Sensei Garrett, my Sensei was Edward Hines 4th Dan, Direct student of Hohan Soken in 1972. Was Air Force member stationed in Kadena. I was fortunate to have learned the old style of Shorin Ryu Kenshin Khan. A class mate of Sensei was now Master Fuse Kise.

Thank you for the video I will pass it on to my students.I was taught Okinawan Shorin Ryu from Eugene Davis jr. who was taught by Hohan Soken and Fusei Kise. and I earned my Black Belt Under him. I also trained in Okinawa at Kadena AFB with both Hoan and Kise.They gave me their new patch at that time with both their names on it.(You can find a video of it on CZcams under AST karate). I am O' Sensei Jimmy Gough the founder of American Shorin Ryu Training in Inglewood, CA. Good Job

Can someone direct me to a Sensei in Texas, I trained in this style of martial arts as a kid & would like to continue , For training purposes, I am not into professional point counting. I would like to continue & evolve. Please refer me to a Great Dojo. Also would like to take Jeet Kun Do. If possible. As a bodyguard it’s important to be able to defend properly. Without using deadly force. I want to open my own Protection Service in the near future. Would like to be more Grounded in the Art.

Was Shorin ryu another name for Shuri-te? Or is Shorin Ryu just a specific school of Shuri-te?
Did you see the business card I posted. Another old name as well. There are many Shuri-Te styles. It’s the name Hohan Soken came up with in 60s...
