    I just started mixing, and these videos are great for explaining how to do something, and why to do it.
    Most tutorials or tips and tricks videos are being mixed with house music with insanely long music interludes, so I most definitely appreciate the videos. Liked and subbed and will most definitely be watching more of your content!

    Super helpful because I struggle working with songs with differing BPMs. I usually just drop mix because I'm not confident. Props to you for showing us beginner DJs ways to mix!

    • @wheystedmusic
      @wheystedmusic  Před 12 dny +1

      It’s all about their style. You can stay at 140-150 a whole set and it feel entertaining. Track choice, breakdown selection all is important. But at the same time it can be also very boring if you are just doing the same setup and drop over and over

      @wheystedmusic the stuff that I personally need to learn is how to actually create a set that is going to sound good from the ground up, showing how anyone would come up with where they want transitions or doubles. I'm not sure if it's possible to really get all the information through my thick skull with a tutorial style video or if I'm best off trying to find some irl practice, sadly I don't have access to any local Dubstep genre DJ's since they don't exist here. DJ Carlo has a ton of great videos for house music stuff but Dubstep DJing seems to be an entirely different animal

    imo the best parts of a set to change bpm is to do it whenever there are no precussion or rythmic elements, like an atmospheric break from a drop, a new intro being introduced, or yeah to change bpm on a buildup, great vid tho very useful

    • @wheystedmusic
      @wheystedmusic  Před 4 měsíci

      Always easiest if there is no beat you have to worry about, Deff agree!

      @@wheystedmusic so then all ud have to rly worry abt is the pacing of the set, but with changing bpm mid buildup i like bc hotcue abuse lol

  • @SamEntropy
    @SamEntropy Před 4 měsíci

    Great info! But how are going from the 150 dubstep down to the 100bpm dubstep. I feel like this method wont work for that well enough. Could use Wide mode to move that far, but may have to bring in some looping to hit that far of a change. I might experiment with some ideas over the weekend

    • @wheystedmusic
      @wheystedmusic  Před 4 měsíci +1

      If your going to drop from 150 to 100 your going to need a long break/ looping. Unless you are progressively bringing down the energy over time with multiple tracks to reach that destination!
      I’m thinking of doing a video on looping tbh

    • @SamEntropy
      @SamEntropy Před 4 měsíci

      @@wheystedmusic yeah I was thinking the same thing tbh. Doing such a large change definitely needs more time, and a break.

    This video would be better if you had played the transitions as is and then explained it. Now you play/pause the video at random moments which don't really highlight what you just said.

    Personally i avoid using sync in these situations and just bring the track in at the other bpm and use bpm reset at either the drop or a start of a phrase

    • @wheystedmusic

      That works just as well! No right or wrong way to get it done 🙂

    @alexanderjamesofficial Před 4 měsíci

    This might be a dumb question, but why is there so much hate to using beat sync by a lot of DJ’s?

    • @wheystedmusic
      @wheystedmusic  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It started from a dj’s back in the day not having that tool. So they were forced to learn beat matching. And they think they are better dj’s because they beat match every transition rather than pushing that red little button haha. But it’s a tool in your arsenal and you shouldn’t feel bad for using it!
