    I held onto this rod for over a year before I really got to use it. I only have 1 TP1 Black rod and I want more!! I fell in love with the TP1 Black, paired with my hypermag when I started slinging hogs over the deck. I've use this for frogging, carolina rigs, and punching grass. The 7'4" pitchin stick is a great value. I

    Take it from a guy that owns an arsenal of Lews, Dobyns, Tatula Elites, Powells, and Phenix rods, I love my TP1 black. Only rod that I own duplicates of. Recently they're getting harder to find and online retailer's stock is low. Some models seem non-existent. Found this video while shopping around for a duplicate medium, medium action TP1 Black. Great all around rod, great bang for the buck rod.

    Appreciate the real review unlike all half of the other reviews that are done after a day or two of use. Not surprised at all, have been thorougly impressed with all my lews products and the customer service.

    Thanks for the honest review, I’m in the market for a good heavy action rod. But didn’t want to break the bank!! I use all lews products but I forgot about the TP1 black. Thank you for making this videos. Tight lines!!

    Fine fine you convinced me. I just ordered this exact rod and pairing it with a superduty in 8:3.1 for frogging and lite pitching

    I'm one of those guys who watched your review on the hank Parker rod and I own two now. I'm glad there's someone out there who truly appreciates Lew's products as much as I do.
    90% of what I use is primarily Lew's rods and reels, I can't afford the high end stuff but I've put together a line up of combos for all the techniques I do from Lew's combos.
    Love your videos man, lots of great information thank you!

      Well brother I'd treat yourself to a Hypermag some day....you'll love it. But I'd run those smash reels and Crush reels on anything.

    • @fishingwithvin
      @fishingwithvin Před 3 lety

      @@BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors I have the smash it's pretty good but that classic pro is just as good and cheaper.
      The Mach 1 is insane even better than the tournament MB imo. My favorite has been the Greg Hackney combo the reel is great but that rod is killer a lot like the Hank Parker, which I own two of each.
      That hypermag does look sexy in that chrome like finish though no denying it, I'm tempted to sell one of my rifles to get one lol
      Hey thanks for replying!

    Tp1 black is my favorite also. I have 3 and probably going to buy the 7'2" Jig rod next. Also looking forward to the new signature series rods from lews coming out this spring

    Lews rods and reels work well for me. My Father taught me to handle a rod with my dominant, in my case right, arm since reeling takes less strength than fighting the fish. I taught my son the same system and he has freely followed by teaching his own some 5he same method. Thak you for showing left hand retrieve reels.
    You also discuss different price points of your equipment. That is a great service to your viewers.

    I love my Lew's stuff. My couple LFS reels are straight up work horses. I tried other brands but I go right back with Lew's. I think my next reel I want to pick up is the new KVD series reels. I like the idea of his rod series as well cause they break down to lure or technique specific. Goal for myself is to get on the Lew's team down the road. Going to really be fun taking these combo's out on the Northern BFL's as a co-angler.

    • @BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors
      @BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      I haven't tried them yet, but Maybe I will. The LFS is a good reel, but I tell you i'd take all mach crush reels any day of the week!

    My favorite rod hands down. I paired my 7’ medium action with my Lew’s Pro TI for throwing Texas rigged Rage Baby Craws. Caught a 9 1/4 lb Channel Cat with it while kayak fishing for Smallmouth Bass. Handled that monster with no issue. It’s strong, light and sensitive. Highly recommend.

    TP1 Black is a fantastic rod!!!! I mainly use mine for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. I have the 7'0 MH. I have mine paired up with a Lew's Tourney Pro 6.8.

  • @jehill87
    @jehill87 Před 3 lety

    Changed to Lews couple years ago after watching some of your reviews. I use the tournament pro casting and spinning for almost everything except for cranking and punching I use super duty G for those technics.25 reels not a problem with any of them.

  • @aarondavis8224
    @aarondavis8224 Před 3 lety

    I almost bought this rod but I do run leaders sometimes so I ended up buying a HM60 lews custom series and a new KVD cranking rod. Im very happy. I dont have a hypermag but the Custom series paired with a Metanium MGL is super light weight and that rod is only $20 more than the TP1. Im really enjoying my KVD rods also, for $100 they cant be beat.

  • @sonnygreen9698
    @sonnygreen9698 Před 3 lety

    TP1 is one that you suggested way back when but they were the white ones at that time, I purchased 4 as well as the reels, I caught a 10.2 lb snakehead on the Potomac with that set up and it did very well, for a hundred dollar rod I agree that I don’t really care for the guides but the sensitivity really surprised me, I do want to try the medium for skipping baits, I think it would be a much better rod than the medium heavy but I couldn’t be happier with the TP1 series.

    I appreciate your review and agree with what you’re saying about the Lews products. The only reels I have on my boat these days are Lews. Most of my rods are Lews as well. My only issue with Lews, or maybe it’s the brick and mortar stores, but it’s almost impossible to find rods in the stores. I really wanted to see and feel the Pro ti rod, but the only way I can get my hands on it is if I order one? So my pitch is availability of the Lews products. I’m a Lews guy, all in! Thank you again!

    I've got approximately 15 Lews rods and reels. From the Hank Parker to Custom Lites and the Mark Rose Ledge series. My custom lites are workhorses. I always have a medium power rigged with either a finesse jig or 5/16 oz shaky head. In my opinion the casting reels are the best on the market. Their new skipping reel is crazy good for skipping docks.
