Being Catholic Is Hard

- Being Catholic is hard.
Very hard.
Harder than any other religion, and certainly harder then other form of Christianity
There are rules that don't exist in other christian churches.
In Catholicism you have to go to mass under pain of mortal sin, confess your sins to a priest,
Submit to an earthly authority especially on matters of doctrine, and realize that good works are part of the salvation process which takes a lifetime to accomplish.
While in other churches all you have to do is believe, the rest of your personal doctrine is determined by your personal interpretation of scripture, you can go to church whenever you want, and salvation is a one time event.
Being Catholic isn't hard but being a faithful Catholic is a test of incredible fortitude and courage.
Being Russian Orthodox is easier, it's part of the law to be drunk on vodka all day.
Amen 🙏
Not when it comes to avoiding heresy and avoiding mortal sins
Well said.
Christ died once, salvation is a one time thing. It says born again, not again and again and again. To be a good Christian is to follow the commandments.
When I joined the church 2 years ago I was ridiculed and mocked by my own family for joining the “pagan evil church.” The “harlot of the earth.” Yet I have never experienced such truth and beauty as I have inside the mass or in confession.
For my family it was “the church of child molesting pedophiles”.
Your family is right. But then again, child abuse is a thing in all religions.@@jessica_wood
@@kevinkelly2162 luckily most of the gays have left the priesthood now that it’s being pushed openly on the world. So less and less abuse scandals will be around in our faith.
@@jessica_wood Many prots don't realise that many of the child abuse cases come from protestant churches.
Welcome home. Be steadfast. Be brave. Be eloquent.
I'm a terrible Catholic. Pray for me.
If we're honest, aren't we all? The holier we become, the more we realize the horror of sin. Praying for you and all of us who fall short. 🙏
Never give up hope and trust in the mercy of our Lord. Frequent the sacraments, avoid occasions of sin: people, places, and things. Have a true devotion to the mother of God to her rosary, brown scapular of Mount Carmel, and the Fatima message. The spiritual exercises of meditation, spiritual reading, and deep prayer life, especially Eucharistic adoration will make you a Great Catholic.
Be brave. Be humble. Be steadfast. Pray and dont worry.
Most of us are. That is the exact reason why we venerate our saints. They are the gold standard. Let us always ask them to pray for us. To inspire us to to always aim high. Unlike the nobel prize, we never aspire to be put on a pedestal in this world. We aspire to inspire others to be like Christ. Pray for each other. We live in fallen world... that is our reality. Love is our only salvation
The virtue of humility is great with in you dear friend by your admittance.
Begin by praying your Holy Rosary to Our Lady daily...the Angelus Prayer as well..and wear your Sacramentals. Then marvel at the blessings and changes that will occur in your life. Frequent use of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist. And listen and obey the voice of the Holy Spirit with in you. You are not alone dear brother in Christ. And yes I shall pray for you on this journey. For I need those prayers myself.
I’m in the process of converting and I’ve already had to defend Catholicism so many times when I’m not even fully Catholic yet. Most of my friend group was from my old church and as soon as I started thinking about converting it was nonstop questioning and grilling Catholic doctrines that I haven’t even learned yet. And now with the recent stuff regarding the Pope, I’m getting questioned on that as well.
It would have been so easy to just remain in my old church. But I can’t ignore what I know to be true. Pray for my strength.
Edit: since a lot of people keep coming across this comment, I’d also like to ask that you pray for my sister. I found out recently she’s been trying to practice paganism and I haven’t had a chance to talk to her about it.
You don't have to answer to them unless you want to.
You are not alone.
My family will pray for your journey. May the Holy Spirit accompany you through all the obstacles. Being a faithful Catholic is not easy. But with His Graces flowing from the Sacraments from His Church, the burden is indeed light. Even as the Church is facing many challenges as She has throughout the millennia. Please pray also for our brothers and sisters who are testifying for the faith with their blood.

1 Peter 3:15
Get used to hearing and reading anti-Catholic remarks. I have taught myself to ignore it. Welcome to the church! I was confirmed in April this year 🙏🙏🙏
"...take up your cross and follow me." That's how to live as a Catholic. All true as you are elaborating. Thanks!🤓👍
Exactly what I tell anyone who will listen. Being Catholic is very difficult, a very tough life to live, but extremely rewarding. Great video, sir. I agreed with all of your points.
to Catholics: YOU ARE IN A DEAD RELIGION!
Mother Mary is dead and among the dead, worship not the dead neither demons.
Soul, REPENT. you are in dark, influenced by evil, as you sound to disturb the dead.
Only CHRIST JESUS raise from the dead and LIVES again and forever. Seek CHRIST, leave Mary alone.
I say the same thing. Done right, it is a hard road. But, I wouldn't change a thing about it! 😊❤😊
My new job has been a serious pain on my mental and physical well being. I really dont want to go to work right after mass but i will go anyways. Pray for me friends
Edit: Thanks for the prayers and supportive comments i will carry my rosary with me to work from now on and say the prayers mentally. God bless you all
God bless
Praying for you now, carry a rosary with you at work, say it in your head while at work, you'll find great peace.
Consider working elsewhere
I was in a similar place just a year ago. The grueling anxiety of my new job almost paralyzed me. A year later I have the most peace I’ve had in life. I went to confession and got in touch with my local priest and he guided me through the difficult times from a spiritual perspective. Don’t be afraid to ask your local priest for help, it changed my life. I’m here for you too, better days are coming I promise
I'm in the same situation. I go to 7:45 am mass and have to be at work at 10 on Sundays. If I didn't have a mortgage and need benefits, I'd be somewhere else. Where I live, it's hard to find a job with a living wage.
As a recent Protestant convert to Catholicism, whos watched probably all of your videos, this by far was my favorite one. You did a great job on this! It is just what I needed with all the stuff happening in the church and has definitely given me strength to continue on my journey. God bless and thank you!
God bless you. I think it is especially difficult for a new believer to accept the truth of the Catholic Faith in view of the Church's current tribulation.
Welcome home and keep fighting the good fight! You are not alone
Same with me starting my rcia and deep study. A lot of backlash from southern baptist and lukewarm family that somehow have a opinion about my walk.
God bless you. We need more Catholics like you!❤
Welcome home. Be strong and live the path despite all odds.
It always makes me sad when people refuse to join the church over its requirements. The whole point of joining a church is to adhere to God’s will, repent and worship.
I was a once saved always saved baptist prot and started deeply learning about Catholicism because I agreed with the Filioque. Now im taking a deep dive and told my close family about it. Already met with pushback but i wont be taken from the truth. Like u said ill lose my family before I lose the truth
Edit:I went to mass Christmas eve and day! Hopefully i get into rcia classes soon!!
Praying for you brother-in-christ! 🙏
Welcome to the Church our Lord started
This was my experience, exactly. I am a former Baptist minister, who became a Catholic while attending a Baptist Bible College. While earning a bachelors degree in theology, my last year and a half, I became a Catholic, while attempting to prove the Catholic Church, was in error. I was drilled by Baptist every day. I think God for it. A Protestant friend told me, “you were formed in a cauldron“. In other words, you are hardened for battle.
Thank God… Because you will be formed in a cauldron, too.
@@harleymann2086 Protestant converts make the very best Catholics because they earned it! You took the time to investigate. Bravo!!! Too many "cradle Catholics" take the Church and our Lord in the Eucharist for granted. God bless you!
@@richardounjian9270 Ironic, is it not? It’s like Italians who live with the history and architecture of Rome, see all of this beauty, and just tam it for granted. The rest of us look at one building all day and we sit in “awe”. May God Bless you and yours this Christmas
I was brought up Catholic but left for protestantism in my 20s. I have come back home to Catholicism for the last 6 months because honestly I wasn't getting closer to God at all being a Baptist. God started me on a path to think about the way I was worshiping Him and submitting to him. So I began back at the church and started veiling whenever I am praying or at church. Saying the rosary again has been an amazing way to build my connection with Him and Mary. I am so happy to be back home.
Welcome home! ❤
Welcome home. Be steadfast in your journey.
Former Baptist Minister, here. The Mass or Byzantine Liturgy (Eastern Catholic) is so deep; it is like being in a Time Machine. In once sense, you are transported back to the time of the Crucifixion, then you are with “all of rheumatoid arthritis Angels and the Saints” in heaven eating the Last Supper. Then you can spend time with the Father and the Son, and Our Mother, and go back into the world. Man, this is just the beginning. No wonder we believe I. The transformation of the person. How can you not be transformed when entering deeper into the Kingdom of God?
Me too! Left then came back and loving it!
My friend the pope just blessed reprobates, in Genesis God called them certain sons of the devil.
Neither Frank, nor any mindless bishop or priest or politician will ever drive me from Christ's Church.
Agreed. Christ's PROMISE was that the gates of hell will NEVER prevail against it.
Sadly much of my family has left the church or are lukewarm Catholics. My wife, children and myself are diehard TLM Catholics. I still pray for those family and others who have left the church. I was born Catholic, live Catholic and will die Catholic with God willing a rosary and scapular on me. Scandals within the leadership will not change what I know to be true.
Love the TLM!
Right there with you.
I'm in RCIA and have no intention in going back from whence I came ❤
❤😇🙏
Welcome home. Be blessed.
God bless you!!!❤❤❤
What I love about our beautiful faith is that everytime I walk into a church I know he is there in the tabernacle and when I receive him in his body God is in union with me and has forgiven my sins.
You know christ is always with you right?
Thank you. Cant be catholic and be of the world. No compromise. Cannot serve two masters
Be willing to suffer and die for Christ Church. He never promised us an easy life.
I grew up protestant and never really gave it much thought. I went down a rabbit hole of apologetics videos and once I started really looking into it I could not deny what I had learned. Now I'm seeking RCIA.
Thank you for your voice for reason. Remember everyone that faith and actions together is at the heart of our Catholic faith. Pray and live the morals.
Amen God bless you brother never never leave Jesus and his Church because of Judas 🙏❤️🙏
I just want to say God Bless you. You’re teaching me so much. I’m still a new Catholic and you are helping me so much with questions I still have. And now I know without a shadow of a doubt that converting from orthodox to catholic is the best thing I’ve done
Catholicism is easy if you know your faith and how to respond, education is key!
Although a cradle Catholic, having attended Catholic Schools, received the Sacraments of Initiation and Holy Matrimony, I only realised late in life how poorly catechised I was. My turning point was retrenchment in my mid-50’s which I realised was God calling me out of slavery and have rekindled my journey to God through Sacred Scripture, reading the Patristic Fathers, reading Vatican documents, committing to a part-time Theology program offered by the Archdiocese, helping in RCIA, accepting the call as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and taking Holy Communion to those in Frail Care each Sunday.
Practicing to live the Gospel daily has enriched and changed me completely.
I believe in One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
Pax Christi
As a very recent revert, it has been an immense struggle. I can't turn away from the Church because I know too much, but I don't have any catholics to turn to for spiritual guidance because I know too much. I feel irreparably damned, but I can't stop hoping in God.
You are not irreparably damned, especially since your Catholic
And God won't stop hoping for you either
Read about St. Margaret of Castello. You'll never wonder if you are alone again. St. Margaret, pray for us.
Welcome home. There can never be an exhaustion of catholic readings. If others know less, instruct them. If others know more, learn from. There are plenty of knowledgible priests and catholics.
@@pemcortes9467 I've barely been back for 2 months and have already been scandalized by a priest in the confessional. I think I need to move.
What really is hard is being a faithful Catholic. Many people go around identifying as Catholic but live more Protestant than Protestants themselves, even as far as mistaking Protestant teachings for Catholic teachings. I know this because I've had them in my parish for years and even had to go into arguments with them about their faulty beliefs.
Saved always saved gospel all it did for me was i kept falling into sin. It was so easy to say Jesus forgave me for that. I know the truth now and it has been a life changing experience. God has done things for me i couldn't possibly do myself. Catholicism has opened my eyes.
This channel changed my life. Thank you Lord
Amen. God bless. Liked and shared.👍✝️🙏
Since I discovered this channel, I’ve watched every episode. What a nice surprise to find this latest installment. Been feeling down lately about the scandals, but at the same time realizing that Catholicism is truly the Church established by Christ as Satan is hell bent on going after the real deal. So inspired by this video!
Here is a List of the worst things I've experienced because of my Faith.
1. My church was vandalized two times
2. A classmate of mine accused my Bishop of Pedophilia with no evidence.
3.My Coworker called the Catholic Church "A Terrorist Organization"
4. every time I bring up Catholicism with Non-Catholics. Someone brings up the sex abuse scandal.
All of this stuff makes me happy when I hear it. Because it always reaffirms that the devil absolutely hates the Church and all that it stands for. Glory to Jesus Christ!
Jesus picked Judas as one of his deciples but judas betrayed him. Those bad priest are just like judas, we cant leave Jesus church just because of judas (bad priest).
Thank you for this today. I was in need of this pep-talk. I hear you loud and clear God your messenger was received and I will be at mass tomorrow AM! Thanks brother in Christ.
Yes - "prosperity gospel" and "once saved always saved" all make "christianity" easy, fun, and "enriching" - literally.
your amazing with these clips sir. GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING
Great video. I am a cradle Catholic and just love it. Love Adoration, daily Mass, the richness, the Saints, mystics etc…but people just won’t be convinced. The vast majority of people today care nothing about God. So what if it’s hard, who wants to burn ETERNALLY. I want to look forward to all the glories of heaven, being with Jesus, Mary, St. Joseph and the rest of the gang. There’s just no other way. Yes, no matter what happens we must NEVER leave the Church. When the Church rises from the ashes she will be stronger! 💕😇🙏
Carry on.
Great video, god bless ❤. I just came back to Catholicism 6 months ago.
I'm so glad you came back!

I’m not catholic, but many of my extended family members are. So, I understand the struggle. I was raised by devout Lutheran parents, but attended catholic school for seven years. Though I didn’t understand everything we were taught in catechism at school back then, now I really appreciate the beauty of the faith. Stay faithful my friends. He (or she) who endures to the end will be saved.
Are you ever going to make a video about other scapulars and sacramentals?
After 30 years of being faithfully and hard-core Protestant / Lutheran, my wife and I are in RCIA to become Catholic. What this man says is true......don't stick with the easy route just because it's the American thing or easy thing to do. Catholicism is the true faith and has been here way before Luther or Calvin or anyone else with their human ideas about God came along.
I love Being Catholic. Easy Living. God gives us all spiritual weapons and sacrements to live in Victory
I have 2 wonderful parents that taught me good values, I'm 40 not and not baptized. I have had no religion in my life, However I have always believed, Iv been going to Mass every Sunday and I try to go to Day masses as well. It's been a beautiful experience for me. However I have had more temptations of sin since going to church.
you feel more temptation because the devil now fears he is losing you
Talk to your church about getting baptized! God just led me through a similar situation. Baptized at 25 years old! Never too late!
But I am certain of this , besides my life , Catholicism was the greatest gift given to me. I'm 80 years.

Very well said! I couldn't agree more. Becoming a Catholic or returning to real Catholicism comes with lots of suffering, sacrifice, mourning and grieving (the Cross).
Last year I let go of Christmas like I knew it when I found out that most of the tradition has pagan roots. And I'm doing the same with Easter. The memories connected to the traditions with the people I once belonged to hurts so bad. And these are only tiny crosses.
being without God is harder.

Above ALL else being a Catholic should instil JOY beyond all measure: St Therese of Lisieux ""I an no longer able to suffer, since all suffering is sweet to me". . . . . . .Matt 11:30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light", Matt 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." , John 19:26-27: "When Jesus saw his Mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his Mother, “Woman, here is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your Mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home. TAKE OUR HOLY MOTHER INTO YOUR "HOME". Matt 26:26 "As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” TAKE OUR BLESSED LORD INTO YOUR HEART AND SOUL AT ALL TIMES, FOR ALL TIME. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." We share in the cross and the absolute joy of the resurrection. satan makes all else "hard", especially and all so sadly for those who have rejected Our Lord's eternal LOVE, in preference for the world- now that's where the true "hardness" resides, a life without Christ, John 10:10 "I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. ... .."translates to an existence devoid of any real HOPE, here or in eternity. MAY THE HOLY SPIRIT ENLIGHTEN ALL, for that we must ardently pray. AVE MARIA!
Great video..Thanks to alot anti catholism i becane a stronger catholic..i investigated their claims ..i love protestants most are just misinformed about catholic beliefs..if i could just believe in Jesus say a 30 sec sinners prayer and be assured salvation no matter how i live my life and not love all my neighbors...yes that would be a piece of cake...i wouldnt be stuggling with all my sins..Asking praying the sinners prayer and repenting almost daily...Glad i do have assurance and yes its only Jesus...if we confess and repent he is merciful to forgive..Thats are blessed assurance...

It takes effort.
To be a nominal Catholic isn't hard at all. But to be a real Catholic is. As a practicing Catholic, I fall into the trap of temptation at times; but each time I fall I don't give up the fight. It took me a decade to really say that I'm now beginning to overcome temptations against chastity although I still fall sometimes. The good thing is that there's the sacrament of reconciliation in the Church, something that protestant churches don't have. I know it because I used to be a Pentecostal/Protestant. The hardest of all the rules in the Catholic Church is the prohibition of contraceptives, pornography, pre-marital and extra-marital sex, abortion, divorce, and even masturbation as well as similar sins against chastity. When I was still a protestant, our pastor didn't emphasize any of these. I thought these are normal as it seems everybody is doing it. It was indeed a lot easier being a Protestant than being a Catholic.
A lot like Islam…
Working to be saved BUT never knowing if you are. Wow,…very comforting
I've experienced this on a small scale. I am unemployed at the moment and someone gave me a chance to work part-time for them but on Sundays. It was tough because I gave up a good deal of money but the person who is a friend of mine, is Muslim and is not fond of catholics so I ended up telling him no. We run a small business together but my share is barely anything and I stay to care for my mom. Needless to say I was tempted but my mom told me she had a sense for me to say no. After praying about it, I realized it wouldn't be beneficial for my faith . Now I'm struggling to say my rosary every day but I'm going to try again.
You are awesome 👌
Keep praying the Rosary everyday day! It's heavenly currency. Way more valuable ❤
@@StAlphonsusHasAPosse I'm not but thank you for the comment.

“Protestant retreat”. 1:45 There’s gotta be a word for this (it’s probably German). You see other groups use the same tactic, (“gender studies” people come to mind) you point out something they can’t defend but they’ll claim it doesn’t apply to their subgroup or even individual situation.
The hardest part about being catholic is that you have to deny the Bible
I don't think being Catholic is hard because of the the practices that are required of us but in my experience the reason why it's been hard on me is because most of the people I meet in these parishes are just so so mean i walk on eggshells at just about every church I am in but I still offer that up to God and I still find it rewarding after every mass and adoration I go to after i do it that is so i still will not leave my faith
Be sure to pray for them as well. It's sad how many people evening the church have no one to pray for them
BEING A CATHOLIC IS NOT HARD IF YOU TRULY LOVE GOD.
I agree with you
ST. POPE JOHN PAUL II: : “Eternal damnation remains a possibility, but we are not granted, without special divine revelation, the knowledge of whether or which human beings are effectively involved in it. The thought of hell and even less the improper use of biblical images must not create anxiety or despair... The concept of hellfire, the fiery furnace and the unquenchable fire of Gehenna need to be interpreted as symbolic language... The risen Jesus has conquered Satan, giving us the Spirit of God who makes us cry, ‘Abba, Father!’” (Rm 8:15; Gal 5:6).
This is not infallible, and contrary to the constant teaching of the church.
Its statements like this that have lead others to conclude, erroneously I believe, that he was a heretic and not the Pope
@@imisschristendom5293 POPE BENEDICT XVI: “People should not fear God, thinking he is always ready to punish, but rather they should love him because he is always ready to forgive.
God is not a relentless sovereign who condemns the guilty, but a loving father whom we must love not out of fear of punishment, but because of his goodness.
The Lord is a God who is just, but always ready to reveal himself as merciful and compassionate.God loves us in a way that we might call “obstinate” and enfolds us in his inexhaustible tenderness. The anger and mercy of the Lord alternate in a dramatic sequence, but love triumphs in the end, for God is love.
God’s passionate love for his people - for humanity - is at the same time a forgiving love. It is so great that it turns God against himself, his love against his justice.”
If you’re baptized and believe you are saved and DO NOT NEED TO TAKE A TEAT TO BE ACCEPTED INTO S CHIRCH. You become a member of the body of Christ through baptism and faith alone in him
Learn proper grammar and spelling. Your comments suggest you're unhinged, and misguided.
To compare the novus ordo church and religion to the True Catholic Church is a world of difference. The true Church is a perfect institution both infallible and indefectible. The church that came out of the judeo masonic revolution of the 1962-65 council has a new mass, new theology, new sacraments, new code of law, new catechism, new Rosary etc. It has all the externals but void of anything supernatural. It seems the true Church is in eclipse as our Lady of La Sallet foretold. Hold to the true Faith and pray the Traditional Rosary and know what the Church has always taught to protect your soul and eternal salvation.
First
Nice!!
There's no other church nor Christians, only the Catholic and catholics period. In the beginning, it's hard because of being in the fallen state, the poisoning of sin that has wrecked us , concupiscence, etc. Living the life that God wants is a war that we are able to do through Christ with the help of the Holy blessed mother. It's completely so different from what we are used to . To carry ones cross and follow the Lord. We can't do it ourselves. GOD out of his love has given us so many things to help us, the Holy Spirit, the blessed virgin Mary and more. We have to die me to ourelves- Ego.
May God bless you all, pray for us O holy Mother of God that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ Amen.
Rome has defected, and according to Vatican 1, that can't happen. You can't appeal to "Marian" apparitions because your ecumenical council has more authority. Orthodoxy is true, and Rome has admitted our positions are correct. I would love to come onto your show and tell you why I chose Orthodoxy and why Rome is wrong.
You refer to the Holy Father by his name only, not his title. Are you a sedevacantist?
My brother left the church because of all the “rules”.
