George Galloway opens by graciously thanking the Union and mentioning that the last time he spoke involved an encounter from an enraged student about Hugo Chavez.
The video can be seen here: • Gay Rights and Hugo Ch...
He outlines that his talk will be about Britain rather than the rest of the world. During the Second World War Winston Churchill was invited by his own foreign secretary, Lord Halifax to make peace with Hitler, a surrender peace with Hitler. Churchill said he would rather everyone be choking on their own blood than to have Great Britain surrender to the Nazi's. If Britain had been invaded and Churchill escaped death then he would have retreated to the hills to organise the British resistance. He makes this point as there are so many people in Britain that don't understand that any people who have had their homeland invaded and occupied by others feels exactly the same.
He speaks of his past mentioning that he nearly came to blows with Tony Blair in the corridors of Oxford University, saying that if he invaded Iraq the fall of Baghdad wouldn't be the beginning of the end but would be the end of the beginning.
He goes on to say that the United Kingdom could be no more as of September 2014 because of Scotland's hatred for the Tory rule of the UK. He says the Labour party and Tory parties are like two cheeks of the same backside, so close together they don't differ in opinion on any of the big issues such as immigration, benefits, the economy.
Moving on if you are caught pickpocketing in London you go to prison but bankers who squander millions of pounds damaging the British economy remain unpunished. Some sources around Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, suggest that there are still £100Billion avoided and evaded in income tax every year from the biggest earners and corporations in Britain. If we got that tax there would be no deficit, no need for cuts or tuition fees or a times of austerity.
He tells of how his phone was hacked and how the press in this country are rotten to the core for hacking the phone of Minnie Dowler, a girl who messages were still being answered long after she was dead giving her parents false hope.
Our leaders make us a hated nation; the people don't believe anything politicians say anymore due to countless broken promises. George Galloway concludes by saying we should open our eyes to the state of our nation and to reject the state of mediocrity that British politics has become.

    ABOUT GEORGE GALLOWAY:
Few contemporary politicians have attracted as much controversy as George Galloway. A Labour MP from 1987 to 2003, he was an outspoken critic of the policies of Tony Blair and New Labour, in particular the decision to invade Iraq. Fiery comments such as "the best thing British troops can do is to refuse to obey illegal orders" saw Galloway expelled from the Labour Party. But Galloway returned to the political fray by founding the Respect Party and winning Bethnal Green and Bow in the 2005 General Election. Mr Galloway re-entered Parliament in this March as MP for Bradford West and has recently provoked controversy and criticism with his comments on the rape charges against Wikileaks' Julian Assange.

Some people do not have the intellectual curiously and/or capacity for such abstract thinking.
Others are too busy fighting the myth of meritocracy for a coveted spot in the shrinking middle class while finding time to watch 'the news' everyday...
Others could be doing nothing but working themselves to pay for their dinner and tuition at the same time. Perhaps if one did not ' pick their parents' and/or socioeconomic situation properly, they would be stuck with a virtually unattainable dream of gaining stable employment that may fall somewhere around the poverty line. They literally do not have time nor energy to invest in a healthy life.
And finally, well let me put it this way.... if you were the CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation and your whole family is used to a certain standard of living-- you probably would not disregard your significant others' wishes and/or the future of your children to jump into action at the front lines (metaphorically speaking).
You likely would not be protesting, hustling, struggling and perhaps even risking life and limb-- for say -- a ten million dollar tax hike!
In other words, it is awfully convenient to choose to pretend certain things do not exist, shut up, relax, and enjoy your life of privilege. Perhaps it is but the tendency to preserve oneself that is in human nature that pushes us to keep our lunch money.
Try considering why on earth something such as bullying still occurs. Indeed, it is pretty hard to stand up and attempt to fight someone bigger and meaner than you--- when all along in the back of your mind, you know that if any change happens or perhaps before any real change happens, that bully is now going to take your lunch money everyday too....
And that of all your friends.

I am impressed by his honesty and truthfulness . This is a reassurance that good people can still be found today . Well done Sir Golloway . You have the guts to confront those accusations . There are actually quite a lot of students at Oxford who come from state schools/poorer backgrounds. Obviously they are fewer in number than the rich students though.

George Galloway is to honesty what Jimmy Savile was to child protection. There are numerous CZcams videos of him denying statements of support for evil tyrants which are flatly contradicted by videos showing him doing just that.
