Anybody else realize this song is a suicide attempt and conclusion of tragic love told back in reverse? Had a lengthy debate with a friend about “the boy” and if his presence on the album is merely just a tragic depiction of a youth living with harsh life experiences, love lost, rejection and ultimately death in the age of social media consumption and the internet.
The 2nd part is so powerful and chilling like omg this song is a fucking masterpiece. Like yeah the beginning is beautiful but the ending should also be appreciated because my goodness is it chilling and a beauty
While I do enjoy the second part, donald shouldve made another full version of the first. It had so much potential to be really good and while the mix of the first and last part match the album, you usually arent going to listen through the entire album and rather listen to some songs individually like in a playlist or something. I'll end up listening to the song and really enjoying the first part and all of a sudden it takes a dark turn and just ruins the vibe the first part gives (which, as I said, in the album is perfectly fine as it matches the tone of the album).
