Step under r1m but above the R1. Only made em a few yrs.
@Hoodsolo I read your comment wrong hahaha I thought it said it only came out in 2017 lol you are right even here it was only for a few years and now they are selling for way more then a brand new R1
The R1S came with cast aluminum wheels instead of the magnesium Wheels and it came with the stainless steel exhaust instead of titanium

My fave I'd buy the S then throw titanium connecting rods and ecu flash and all the other performance parts.
I'd like to see some ###'s after a high performance cam set are installed.
I'm really looking at purchasing a R1 or the MT10. Love the sound of them.

I vote mt10 over R1. I’ve owned both and kept my mt10.
Get it tuned with a full exhaust and it’s absolutely savage and much more comfortable and usable.
you may want to check out carillo rods if you have concerns of the stk rods holding up......

When you send it in are you able to put the pops and bangs on it as well or is that just on the dyno ?
I had my ecu flashed and requested to have the pops and bangs on mine but it doesn't pop and bang like some of the bikes I've seen on these videos
In your opinion you have dyno alot of different bikes. Which 1000cc sportbike stock had most hp before flash

Yes, there is a procedure, but I don't remember what it is. I know it was simple and easy to do. I had my Moore Mafia ECU flashed a few years ago. Best to call his shop or send them an email.

At least 20 less HP, similar torque at lower RPM’s. Chris did one recently.

The MT10 uses the same CP4 engine as the R1, its just detuned a little which can be fixed with a good tune
@@RapidRedRider Uh not exactly. Based on the same engine. Different internals.
@@Doncan0823 the engine internals are made of different materials, but same engine. I just sold my 2017 MT10 last year since I hardly ever road it, i get way more use out of my MT09.
what did you not like about it? Im in the market for maybe an mt10 or zh2. I have concerns about doing highway miles as my previous mt09 was a little weak in that regard@@RapidRedRider

Weird at first but once you get it you will be asking yourself why did I wait so long. Plus if you track your bike a quick shifter and gp shift is a must, IMHO

All that money on a tune and mods only to shoot a rod through the block
I've done it to my 2016 R1S and still have it to this day with 59,567KM on it not sure what that is in miles but still going. As long as you don't set it pass 13000RPM and do regular maintenance you'll be fine.
Because factory tunes that have been reduced 15% for bureaucratic environmental agencies are super cutting edge and borderline block-busting. 🙄
It should be illegal to sell bikes that have been set up to fail to people. They run so lean from the factory that you have to get it tuned just to make it healthy, making it faster is just a bonus
Speaking of legalities, it's the emissions and noise regulations that DO this to everything. I've seen 16:1 air-fuel ratios on dynos who've run sniffers on the exhaust during tuning. That is ridiculous. I personally think that so much rare-earth and mineral money is being made in catalytic converters and all the red tape manufacturers have to get through to certify motorcycles, that the EPA doesn't care that people end up spending $2 grand more to re-tune things after purchase. They made their heap of regulatory money and it's out of the customer's pocket. Now the customer is throwing even MORE money away to tune the engine back to a functional and safe level (which also makes more power).
