Here in Brazil we have a cheese pizza with guava jam. Popularly known as Romeo and Juliet.

Just got back from Iceland yesterday. What an amazing country! Did the entire ring road. Lots of driving but well-worth the sights.

I get the jam on the pizza, just as good on a grilled cheese sandwich. This works well with cheeses like swiss that is soft and creamy.🤤

Down the street at our Mom and Pop's it is $17.00 USD for a LARGE pep. But this is Florida, where everything is cheaper

well, now I have to try my favorite strawberry spread on pizza. I like strawberry spread on my ham sandwich, and egg dishes, and pancakes.
Icelandic jam is so delicious - I’d definitely consider putting it on anything!

In Vik we had volcanic pizza topped with 4 different cheeses and humar. Outrageously delicious!

No jam, but we had a great pizza in Reykjavik at a place called Pizzaria Italia on Laugavegur road. We had been watching locals go in there so decided to try it. I do not remember the exact cost but it seemed to the least expensive dinner on our trip.
I missed that one. I tried good pizza in other places that were also good. Thanks for this tip
That pizza looks soooooo good!!! I would love to try it with the jam. I recently gave pineapple and ham pizza a try after years of saying I didn’t like it without even trying it and let me tell you that I’m obsessed. I feel like jam on pizza might probably be my next pizza obsession.

Hiya! I’m new, and love what I’ve seen so far. I’ve no plans to travel soon, but Iceland, Norway, and the other Nordic countries are on my bucket list.
So. You’ve mentioned in a couple of videos traveling a water bottle, as the tap water is so delicious! I wondered if there was much ice used in drinks, water bottles, etc.? I know it’s not common in some other countries, but it’s something that I’m quite fond of with drinks like water. Look forward to hearing from you!
Crepe with cheese and jam or fruit compote is big in France so this makes sense. ❤

I had the duck pizza with scallions and pecans. It was outstanding.
Sorry we missed that place. Next time we're in Iceland we'll make a point to try that. We did have some really good pizza during our visit in Vik, and compared to other food it was downright cheap.

Two best pizzas I had in Iceland:
1) Suour-Vik in Vik
2) Olverk Pizza in Hveragerði
I will be traveling to Iceland in October and am a picky eater. Is it okay to ask the waiter/waitress to make a small change to a menu item, or is this considered rude?
Fun for me, possibly in a small minority, would be: "Hi, here in Reykjavik, Iceland, where it is 72 F and cloudy at 0700, I am going to talk to you about pizza."

I have never considered jam on pizza but I am very fussy and only ever go for cheese and tomato.
Tomato paste is just another way of saying tomato jam. 😂
I wouldn't mind putting jam on a cheese pizza because it would be like a breakfast pizza to me.

Hello Team Iceland and Jeannie! I have been following your videos for about 12 months. thanks for all the good hikes, food and places to see. I made my reservations in March 2023 for my special vacation. Fast forward to last week, arrived at the airport in Boston, waiting to board, then the dreaded words, "ICELAND AIR FLIGHT# 630 IS CANCELLED!!" Our plane has a fuel leak!! Flight is rescheduled for the next day. Came back the following day, waited to board, then deja vu, "FLIGHT # 636 IS CANCELLED AGAIN". Apparently, the part that was ordered to fix the plane, did not fix the fuel leak.
Sadly, I never made it to Iceland this summer. Perhaps next year!!

You never really expand on the prices of anything. I watched the video re Costco. It would have been helpful if you had shown us the prices of meat and fish instead of just the blueberries.
She did mention that the pizza was about $27, but price varies with toppings.

Just when things should be simple technology has to make things worse. I like paper menus paper books and things that are right at hand as opposed to. I was a Broadcast Engineer in TV Thing aren't being made easier but worse. My grandmother liked putting sugar on everything me I look for sugar in tomato sauce. It doesn't belong there. There is enough sugar or corn surup put in everything.

One week ago I had the black crust pizza in Vik and now I can never eat another pizza again. The only disappointment from my trip to Iceland was not having the pizza with the currant jam.

Seems like you would need milk with it. I don’t think it is pizza anymore. It is more like a danish or a desert. A common ingredients of most pizza is tomato sauce and I can’t imagine jam on tomato sauce.

Some people scream "blasphemy" when even thinking about Hawaiian pizza (with pineapples), let alone Íslensk 4-cheese Flatbaka with jam, but they should keep their trap shut until they have tried it! If they don't like it they can say with conviction that they don't like it, but should that allow them to dictate what other people are allowed to do or like?

*In AMERICA you buy a pizza for $9.99 and leave a 20% tip ($12). In iceland you get a smaller pizza for $25 and you do not leave a tip. In iceland this method is much better because you don't have to do any math in your head. You just pay the $25 and be done with it. In America we have a different opinion as to which one is the better value for the money.*
