“no one can read bella’s mind because she doesn’t think” is the single most accurate and funniest review of this movie
Counterpoint: If you look at some of Bella's habits and behaviours, you'll see that she's coded as autistic. There's even a scene where she talks about feeling like her brain is on a different frequency than everyone else's. The whole frequency thing could be the reason her mind can't be read.

this town is in the middle of the most beautiful forest, and NO ONE HIKES. Imagine how funny it would be if in the last movie, someone was just going for a hike and came across hundreds of people in black cloaks and like 100 feet away from them like 30 more people, a child and a bunch of massive wolves just staring at each other. HOW DID NOBODYS SEE THIS HAPPENING??

I always thought about this, like there is a national park nearby, why isn't anyone hiking? It turns out, the Olympic National Park has some pretty remote parts so I guess it makes some sense that the Cullens don't have run-ins with them. They also probably avoid people easily. They can hear them, smell them from a distance etc.
Well I mean, we know from a few throwaway lines here and there that at the very least, non locals came to hike near Forks all the time. We know this because the frequent deaths of said hikers are occasionally brought up to foreshadow that there was a vampire hiding out in the forest. Don't remember which one- either Laurent or Victoria, I think.
I'll be honest, when I first heard Jacob say he imprinted on her, I thought he meant like as her older brother figure or some kind of destined platonic friendship.
I'm choosing to stick with this innocent 12 year old mindset for the sake of my own sanity.
I thought that's how the author intended it and the directors took it the wrong way, but I've never read the books, so I wouldn't know.
Incidentally, I don't plan on reading the books. Or watching Breaking Dawn again.
@@JayTohab Unfortunately the books are even worse. There is a character that also imprinted on a baby and became the toddlers babysitter. They said that at that moment they were only her babysitter. But as the years go on he will then become her big brother figure, then her mentor, then her friend, and finally her lover. I also think he said "she will come to only rely on me", like what!? The books also have a bunch of other messed up things that make you question the authors character as a person (like racism). Honestly the movies are more tame then the books. If you would like to know what happen without reading the books there is a youtuber who does a great job. Here's there CZcams channel, there called Dominic Noble.

I love how everyone wants to throw Jacob in jail for imprinting on a baby but not as many people mention the fact that Edward is like, 96 years older than Bella. The first one is still a HUGE issue of course but like, you know.
i think a lot of people are more ‘okay’ with Bella and Edward because they LOOK the same age. With Jacob and rent a center, there’s a HUGE difference because obviously one is a fucking baby.
I think Jacob’s character assassination in previous books also adds to it; Jacob went from being a happy Golden Retriever Boy to being viewed by a lot of us as somewhat of a sexual predator. We never see Edward force himself on Bella, or anyone else for that matter. As much as Stephanie tries to backpedal, her character assassination was fucking solid.

Instead of Twilight, I had the book “A Taste for Red”, about an angsty preteen who thinks she’s a vampire until an old lady tells her “No you actually are not a vampire” and she’s like “oh ok 😔” and then the old lady is like, “Wait! You are actually part of a group with a magical destiny to protect the world” and she’s like “cool I guess”. Most accurate kids/teen vampire novel ever.

There literally was a child. Mackenzie Foy. She was in some of the scenes without the editing and then they recreated her face in her younger and older scenes. She was like, 11-12 at the time. That cgi baby tho...stuff of nightmares.

I cried when Carlisle "died" during the fake fight scene. I'm not a big fan but he was one of the only characters I liked. The others being Alice and Charlie.
Twilight should have been a gory horror/paranormal cop saga with Charlie being thrown into investigating a series of very gruesome murders with help from Carlisle who initially joins for the autopsies which are quickly determined to be caused by some vampire/other monster. Alice insists of being part of this for some future vision reasons too. Basically just strip down twilight to its strenghts: those three characters and Stephanie Meyer’s natural talent for descriptions of horror and violence.

Alice didn’t even care that Bella supposedly was dead, as soon as she figured out Bella was going to jump off a cliff her ass was driving back home. What was Edward doing? Watching. What was Alice doing? Driving and putting in the all time effort
We thought the choice was “stay with Jacob or save Edward” but it was actually “stay with Jacob or go to Rome with the hot vampire lady known as Alice”
Alice knew exactly what time Edward was going to reveal himself, and there’s no way in hell she didn’t slow down ever so slightly, or at least contemplate it
She looked into the future, saw what was going to happen, knew where the clock tower was and said “maybe if I send Bella on her own, she won’t find him, and while I’ll be sad that my brother is dead, I get to swoop in and be her new gf”
And when Bella did save Edward and the whole vampire council thing showed up, Alice came in like “yo I see you about to sacrifice yourself, let me show that I’m romantic too”
Alice and Bella exchanged “I love you” glances in the elevator on the way to their supposed dooms
When Edward just watched and said “no Bella” as Bella was about to sacrifice herself, Alice offered to create a future where she got to live with Bella forever

Edward didn’t want Bella to be a vampire because everyone in that family knew Bella and Alice were having an unspoken attraction, and he knew Bella would eventually dump his ass for his sister

Jacob literally had a crush on a baby. Yes, they grew up fast but they’d never get the years of maturity of growing up. AKA: Jacob has crush on vampire that acts really immature. (Maybe even toddler immaturity) That and the fact that Edward and Bella are the same thing.
Look, Edward is the dragon loli, even if he is "actually a 100+ yo vampire" he is physically and mentally 17, and renesmee's case is kjnda like dog years, at age 7 she is in fact a fully grown adult, she doesn't have as much life experience, but her brain development is the equivalent of an adult
Also werewolves dont control the imprinting and I'm pretty sure it's mentioned that they're loyal to the person they imprint one to the point renesmee could basically enslave jacob and he couldn't do anything about it
I like how people gloss over how Jacob repeatedly explained how imprinting works through out the movie series... Yet people are actin like this mf had an actual CHOICE?! Imprinting is done against your will. They're forced to be subservient and loyal to whom ever fate decides to fuck them over with. If anything HE is the victim. She's literally going to outlive him. She is already of an adult age in mind by the end of the movie. I mean she was having full on telepathic conversations as a BABY. If that doesn't tell you how rapidly she is maturing? I don't know what to tell you.

@@SuperUmizoomi Just because she looks older doesn't mean she is. Growing older means gaining knowledge, yes, but also gaining experience. Psychologically, realistically, she should be an absolute mess. Her mind needs to go through physical development which is influenced by her experiences and her _growing up._ Just because she _looks_ like an adult doesn't mean she is one.
Bella/Edward is a different thing. Edward is psychologically 17 because he was turned at 17 and just stopped aging. Yes, he gained more experience and is thus technically _older_ than Bella by quite a large margin. However, just like treating Edward like he's actually 100 would be wrong (He's neither emotionally stable enough nor psychologically mature enough for that), treating Renessme like an adult when she's, like, 10 months is also bad. Bella and Edward are ~similar and could ethically be together.
I'm not Team Edward. I'm actually Team No one. Edward and Jacob are just not chill for her. Alice sounds pretty cool, but she's in a relationship already.

The actual 2008 review at 2:50 actually made me tear up a bit because the girl who wrote that at the time was genuinely so excited about the movie and you can tell that it gave her so much joy. It’s fun hating on a bad movie but I can’t stand people who hate on or make fun of people who enjoyed it… especially if they’re kids.
Fun fact: this was based partially off of a My Chemical Romance Fanfic and was originally supposed to have Gerard Way as Edward ( ﾟ▽ﾟ)

I will never forget watching the first movie with my stepmom and my aunt and cousin, because we treated it like a comedy and spent the entire movie laughing our heads off at the jokes and quotes we made about it. 10 out of 10 viewing experience.

I love how the love triangle in Twilight was solved by giving Jacob a consolation baby. Like not Jacob just respecting Bella's wishes and trying to grow as a person 😂
Are we not gonna talk about how all of the best characters getting be-headed was the most traumatic thing most of us will ever witness? I was literally inconsolable. I like, was screaming and crying and throwing stuff. Because Carlisle, Jasper, Leah, and Seth dying. Yeah…..that just wasn’t right. And tie the pure drama of finding out it was just Alice’s vision? Everyone has that one movie, book, tv show, or series that they can fully admit isn't good and will make fun of it, but still have that desire to revisit it and enjoy it... Twilight is mine.

when Jacob imprinted on the baby, it seems everyone suddenly forgot what familial/parental love is
I think that part gets overshadowed because the only context movie watchers get for imprinting is in a romantic context. And in the books, that seems to be the end goal of the imprinting relationships shown, even implying that it will happen between one of Jacob's pack mates and a small child he hangs around with.
So yeah, the concept of familial/parental love gets forgotten. As it does throughout the series.

The fact that my teacher my sighed in disappointment when i said i didn't see twilight is something I will never understand.
I was listening to a playlist on CZcams and I decided to put it in my spotify playlist so l looked it up and I saw twilight on the album cover. The song I had been listening to for about two weeks at that point was from twilight. I wouldn't have given it a chance if I knew what it was from the beginning, but I didn't give a damn at that point because it was a genuinely good song. My aunt loves these movies and books and when I took an interest in the movie poster puzzle she had in her room, she decided that we'll watch all of the 4 movie that was out and I loved it (I was like 10 at the time) and we even went to see the last one in the theater.
When I got home I've put the theme song on in youtube and cried in silence, because the saga was over and I was feeling emotional as hell.
Years later I realised how wierd and funny these movies are. Mostly the first 2 are hilarious. And the parody 'Vampires Sucks' is a masterpiece!

I love this channel not because it creates a collection of non-bias reviews of overly popular underrated/overrated films and series in a totally monotone voice while displaying mug shots of the characters that are revered to in the review, no. It’s because joey played SUPERMASSIVE BLACK HOLE IN THE BACKGROUND OF ALL THE REVIEWS TO DO WITH THE BASEBALL SCENE!!! the editing, the attention to detail, the flashbacks 😻 I love this channel

Besides the really badly written interpersonal relationships, the plot line that made even 8year old want to smack my head into the wall and the fact that got everything wrong about vampires you probably could to the point at which I refuse to call them that... The worse part about this movie is how one.. one fucking fanfic about it was enough to horribly miss educate Most of the world about one of the most supporting and loving communitys, that I was lucky enough to be a part of growing up, out there to the point where we are just seen as a group of horrible/abusing/violent people and helpless gaslight once/people willing to do anything for money, causing people just like that to appear and making it more and more difficult find actual members of the scene
The fight scene that was just a vision is honestly me and my mom's favorite part out of all the movies

The most joy I experienced from twilight and the subsequent renaissance was catching Robert’s barely concealed contempt and his otherwise beautifully, weird personality that very much did not reflect any aspect of the books, Kristen’s budding, heaven-blessed gayness, and the fun himbo energy that Kellan brought. That arm wrestling scene was 100% a reenactment of the night my drunk lesbian ass and my sweet himbo friend decided to arm wrestle.

I remember being a young teen, like 13 or something, and my mom showed me New Moon because she didn’t understand why girls my age liked it and wanted to see if I could explain. I could not, because I didn’t like it.
When I was in secondary school I took my little brothers to see the first movie at my school's movie night and quite honestly the best part was when the dvd kept skipping.
How could they make a movie with god damn vampires and werewolves so utterly boring. Even the fight scenes were mostly posing.
It still baffles me that there were people out there that un-ironically enjoyed it. I get that everyone has different tastes but it was genuinely painful to watch.
I know that this shouldn't annoy me to this extent but it does. It is maddening.
My (9th grade) English teacher unironically loves Twilight. We turn our stuff into the "Edward" box, she has a life-size cardboard cutout of Edward, posters all over the walls. I do not trust her to be my English teacher. Isn't that series, I dunno, *infamous for bad writing?*
The baseball scene is probably the best scene from the saga. I’d be ok with just a book on the rest of the family, just doing family vampire things. I’m not a big fan of the series, but I like Alice, her family, and Charlie.
