Andrew, I am very impressed with your honesty and integrity in sharing your story. My heart hurts for you for all the pain and shaming the church placed on you. I have grandchildren your age. Andrew I want you to know I would be proud to have a young man like you for my grandson. I hope now that you have distanced yourself from BYU and the church that with time you will be able to find peace and build your life on YOUR core values, not an institution's values. I was a student at BYU over 50 years ago, and they were using the same shaming culture back then. I was finally able to leave the church in my 30's. I am so happy that we now have the internet where the church's truth claims, bigotry, and shaming culture can be exposed. I wish I had that information when I was younger, because It would have hastened my exit from the church. Andrew, I sent you wishes for a healthy and meaningful life.
Andrew- Thxs for sharing your story!
