Truly one of the franchises of all time
When I was in elementary school, I decided to dress up as Harry Potter himself for Halloween. However, my school wanted us to have "gender specific costumes." I will never get over the fact that I didn't retaliate by pointing out that the kid in a banana costume technically wasn't gender specific either.
This moment shaped my view of my gender expression for a few months into my teen years until I recently realized I am non binary.
In short, Harry Potter transed my gender

My first ever convention I went to was in what was essentially a giant, concrete-floored, decomisioned production shed in West Australia. I had to do a tripple take when I saw Draco Malfoy himself was doing signings at the booths, alongside some other probably famous people that his pale hair and skin distracted me from completely. Between the insufferable heat of an average Australian day and the random appearance of most eggshell-white wizard the world has ever seen, I wholeheartedly believe I will never again experience such a bizarre reality disconnect as I did in that moment.
Ever since I've played the lego games, I have taken every opportunity of Cedric's death or the lego games being mentioned to bring up that mentioned scene.
Little child me found it so hilarious, it stuck to this day as the most memorable scene from the game
Finally someone brings up how weirdly competent Ron is a driving. I mean it wasn’t Fred or George who is driving the car when they picked up hairy, It was Ron. He out drove a train. drove through whatever the forbidden forest’s ground is covered in and around its trees. I can’t believe this doesn’t come up more. He should have taken over driving the knight buss.
I got into HP very late into my childhood (late high school years) because my family *hated* the idea of witches and wizards they would make me avoid this franchise like the plague.
Now being older, I love HP despite its whole world building problem, author issues, and lore mess-ups. Maybe its because it brought me back to a feeling of childhood I never had.
SAME. i got into harry potter in my late teen years for quite the exact reasons like yours and yes can confirm how it gave me the comfort of my lost childhood (which wasn't good but anyway).

Same! But the reason is far more ridiculous; basically my mom (who considers Nightmare before Christmas to be a horror movie) went to see The Philosopher's stone with my older cousin back in 2001, and she thought it was too scary so she discouraged me to watch the series whenever I brought that up. The first time I saw the first movie was probably in 4th or 5th grade I think :')

I mean Dumbledore only chose Lockheart to expose him as a fraud by using Harry as bait, the others though probably were chosen through a giant game show wheel
It never actually says that, though. And using kids as bait is, you know, bad.
@@MySerpentine there’s enough context clues to point to it though, and Harry was only used to draw Lockheart to the school since he viewed teaching Harry as a way to boost his own popularity (which was literally suggested to him by dumbledore), in which he would be exposed for his lack of knowledge in the teaching role he was placed in, Rowling explained this in wizarding world, saying that dumbledore knew two of the wizards that Lockheart took the credit from and believed that if Lockheart was put into a school setting, his ignorance would expose him as a fraud
I’m pretty sure that it was mentioned in the books that lockheart was literally the only one to apply to the position and that’s the reason that he’s a teacher.

when I was in first grade we had 3 foot tall dobby statue in the back of the classroom and lemme tell you that was the most emotionally scarring moment of my childhood

Back in 2018, I had the BIGGEST obsession with Harry Potter. Everyday I was thinking about it like my average hyperfixation.
HP was actually one of my only interests that not only did I completely let go of, but I also cringe about nowadays.

The cat isn’t dead and the blood isn’t hers. She’s just petrified and gets revived at the end of the movie alongside all the petrified students. If she had seen the basilisk directly she would have died, but instead she saw it’s reflection in a puddle of water.
It's still blood, regardless of whether it belongs to the cat or not.

About the review at 6:44, Lucius didn't actually try to use Avada Kedavra on Harry. The subtitles actually say "Vera..." My personal theory was that he was going to use the spell "Veraverto" to turn Harry into a goblet. Still cruel, but not exactly an unforgivable curse.
