Regardless of the outcome of the strike ( I hope they succeed), Mick Lynch has changed the dynamic in the British economy for good in all probability. Without effective union leadership things are not going to improve on their own. Power does not make concessions willingly. The RMT leader has provided more education on the realities of hard line capitalism's impact on workers in the last few days in interviews than almost anybody else in the last decade. Not only has he made the case lucidly for the rail industry but he has put it in the wider context of the bigger picture applicable to millions of others who are subjected to downward pressure on their wages year on year. The biggest cut to living standards in 50 years and average weekly wages on course to have increased by £18 a week by 2025 compared to 2008. Yet still the workers vote against their own self interest under FPTP. Time to wake up.

This action will only serve to accelerate the their demise and if the union was actually acting in the best interests of their members it would be looking at the issue of automation and trying to find new avenues of work where jobs will inevitably be lost. Unions have to change and they can't hold the public to ransom like they once did. the public will turn on them, especially if they are relatively well paid. He also had a gold plated pension and was easily the richest man in this country pub. Can clearly see the contempt from Mick Lynch towards this Torie minister. Wonderful to watch and listen too. Mick is an extremely well educated, honest, informed working man. Not matter who comes his way regardless of status if cross the line of respect Mick swiftly provides them with a hard lesson on how to communicate. Wonderful.

The right-wing media will help the Tories paint the unions as the 'enemy within' same as Thatcher did with the miners, it's their standard playbook.. Also don't forget the Government were 'appalled' by P&O when they said they were going to use agency staff, but now they are proposing using agency staff to fulfil the rail posts during the strike.

The trick to being a skilful politician is : to never directly answer the question straight away so as to try and dumb found whoever you are talking to and then bring in meaningless figures and amounts of money spent by that government and hopefully the questionaire moves onto another question. Mick skill fully doesn’t fall for this trap. Hence Mick repeatedly calling the junior minister ‘a liar’ fifteen times. Bravo Mick👏👏👏

Oh my goodness! Watch the way in which the presenter desperately attempts to prevent Mick Lynch from calling out lies, and enables the Conservative minister to state more of them. Then, instead of allowing Mick Lynch to cite and refute each lie, she attempts to ask him a distraction question... based upon the lie she had just been told by the minister. Then... she cuts him off and goes back to the minister and begins asking a totally different question as if he hadn't been caught lying! She never even asks for someone to verify any of the statements that have been made! It is truly appalling.
