I remember the first time i came across one of your videos i was close minded thinking you talked to much. Little did i know i was just ignorant in fishing and had a lot to learn. Moral of the story: always have an open mind. Thank you sm!!! Keep up the great work :)
Thanks for coming around and being open minded!
7ft medium heavy is my favorite too. I keep it 7ft because of overhanging trees and it fits in my truck
Agree
Yes, bro, I needed this cause I didn't know what to throw on my new rod but now I know!
Awesome!
Great video Tyler keep itđ you never fail to help us anglers improve
Thatâs my whole goal!
tyler: does One fishing rod tutorial
also tyler: pulls up to the pond with 12 rods
I guess you didn't listen to the beginning of the video
@@josephdurkin8180 i commented before he said that lmao
What about when he reels his second bass in on a different setup? Not really a good demonstration.
It was just fishing footage. Lol. He wasn't demonstrating how to fish with only one rod... like do you really need a demonstration for that? "Let's get into some footage of my recent pond trip" or something to that effect.
I feel this đ
Started running only two rods (a baitcaster and a spinning rod) about a year ago instead of about 7 in my Jon boat and honestly, I can't say I ever missed all my rods.
40 lb braid. Interesting choice. Yes... add a 15 to 20 lb. fluorocarbon leader. I whole heartedly agree.
At the beggining when you were walking with all those rods đđ
If i was only allowed 1 rod setup it would be right out of gate a 7ft medium heavy lews hank parker casting rod with a lews speed spool lfs with 15lb fluoro or 30lb braid(maybe a fluoro or mono leader) to cover every and all fishing techniques. Thats for jigs, topwater, lipless cranks or regular crankbaits, texas and weightless, and frog fishing in the 1/4oz frogs to the 3/8oz maybe 1/2oz frogs. Braided line you can get away 30lb braid with frogs perfectly fine as long as your aware of the vegetation your fishing.
I definitely pay attention to these pond videos,I live in the heart of Appalachia and I've got a whole series of very isolated mountain of ponds I'm fishing this year, boat isn't an option considering I've gotta hike about a mile though dense forrest just to get to them, the good thing is that all of these ponds are loaded with bass that aren't really pressured at all but they are very intelligent, they're huge and if they see you at all they won't hit anything
That sounds fun and challenging!
Perfect timing, I just started to look for a new rod
I link all my tackle in the video descriptionsđđŒ
Finally someone besides tactical bassin talks about braid to leader! All my rods and reels have braid, most of the time with leader.
It is like the industry standard...

I use straight braid for Frogs on dirty or vegetation waters only. Top water open clear water fluorocarbon 15 lb . I start retrieve as soon as it hits the water ,like a buz bait.
Youâre missing out on a lot of the purpose of a frog by working it that way. Check out this video: czcams.com/video/v7kGzsvoyGs/video.html
The thing that erks me the most is suggesting bass fishing advice and 90 percent of the advice I get is a boat related advice. I don't have a boat and will probably never own one. Thank you for catering to the underdogs
I cater to everyone. And even my boat videos can apply just as equally to the bank
This looks like one of many soil conservation reservoirs in Texas. There are two in Denton that are on public land but they are so pressured, itâs difficult to catch anything. Maybe it will improve with the cooler temps.
It's a private pond that you have to have an annual membership and then pay a daily price to fish (typically around $120 a day). You get to fish the pond exclusively for the day you book. Very cool but can get spendy quick.
Great Video Tyler
Thanks bud!
Im new to âfishingâ but I havenât bought anything yet. So far you are the most informative. I want to learn so when my son is older I can teach him and hopefully grow a passion together. Would this setup work for lake as well?

TylersReelFishing takes some getting used to but itâs easy! I learned how to do it the other night. I was using uni to uni but it would catch in the eyes occasionally. No problem with the fg knot. Love your stuff man keep it up đ€đŒ
When I want to take just one rod. I take multiple reels with different lines and weights. And I simply change the rod. It can become a pain to cheange back and forth. But it is easier than dragging multiple rods. And of course the expense. You can use braid and do a leader like you said. But I try and avoid tying leader knots if I can. You can get pretty fast at changing reels. For me it is faster then tying a leader knot. And I don't have to worry about the leader knot breaking.
Yep. Great idea
Do you still suggest with the rod, reel, and line for pond fishing or has it changed.
Whatâs the best goto all around rod for the Antares? I have a googan black goto. But wanting something else.
You should do a river bank video sometime đ
Always an education when you put out content, thank you! I have a question, what aspect settings do you use on your GoPro on the chest mount?

Hey man. Love your vids. Youve taught me a lot. My favorite lures are the booyaa padcrasher frog and a strike king heavy cover swim jig. My problem though is i have a hard time telling if im getting a bite or bumping something when im using the jig. Whats the best way to tell? If their is one.
It just takes time to feel the difference man. No way to learn quickly
Practice, practice and practice. Move lure slow and be patient. Focus on the *unusual feel* at end of the line. Distinguish the differences between the usual/normal from the *unusual* Hope this helps.
Iâve been wanting a video like this but I didnât know it lol
Haha thatâs great! Glad I can satisfy your unknown desires
Hey man, Iâm using a ozark trail 6â6 telescopic rod from Walmart for $20 lol what should I get for fish small or big like trout, bluegill, bass and so on? Iâm new and caught around 8 largemouth but I caught a big bass which made my spinning reel bolt lose and it is wobbly now (broken?). Help
New to bass fishing and I have 2 questions: Do you use a backing or just straight braid/leader? and next question is if there is a pole line rating does the 40 lb braid being over the rating matter as main line since the leader being less will just break off first? Thanks for the tips!
1. Lots of guys use different line setups for different things. I use straight braid (40-60) for topwater and very heavy cover applications like matter grass, and straight fluorocarbon for everything else.
For spinning combos, however, I throw light braid to a light fluorocarbon leader
2. Those line ratings are for mono/fluoro, so just think about line diameter. If the rod can handle â20lb lineâ, it can also handle 65lb braid
I think tyler should have more than 175 k subs
I have trouble with the part of the split grip behind the trigger being too short for my hand and the rod feels like it is going to squirt forward -- which is distracting. Can you name a rod brand that makes that section longer?
Hi Tyler
TylersReelFishing but which one would you get the Mach crush or the tp1 black stick and Lews lfs.
Hmm, they are both good! The crush is a great combo
Threw me off for a sec with the âlets get startedâ comment. Instead of âletâs talk about itâ đ
I know, I messed up đ
Like the info. Thanks Tyler
Does this 7ft med heavy rod matter if itâs bait caster or spinning rod? Also am I able to throw a weightless Texas rigged Senko on medium heavy spinning rods?
If you are comfortable with that, then do it. I just know that youâll be a more efficient angler if you learn to use a baitcaster
Someone needs to know how to tie the FG knot. That looked like the blood knot. Lol jk but the fg knot rocks. Love the vids Tyđ
Iâm learning this week haha
Lol I know I keep asking this question but Iâm trying to buy a a rod and reel around 200$ and I want the best one. So if you had to choose which one would you buy the Mach crush or the tp1 black stick and lfs speed spool.
Tp1. And make sure you enter tackle warehouse through the links in my video descriptions! Helps me make revenue
I'm considering buying the 7'0"MH version, should I go with 30 pound braid and 12 pound fluorocarbon leader or should I stick with your recommendations?
Drop down on line, yes
What lures can I throw on this combo?
Could you make a video on how you record what you do?

TylersReelFishing would you recommend the Mach crush combo. Or is the tp1 black stick and lfs speed spool better.
Mach crush is a great one if you just wanna get a pre made combo
TylersReelFishing but which one would you get
Hi
Hello my friend I enjoy seeing your fishing videos and how to fishing tips I have always been wondering about what is that round ting on the top of your hat your hate
Maybe a dumb question... just picked up my first baitcaster and its a medium heavy. It says 10-20lb line on the rod...does that mean for mono so I could put heavier braid on it?
Yes. Braid has a much smaller diameter. 10-20lb is based on monofilament.
Yeah donât pay much attention to those line numbers. I will explain that in a video this summer
What reel under 150$ would you recommend for bank fishing if you donât want to buy the Lews bb1 pro. Love the bank fishing vids.
Speed spool LFS
TylersReelFishing would you recommend the Mach crush combo. Or is the tp1 black stick and lfs speed spool better.
its refreshing to not hear "shop karls" every two minutes
Well, youâre gonna hear a âshop tackle warehouseâ every once in a while, hope youâre ok with that!
TylersReelFishing thatâs the best place to go in my opinion!!
Would you change that length if the pond was full of obstructions?
Any input appreciated.
Yes, shorter if youâve got trees to worry about
@@TylersReelFishing thanks. Went to bass pro yesterday and got a 6' rod. Caught some bass this morning on it.

My 2 rod and reel combos for the swamps of louisiana is a 6'6" medium heavy fast action casting rod and the other is a spinning rod 6'6" medium heavy .... Both rods together cost me 70$ and i use them almost daily and i have braided line to leader on both
@@willbecker5632 thanks for the info. I got a 6' med fast for my spinner and I'm looking for a 6' rod now. Where I'm at it's wooded creeks and rivers. We do have lakes but I tend to not fish them.
I'm really new to bass fishing, especially bait casters. 40lb line is outside the recommended range for the reel you have. What's the reasoning for the line ratings on the reel and does going over that negatively affect its function.
I donât believe there are line ratings on reels. If there are, they mean nothing

I only just started doing 2 rods with me. An ultra light spinning and a medium. I do want to get you opinion on Shakespeare ugly stick rods. Good budget or find a better?
Nah, get a mach combo
ââ@@TylersReelFishing to clarify I'm not spending 150+ on a rod and reel I can't justify cost like that. Like 100 tops since I won't be going super often anyway. I was thinking maybe a lews rod. Does the Lews lfs cast really far?
It does!
Have you used sunlineâs System Leader FC100 and if so what is your opinion?
No, I use Seaguar

Ehh, maybe go longer

Yes
Tyler, I don't get the one rod and reel and then your fishing with a spinning rod reel combo..........????
Those fish catches were from when I was filming a live stream. Just wanted to put some fish catches in there for fun
whatâs your opinion on two pieces
Not a fan. One more place for the rod to have a problem on a hookset
What leader knot does he use?
Double uni right now, but Iâm learning the FG this week
what reel is that ? I looked up lews bb1 pro. Is yours an older model ?
Yes this is the older model. My reel for this type of topic has changed to this one: www.tacklewarehouse.com/Lews_Mach_Crush_SLP_Casting_Reels/descpage-MSLP.html?from=TYRF

Is the fishing in Wisconsin simpler to minesota
Similar
Yeah, pretty similar. More grass in Minnesota though
Whatâs the clip on the hat?
I believe ANGLR bullseye
whats the price for everything
Hey Tyler do you have Fishbrain?
No, I use ANGLR
TylersReelFishing oh really? Well I think you should try it. Iâll try that one
I like to keep it simple. I think every bass angler needs 4 rods. 1 spinning rod, and 3 casting rods. For the spinning rod, a 7â or 7â2 medium light, 3000 sized reel, and 15lb braid to a 8 or 10lb fluoro leader. Basically every lure that u could throw on a spinning rod, u can throw like Ned rigs, drop shots, tubes, small swim baits and more. For your all around casting rod, a 7â2 medium heavy with a 7.5:1 reel and 17lb fluoro. This one will allow you to throw jigs, chatterbaits, rattle traps, and basically every other lure. Then your second bait caster, a 7â medium with a reel in the 7s and 12lb fluoro. This will allow u to throw your Jerkbaits, weightless plastics, and square bills. Then for your final bait caster, a 7â2 heavy rod with an 8.3:1 reel, and 50lb braid. This will let u throw frogs, swim jigs, big top waters, and u can flip and pitch with it too.
What about if you only want 2 what would you go with
@@vvdreamsnagzvv7178I would go with a 7â medium spinning rod with a 2500 or 3000 sized reel, 15lb braid to 8lb fluoro leader. for your bait caster, a 7â to 7â 4â medium heavy fast action rod will be great. pair it up with a reel in the 7âs with 40lb braid to 15lb fluoro leader. That will cover about 90 percent of bass fishing. hope this helps

If you bank fish most of the time buy a shorter rod .eg 6'6" or else you'll be catching a lot of limb bream ! Not all ponds look like this one. You're trying to negotiate your casts under tree limbs.

Same
Impossible to know. Could be a number of things. Takes time. Keep watching videos. Look into some beginner series.
Quick question why do you have so many rods does each rod have its own purpose for u (no mean stuff)
Each rod is specially designed to work best for a certain technique or lure. Watch some of my tournament videos and you'll understand more
