    Just wanted to share this for anyone who was interested, but I used to have very weak nails that would split super easily and they wouldn’t grow very long because they’d immediately break, but then I started taking prenatal vitamins and it’s been about a little over a month and my nails have already grown pretty long and they’re actually soooo much stronger, so idk just thought that might be helpful to some of y’all! :))

    I’ve recently started looking after my nails more, these are my tips that I’ve learnt that help:
    - Always make sure your nails are clean, use a tool to clean underneath them if you need to and scrub them frequently but with something gentle like a sponge or a cloth.
    - If you want to grow them long then don’t file too frequently, otherwise file them every week or every other week (not more frequently than a week though because filing too often can damage your nails as well, square nails with right angles are easier to maintain but they might break easier if they’re long. The best files to use are glass files, they can be expensive though so I got a sapphire file for only £2 and it works perfectly fine. If there are rough edges use a finer file afterwards.
    - If they are long and you don’t want them to break, act as if your nails are freshly painted, stop using them as tools for things like opening drawers etc and be more cautious with them.
    - Try to avoid acrylic nails or lots of nail polish as this can be harmful, if your going to wear nail polish, wear as few layers as possible, preferably one coat and one top coat and avoid acrylic nails completely, at least for a few months while you’re first trying to improve your nails.
    - Try to incorporate foods that will help your nails into your diet, even if it is just having a bit of it every other day that will help you have stronger nails, things like almonds and other nuts are good, foods with lots of vitamin E like avocado, mango and kiwi are good as well. And remember to drink plenty of water because your hydration is really good for your nails.
    - Stop picking or biting your nails, even though it might be hard, trust me it will be worth it when you have your ideal nails.
    - Keep patient, your nails aren’t going to improve over night, it might be a couple of weeks or even a month before you notice much change, depending on what you want your nails to be like, so you need to keep patient.
    - It’s equally as important to look after your cuticles as it is your nails, leave your nails in warm/hot water for around a minute to soften your cuticles before using your fingernail on your other hand or a cuticle pusher (Again I got one for £2 and it works well) to gently push up your cuticles, do not cut them though, they protect against bacteria and infections, do this every week after you file them.
    - Every day at least once (I find it easier to do in the evening before I go to sleep) massage your cuticles with oil. You can pretty much use any type, you can get special cuticle oils but I use olive oil because I have it anyway and it works well, just message each cuticle for about 10 seconds and leave the oil on there. This step really helps so I recommend you do it unless you absolutely can’t.
    - Remember that the key to healthy nails is your cuticles and healthy cuticles = healthy nails.
    - If you want to find as exact routine and exactly what products to use, looks up a few different nail routine videos on CZcams to get more ideas and tips, this is what I do.
    - Remember, having healthy nails doesn’t need to be expensive and you don’t need to have fancy products, you can probably get everything you need for under £10, maybe under £5.
    I hope these tips help you reach your nail goals! 💖

    Please don’t buff your nails. If you have ridges in your nails use a ridge filling base coat. If you have yellowing on your nails it is ok. If you really want it gone you can use a baseocat that stops yellowing nails. For the ridge filling basecoat I recommend Orly’s ridge filling basecoat

      OrganicallyAnna I know this is an older video but instead of olive oil, use vitamin E and jojoba oil mix. There’s a large bottle for $13 at Walmart. Olive oil just sits on the nails and greases up everything, there’s no actual moisturizing or soaking into the nail. Vitamin E is the oil that soaks in and moisturizes the nail, and the jojoba with it in mixture makes the oil not so watery. It’s truly the best mixture, though many different brands will push their oils as best because of branding lol.

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  Před 5 lety +10

      A lot of people do it to make the nails look longer, but the main reason I think is that the cuticle skin can stretch and split, especially if they're dry, causing hang nails and ofc it would hurt a bit. It's also said to help w nail health. I also don't like getting nail polish all over them haha. Just make sure you are very gentle and you soak your hands to soften the skin first. Stop biting your nails I know you can do it whatever your going through you can get through it! About last week I stoped biting my nails I slipped a couple of times then I stoped..mostly because I like tapping my nails on any wood surface to annoy people anyways I know you can do it YOUR BEAUTIFUL have a nice day,afternoon,or night :) and to stop the urge you can put soap or sanitizer on your nails so if you still bite them your brain is going to think” eww nails taste bad need to stop” and you will stop if your a savage and find away to bite through the soap or sanitizer have a reminder every five minutes for example..”YOU BETTER STOP BITING YOUR DAMN NAILS RIGHT NOW” hope this helps your strong Queen,or King 😊

    Can somebody tell me why you have to push back the cuticles?

    • @curateddaisies4128
      @curateddaisies4128 Před 3 lety +1

      1. Aesthetic reasons, grown out Cuticles look dry and crusty
      2. Nail polish, gel polish etc were made to adhere to nails, if you paint on your cuticles you'll get lifting and chipping

    I get compliments on my nails all the time! We actually have very similar nails and hands lol I need to get better at filing them into that perfect shape.
    Also, I can grow my nails really long and fast... but my hair grows slowwwww so slow. Ugh

      Same! My hair grows slowly and it breaks easily. I've never had a problem with my nails though 😅

      Apply a protein treatment to them and try not to put any nail polish or anything on them, just let them breathe and take care of your cuticles!

    Someone said unless your nails are weak you shouldn't use nail hardeners

    • @OrganicallyAnna
      @OrganicallyAnna  Před 2 lety +1

      During this time I was working at Starbucks so my nails and hands were always getting wet/getting cleaning products on them! I don't think a nail hardener is necessary if you're not experiencing weak nails, and I no longer use it as often :)

      I have a tip what you should try is to always occupy your hands or put some clear nail polish on it so the taste will hopefully make you not bite them
