Someone I would love us to sign is Ederson from Atalanta. 25 years old, plays CM and is an absolute monster in that Atalanta midfield. The press and work rate is amazing and wins the ball back in high areas of the pitch. He is also excellent in the air and can score goals from set pieces. He was unbelievable in the Europa League, especially against Liverpool in the QFs and the final against Leverkusen.

Rated him at Napoli to be fair, he’s got a bit of everything like a better version of xhaka almost and in Arteta’s system I know he’d flourish

I belive he can play across the midfield In a 6 8 or 10 role but would be kore suited for a 6 or 8 might be a built old but has the incisive passing and good build up as well as ability to shoot im not sure on all of this but frkm what i know it sounds right

Really gutted we've missed out on a solid midfield with great potential in Onana. He's the perfect replacement for the part timer Thomas Partey.
To be honest, Rabiot is not a bad shout anymore. He seems to have matured a lot in the last 2-3 years. If we can get 2 more good seasons out of him, he has served his purpose. Hes not someone we keep but he would actually be a good addition to this current Arsenal squad. He is experienced, won big trophys, has the right age to mentor players and assist Arteta. The best thing is, he is free.
My summer transfer will be Califori, Nico William and Zubimendi

I personally think we should go all in for Tchouameni. Camavinga and Valverde will be starting with Bellingham playing as the attacking midfielder. Tchouameni will be a bench warmer. Go in with a big bid and tell him that he will start in the 6 with Rice as the L8.

I've been saying this since the start of the Windows.
As someone who closely follows Real & watches all of the games - there is no way he Tchouameni would be allowed to leave; when fit he always starts & even slots in as CB if needed. Very highly rated by Perez, Ancelotti & fans and will by no means be a benchwarmer.
I understand the excitement around the player - just want to make it clear that he simply is not an option.
Guys its the opposite. Camavinga sits on bench or LB and tchou is priority over him and valued higher than cama at madrid. We shoulf put a nice bid in for camavinga. If you swapped camavinga and tchou names in your comment you would have been bang on. You clearly didnt watch madrid very much if you think meni is going to bench warming he is crucial in their midfield.

We spent 65 mil and he’s our highest earner, he ain’t going on the bench for sure. If he gets 25 GA next season he ain’t moving from that position anytime soon.
The left side dynamics are far more important - last season Martinelli suffered a lot from the constant rotations on the left flank and the fact that he didn’t have anyone who provides him an overlap. He shines when cutting on the inside not when he plays as a touch line winger.
We got a new CB/LB that is good on the overlap and carrying into midfield. If we get an 8 that’s also willing to do that and to create a partnership with Martinelli it unlocks our attack.
Nico Williams is probably the best option, cause he creates really well from the left and he can invert on the right when it’s needed from him.
A new 9 is really not the priority, goals are not the issue, the fact that we had a one sided attack for the whole season is.
If anything, a new LW and moving Martinelli centrally can definitely be an idea and something to consider if you want to try something different.

Kai and jesus are not goal scorers… and those games where we lost points and basically lost the title because of teams low blocking and parking the bus, if we had haaland guarantee we would have picked up atleast 4 more points last season. We create 20 chances for 1 goal. Just because our style of play and chance creation is so good doesnt mean we dont need a goalscorer.
Ball playing no6 please. Rice isn’t suited to picking the ball up from the CB or receiving on the half turn. Neves is the one - reminds me of Modric.

When looking at a left 8, do an in focus looking at progressive passes, progressive carries, passes into the box, and especially through balls completed. These are the numbers that took a huge hit with xhaka leaving that we haven't replaced.
Could focus on fdj, Ruiz, nevez, guimares, and even musiala for templates (especially fdj).

Manu Kone from Gladbach is a player to watch, he’s been injury prone and inconsistent but his potential is very high. Progressive 8, with the dribbling, long passes and an eye for goals. He’s a little defensive liability but with his frame and the right coaching I think he could do a job in the premier league. Watch him in the French Olympic squad, could be the Pogba replacement for the National set up in a few years.
Zubimendi or Guimarães are the top 2 for me..but unfortunately both seem close to impossible to get done

I think we need a starting ball-progresser to compliment Rice, because I don’t think that’s his greatest strength. And while Partey and Jorginho have done that in the past I see them as more as squad players at this point.

James the problem I have with your ideas on how new signings would fit in to a team that just finished second two years in a row is, all the players you mention then jiggle them up to fit in makes the team and the panel weaker. what we need is a fit for purpose player to take the place of and upgrade on what we have, not to get a player that most of a succesful team needs to move around the pitch so to fit in. just my opinion on how to make a good team better.
