    Paraphrasing here, but being comfortable with the space in between the noted you are playing, hit me right in the chest! Feel like I have 4 or 5 fills that get used all the time. Great video!

    Again, a very nice and informative video. I have just one hint for you: Keep an eye on playing the strokes right after the accents/toms evenly loud compared to the other not accented singles and your hihat kind of moved from 2 and 4 to 1 and 3 at a certain point. :)
    Keep on grooving.

    Fills ALWAYS are determined by the song and what the other instruments are doing.

    • @wolfumz
      @wolfumz Před rokem +1

      Yeah I just found this out. I wrote a few fills, refined them by using drum MIDI, practiced them over and over. They sounded great when it was just me on the kit.
      But man they sounded awful when I was playing to music. They were way too overwrought, and even distracting. They even felt bad to play, once I had the music going, they didn't lock in all at.
      Rookie mistake!

    Do you use sinlge ply ambassador on SNARE batter ? Just wondering 👍what u like on snare ..i just changed up to remp amb batter on snare , but normally run dual ply..seems like i could get just as much sensitivity with the 2ply uv2 evans ..whats your take on snare batter thickness..?? Thanks 👍😀

    Get rid of your week hand in 3 steps:
    Step one. Hold large blade in stong hand
    Step two. Place weak hand across snare
    Step three. Rimshot

    Another simple hack that I use when trying to think outside the box is to think of a fill that is literally never been used by any drummer ever. Of course it has to make sense in the context of the song but this will really force you to focus on different stickings, Dynamics etc.

    Bro! Get to the point quicker 3:00 in and you are still selling stuff! and also quite giving people poor advice! Same boring fills? Simple fills just work and have for decades. Variations sure, dynamics sure, but you have clearly fell victim to the “CZcamsr” thing! Anyone watching this needs to be aware! Listening and using simple fills to compliment the MUSIC is “ALL THAT MATTERS!” Unless you are a “CZcamsr” keeping viewers for add sense.

    • @brandwijkgg
      @brandwijkgg Před 2 lety

      Maybe he meant 'boring' in the sense of playing them over and over again, some variation doesn't hurt and it keeps drumming fun to do.
