Wharton is incredibly lucky to have Dr. James at the helm going forward. All the best to her in this new amazing position.

Increasing minimum wage, reducing govt austerity to invest in poor children education/health is what will create substantial talent in the lower strata of the society in the long run. Individual brilliances without resources are exceptions not the rule!! It boils down to reducing the wealth gap facilitating social mobility. That would surely raise a lot of eyebrows!!!
A lot gets talked about diversity at the workplace/government, etc. It is a temporary measure and a trap that perpetuates inequally/status quo. It is an escape route for the government not to spend on poor , children education/health!!! This has to be recognised.

Mike Salka There are UBIC(Universal basic income) studies . Please study them before you make assumptions about poor behaviour.

Mike Salka Study government tax collections to understand who pays how much before you call UBI a theft. I can understand the resistance to UBI since it is a rather unconventional idea. But then the times have changed. Technology is rapidly replacing humans. Well it is a prelude to a rather long topic.
Anyway, When you make personal comments it shows your intellectual bankruptcy!! Don't get yourself into that place if you want to engage in an educated conversation!!

Excellent! Being a woman is hard. Being black is hard. Being both at the same time sounds nearly impossible.

Pumped that Wharton has a black woman as its new Dean. It’s a breakthrough.
But let’s be honest, this person answers questions like a corporate robot.
If her strongest advice to young ppl is to always bet on yourself, why is she leading a system that trains them to rely on corporate America for their advancement?
Why wouldn’t she lead an organization that focuses on training entrepreneurs?

Congratulations! It's just too bad though that Wharton's most famous alum is Trump. Wharton should fix its admissions policy to allow more inclusivity across socio-economic lines and not just allow the Trumps of the world to buy their degrees.

No she got there because of merit. There are persons of color with talent. Nice try though!
