putting these videos out. They really help.
This was one of the best videos I've watched on this subject! I am shocked at some of the things that I did wrong just last night on my nails and actually a little proud of myself for a few. 😁 I am definitely going to look at the links she referred to!!!
I'm trying to learn as much as I can about doing my nails properly. This video has been a great help. Thanks
my nail tech lady here in Budapest is also called Anastasiia and I don’t know what I’d do without her, she introduced me to the Russian technique and I don’t think I could ever go back to any other... ❤️
But it's not Russian technique. It's worldwide.
I appreciate how educational your video is! As someone new to this, I find it really helpful that you're sharing the Do's and Don'ts. It can get exhausting seeing so many videos focusing on fancy nails. Just wanted to take a moment and say a big "Thank you!"❤🎉❤
Glad it was helpful!
I'm new to doing my own nails and this video is immensely helpful! Thank you!
Yes I have made those mistakes thankfully it was on myself and I am getting my confidence in efile, I am now in school and I am so excited to become a professional nail technician
"...have you done any of these mistakes..." Well, NO! I have never done ANY of these mistakes...I've done ALLLLLLLL of them. I used to be thee best at making mistakes. I watched your video now I will be better. Thanks so very much SUBSCRIBED IMMEDIATELY!! 💖💖
This video is so thoughtful! As a beginner nail tech this is super helpful!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thank you for this video, i had to stop getting my nails done because my tech uses the same file on all , says its her favorite, but i had noticed that I have soft cuticles /also she files my new growth and nails grow roughly around the cuticle. I am treating my nails from the dip…my nails beds are so thin that water hurts my nails. I am so disappointed that these techs us the same techniques for all clients. I am so happy to have found your channel.
Thanks for this video! I use Russian style cuticle care on all my clients. When trimming the cuticle with the round bit, turn up the the RPM. Works like a charm.
Thank you! I just bought my first e-file for home use. This just saved me. I was already making rookie mistakes. 😳
Wow! Loved this! Thank you for sharing this with us all!! ♥️
I love how you explain everything and want to learn more
Nice! Thank you for sharing! I am not a pro...I just do my own nails at home, but I am brand new to the nail machine and bits and learning how to correctly use them. I've done my nails using the machine and bit twice, but I've been doing it all wrong! 🥺 At least I did it wrong on myself. Live and learn! Again, thank you so much! This was very helpful!
I thought I was ready and went ahead and used the efile to prep my sister's nails, friend's and my own nails and I made all of these mistakes. I'm going to look up your classes!
this makes so much sense and looks really beautiful, satisfying to watch :)
Thank you for posting!!! I didn't realize that I tend towards using the sharp point bit to lift my cuticles 😫 (don't do it anymore!!) And on the side edges of my nails and always wondered why they were so thin/fragile/flakey... I think it's time to take a course so I stop damaging my nails...
This was so informative! Thank you so much!!!
I'm still learning cosmetology and have been doing simple gel manicures at home as practice but I am TERIFFIED of using an e-file. I don't wanna burn or hurt myself nor someone else by accident so these types of videos really help me learn a tiny bit before my first manicure lessons start!
Put lots of acrylic on a fake finger and go to town. Learn how to hold it and go fast. That's what I did during COVID lock down and I learned so much about the bits and file itself
I ruined my natural nails with electric drill and wrong type of monomer take your time and buy the right products
it’s all about pressure and speed with an e-file. the melody susie drill is great for beginners and you can buy many drill bits for it. don’t apply too much pressure, don’t keep the drill bit anywhere on the nail for more than 3 seconds, always keep the drill moving and on a higher speed. if you’re applying too much pressure while the drill is on a lower speed, you’ll not only damage the natural nail but you’ll feel a heat spike on your nail.
Thank you sooo much for doing this video. I went to nail school, and didn’t learn any of this. I greatly appreciate this video.
So helpful! Excellent. Yes, I mangled my cuticles when I started doing my own nails. I am still finding the right way to do it. I’m not a nail technician.
I so much enjoy your calm voice accent and all. I learn so much more information from you… I just want to know how to do my nails right and perhaps my daughters also.
The absolute best nail instruction channel, I feel like a better nail technician with every second I spend watching your videos! Thank you so much
Thank you ! 😘
Thank you so much for your amazing tutorials and courses!
I am just learning now and YOU are MAGNIFICENT. Thank you for all your tutorials.
You are so welcome!
Oh i was doing most of these, but with a kiss brand nail drill... So happy i found this b4 i got an actual nail drill ❤i saved this so can look back at it when i get mine.
Thank you , I am still perfecting my e file.
Попался ваш ролик, мне нравится узнавать новое, в том числе маникюрный лексион) успехов! 🎉
Thank you so much. I have made all these mistakes. Great video
This woman is GOOD
I love this . Helped so much and learned so much I didn’t know about thanks .
This was very informative! Thank you. I see mistakes i was doing with the side wall. I used to have lots of cracking and now I see why. My cuticles are extremely dry and so the side walls always look cracked and overgrown so I try and remove as much of the dead skin as possible with the drill leading to thin side walls. I think now I'll simply try cutting the dead skin in that area vs using the drill. Thank you 😊
Nnnnjng
Excellent information! Thank you!
I have made these mistakes, I’m still learning 💐
This was by far the best video I’ve seen about providing cuticle care, thank you
I won't switch to e-file until i've learned how to prep nails safely. I do overlay for myself and i use hand file which is easier to control as a beginner :)
I enjoy your videos so much. Have learnt a lot from you, thank you
Your videos help so much
I have over filed my sidewalls using a nail file. I'm greatful to find out what I have been doing wrong. Thank you!
I did all of them. Lol. So glad I found your channel. Just searched Russian manicure n bam. I want to get one but scared techs may say they know and don’t!
I've been doing many of these mistakes. That's because of poor initial training. I've always wondered why I have to work so long on nail prep and this is why. Thank you for further and correctly educating me.
Hola

Excellent video. This was very informative. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! It definitely helped me to understand a few more things and thankfully I do not overdose 😉 and I won’t overrule even more with this knowledge! Thanks again!
I love this video. I bought new cuticle bits but they haven’t worked for me really so I’m going to try these ways of trimming.
Wonderfully informative. Thank you
Such amazing tips! Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Amazing advice! Thank you so much for sharing🙂

This is really interesting and helpful, thank you!
I LOVE YOU!! Thank you for all the information.
Thank you so much sweetie. Really needed these tips👍
Tyvmfs💖
Thanks I will follow your instructions
Thanks for sharing! I got some bits like these and i didn't use them because I didn't know they were for cuticles! I am not professional but do my own nails at home with a low power e file.
Very informative I've been looking for a video like this one😍💖
you help soo much thank you !!!
