Mind blowing. Best drum channel on youtube. No bullshit, just great ideas! Thank you mr.Brown!
Thanks dude 🙂👊🏽
I’m 61 and after many years of playing keyboards and hand percussion, am loving being a new student of drum kit. Love love love your videos, Rob, thank you so much! I’m going to start trying this one tonight!
love your channel bro. 72 years young..played years ago..pick it back up..6 mo. ago.no youtube back in the day
Man, you make it look so easy, and you make it easy to learn from you. So smooth and no preaching. 51 yrs old now, stopped at 20, started back up at 45. This is my main go to now when i'm working things out.
Thanks Rob! I'm 68 years old and you've got me: a.) heading to the basement to develop my own new fills b.) heading to the basement to also cop everyone of the fills you just played. Great vid man.
+Gretschnut 68 And still at it. That’s how it’s done, right there 🙂👊🏽
Same here!
Probably the most helpful concept/suggestion ive heard.
This is exactly how I'm feeling, myself and band mates frustrated with my playing. Been feeling stale, took a break for a while, came back to the kit with fresh heads and new cymbals and now feeling more inspired to practice more heavily. Wanting to start lessons but a little indecisive about the online aspect
Love these videos and my kick drum still got that maximum thumpification!
Thanks Rob! I too am an old drum dog (self taught) learning new tricks! Thanks for the straight forward, non condescending approach! You're a great teacher! Glad I found your site.
Ah, love the fact that there’s actually someone out there older than me (check out 68 year old below) tuned into your channel, Rob. I’m 67 BTW and your instruction is as pertinent to me (old timer still playing live music) as it is to any beginner or intermediate drummer. I was an athlete at one point in my life and going over the basics always helped in taking it to the next level. Getting the foot more involved in fills is something I’m still working on and your approach helps a lot in opening up new possibilities.
Hey rob
You really have an exceptional way of explaining things.
Thank you so much.
You have no idea how much you just helped me.
Thanks again

Mr. Rob "Break It Down" Brown strikes again! You're one of the best on CZcams for breaking down concepts into simple, easily digestible and quickly actionable pieces. I especially like that you empower us to use our own minds to develop our own drumming style and feel instead of just being good copy cats of formulas and recipes.
Rob yet another brilliant lesson brother! Thank you all the best

I am very glad to that I found your videos one of my favorite teachers I consider you a mentor and hope to connect soon
excellent teacher!
Thank you
It's funny, I use a variation of this technique to learn other people's fills too. I break it down to the subdivisions, get comfortable playing it on the snare drum, then spread it properly around the kit. This is great Rob, thanks!!
Another great video Rob.
I really enjoy your channel Rob. I like the way you break things down. It inspires me in my teaching. Thanks for sharing this!
+Behind the Beat with Chris Langan Nice. Glad you’re diggin the channel. And you’re welcome 🙂👊🏽

Definitely a really helpful video!
Much love, i just needed to hear this advice again xD
Learned a lot from this, thank you for sharing. Loving the video, keep it up . ^^
I've got a routine for ya that will open up a ton of ideas. Take any four bar drum fill, preferable one that uses at least four different sources. Play it forward, then backward, then backwards and forward, (loop) play in inside out, bar two, bar one, bar four, bar three, (loop) then bar four, bar three, bar one bar two. See where this is going? This also opens UP YA Ears and Gives you lots of ideas for solos.
Kewl great fills!!
Thanks mr.Rob,you are genius !!
Super simple yet super excellent concept. Great vid.
+poekoelan75 Thanx dude 🙂🇨🇦
Free content this good is just generousity. Please keep the quality content coming :)
I ran back to.my drums before you were done ,couldnt wait
Nice looking kit
Thank you!
I must say thank you Rob, after 22years of playing drums, finding your channel has help me break out of my "comfort zone" to try playing things a different way and people have noticed the difference. I just point any drummer friends to this channel. By the way, I noticed that your drum stick looks clean. Did the old vic firth finally give in and break?
+Ross Rinkenbaugh Ha! Nah man. They’re sitting on the table behind me. Still hanging tough. I just decided to use my Jojo Mayer sticks for this one. Plus I didn’t want any first time viewers comin’ up in here thinking I’m poor or somethin’ 🙂
Glad to hear the sticks hangin in there. Vic Firth represent👊💯
Thank u, really cool 👍
You're truely a master!
YOU SIR have earned a new subscriber
Great video. The fill you begin explaining at at 9:12 sounds like a Herta to my ears.

UKRAINE in the house! 🇺🇦 That's crazy, man. Shout out from way over here in 🇨🇦 🙂
I like the last one, lol. Man , you make it so simple. You take some small and make it sound big! Your teaching is awesome, simple, groovy, and yet effective. Thanks, Beatdown. Oh, btw, I just ordered my drumeo p4 practice pad, it'll arrive here in a few days. My wife is already making fun of me because of me tapping my hand on my legs while learning rudiment exercises, lol. Stay cool bro.
That’s amazing I was stuck using the same 5 fills now I’ve completely opened up my fills thanks man
I knew it would help SOMEbody out there 🙂 You're welcome 👊🏽 🇨🇦
Rob, you are #1
58 years old and been drumming for 2 years now. This is a Great lesson.
+wjb111 Thanx a bunch, man 🙂
How you going with paradiddles and 6 stroke rolls?
Hey Rob! Love your stuff! I was just wondering how you would mic up your drums for perhaps a studio or a home studio?
I love the last one!
Not just intermediate drummers run inti brick walls... i like big Beat Down Brown's lesson here. Very well. And there are several ways to knock down those brick walls. Work on new styles, start over. Work on different styles, and play to different styles. Soo many drummers stay on the genre of music that they like... learn death metal beats, or Jazz, and you will improve, and knock Down those walls. Good luck!
GRAZIE ROB SONO FEILICE DI SEGUIRE LE TUE LEZIONI DA ROMA

+Fizioterapija Corpus Izidor Ivanović Thanks, man 🙂 Perhaps I’ll make it out there someday if there’s enough interest. And enough pills to knock me out on the plane ✈️ haha
Thanks bro! Was actually frustrated, after a year from start up I was believing I was done, that I could go no further being self taught and starting late in life.
Thank you so much...... 😍😍😍
I just set a metronome and doodle mindlessly with rudiments. Bound to make something cool.
This idea is so simple, I hit myself for just not thinking of it! :) I need to up my patreon level, you have a ton of valuable lessons here!
+hillie47 I saw your pledge update man. Thanks a bunch. Very much appreciated 🙂👊🏽
