Thank you!
Salem,Oregon was my home
when I was a child.
Although alot of the scenery has changed since the 1970s,
There are things there that you
have highlighted that makes me
want to hop a plane from CT and
go back!!
Thank you for showing my home town... I know my home town is beautiful, sometimes you forget when you're here everyday... Like many city we have our struggles, but its nice to be reminded how beautiful it is.. Thank you
Hi there! Planning a trip to Salem, how "pedestrian friendly" is the city? Gonna use public transportation and my feet mainly.
@@St_Marie downtown is very walk able......
@@Karen-dc3cg great! Thanks for replying đđť
I would love to retire there be nice to get away from New Orleans
That was the best travel vlog I've ever seen. Usually I find them very annoying but you guys made it very artsy, fun and unique. Something really engaging about it.
Thank you!
Nice overview of Salem. Love the flowers throughout and vintage flavor of the city you presented.
Really feel heaven
Western Oregon- so beautiful!
Moving back soon after 22 years in Iowa. Glad to see its just as beautiful as it was then. Thank you for this
It's a lovely town. There's a good mix of rural peaceful landscapes and city amenities nearby. Enjoy it!
Planning on moving there by March đâ¤ď¸ hope to see you around!
Dark Wolf by any chance did you know a teenager way back in 1975 named Joe Page ?
âI feel like Iâm on a college campusâ lol youâre on Willamette Universityâs campus
Haha yeah we didnât realize it
I had no idea Salem had so much history. I love how you guys showcase these small American towns that most people don't think of visiting. I like how you showcase these towns from the perspective of how a foreigner might view them. Which is not easy to do. But I feel like I'm discovering my own country through my videos, if that makes sense. If you've lived here your whole life you overlook certain things like the tulip fields, wine tours or little coffee shops. I know a lot of American travel vloggers including myself struggle to produce interesting content from their own country, because the vibe is very different. I think a big part of it, is because in our own country we tend to travel independently instead of taking tours, so we don't interact with locals as much. And also there are so many things that are normal and boring to to us, especially the languge, so we don't know how to make them interesting. IDK if I'm making sense đ
Wow, I live in Portland and have considered moving to the less populated area of Salem. Your video is one of the most interesting videos of the area I've seen. FIRST TIME SEEING YOUR VIDEOS AND NOW A NEW SUBSCRIBER. đđđ
I want to live there so badly
I want to visit again so badly!!đ
Youre so funny, "pink snow!!!!" đ never though of that, been here for 18 years đ
Haha It was so beautiful! And it sticks to you like snow too đ¸
I love that beautiful field of flowers also love how you talk youâre a great host!
Thank you! Cheers!
I live in Alaska but itâs my desire to move to Independence Oregon:) Iâm done with the cold đĽś
Get ready for rain. Lots of it.
Independence is a quiet little town, but it will get cold during the winter with lots of rain.
Independence is beautiful
Kinda funny with all these Salem travel vids. I grew up in Salem, still live somewhat in the area, but don't drink alcohol. Everyone goes down the list of cool things to do, and I go between super familiar with things(have literally stood in most of the places in your video), then a brewery or vineyard gets mentioned and I shift to completely lost. Just completely outside my world. The shift back and forth between super familiar and no clue at all makes me chuckle.
We're closing on a house in Salem! Can't wait to go home
Congrats! Itâs a beautiful place â¤ď¸
Congratulations
the food looks so good
It was! And great wines and cocktails here too!
nice video.
Many many thanks đ
Salem always raining âşď¸
Getting ready to move there sight unseen until your video . Thanks
Right on! Enjoy your time in Salem
Parks are free to camp in again.
Ritters is awesome
If you walk a little ways behind the capital, you will be on a college campus! I agree with you, there is definitely an east coast vibe here!
I can actually see the capitol from my house cause i live on a hill so i sit up on the hill while the sun goes down and its SOOOO PRETTY
Im going to salem next week can you please tell me where that last place is in Independence where you show the old rail rpad tracks? Thanks
Great video
it is funny thinking that I have been hearing places named Salem. Salem is the name of a place in Tamil Nadu in the southern part of India famous for its textile industries. There is one more place named Salem too. I think it is in Massachusetts.
Itâs weird because I live in Salem and I know where everything is
Where the locations you are showing are beautiful. I would have to guess the cost was rather spendy by comparison to extremely frugal.
I lived In Portland for 20 years, never occurred to me to visit Salem, although I did go there several times
Definitely worth a visit! It's a cute little town with so much to do in and around the city.
My first association on Salem is movie Fly over coockonat ' s nest.
Yep - it was filmed here!
did you guys see the grasshopper statue in the garden alley way ??
we missed this! we'll need to look out for that next time :)
Every capitol building we've ever had, on every site, has burned, btw, including the current one.
Odd huh?
That is really interesting! Any theories?

Salem has many beautiful areas but the downtown area is overrun with homeless, tent cities, drugs and crime! Sadly according to the FBI statistics 93% of USA cities are safer than Salem OR.
Haha, Willamette Slough is pronounced "slew" not "slow!"
Thatâs pretty much every city in the US these days. Fortunately the crimes committed by homeless/drug addicts people are largely within their own communities. Just have to hope the tide will turn on citiesâ misfortunes.

Buen idea!
lived in portland my whole life. salem is the most boring place in the nation.
