I love Camp so much, as much as I love all of Gambino's stuff. To me, it's such a special album not only because it is just plain AWESOME, but also because of how much Donald explores in it. Racism, loneliness, feelings of alienation, really personal stories, maturity, his general life philosophy. I love how much he is willing (as he explains in this song, kinda the thesis of the album) to just bare his soul. It's very brave and makes the whole thing work so well, and feel very human. Thanks Gambino, you rock.
That outro has so much depth. The one thing that people likely missed is that Childish left a certain part ambiguous. She was already gone when he woke up. She didn't even wait for the group of girls. He also mentioned that he didn't know she was friends with them. It would make sense that she isn't friends with those girls and don't know them. There is no way she could have hidden that or wanted to hide that for the entire summer. It is more likely that the girls overheard it and used it as an opportunity to clown him because Michelle already doesn't like him. However, that would still lead to him learning the same lesson. I think that is the reason he is still on the bus. It's easier to move on if you know you've been betrayed than to it is when you're not sure. This was brilliant storytelling.

my gosh, ive had this album saved in my phone for a solid 7 years and i dont know why I never got to the end of this song and man.... this hits home man. something like that happened to me years ago and it felt like Donald was talking about me. I love this song! everything from the instrumentals, the groovy guitar, pop drums and the background vocals. you can tell Gambino puts some roughness behind his bars when he's flowing. and he has a pretty good singing voice! then comes the outro. the emotions of the violin and the familiar background vocals come in, like a familiar friend. and then he comes around and rehearsal this lovely but then sad poem. this song just has so much groove and emotion! 8/10

I have this huge playlist of Childish Gambino songs to listen too, and I'm gaming and what not, when I hear Donald tell a story at the end of this video. Having never heard the entire thing for some reason, I just stop and listen to it. Holy fuck. I... I can relate to this story in so many ways, I wish I had heard this song years ago and maybe avoided the same mistake, but I don't know, this is just amazing. Wow, that just took my breath away...

The ending of this song is one of those moments that I can never come back from. I can already tell that my life and art will never be how it was before it.

You’ve never said, so I haven’t been saying anything all summer, content to enjoy the small miracle of a girl choosing to talk to me and choosing to do so again the next day and so on. A girl who’s smart and funny and who, if I say something dumb for a laugh, is willing to say something two or three times as dumb to make me laugh, but who also gets weird and wise sometimes in a way I could never be. I love this song! everything from the instrumentals, the groovy guitar, pop drums and the background vocals. you can tell Gambino puts some roughness behind his bars when he's flowing. and he has a pretty good singing voice! then comes the outro. the emotions of the violin and the familiar background vocals come in, like a familiar friend. and then he comes around and rehearsal this lovely but then sad poem. this song just has so much groove and emotion!
