Jesus basically taught the same thing. He said to leave everything behind and follow him, meaning all material wealth/discard it. I am just surprise that modern day churches that preach teachings of Jesus don't really follow them. The churches were always about the money and never really about the teachings of Jesus. Doesn't shock me any that this Gospel was banned, because the Church never cares about Salvation, they just care about cash-money. Jesus also said to turn away from the church and not follow the Church but irony once more, people go around and build a religion around Christ. Funny isn't it?

The Church was once the place of worship, however, due to Jesus dying for all of our sins on the Cross, he is now within all of us as he is no longer consciously "among us" in the flesh, therefore being again apart of ALL of us. ALL WE ARE ALL ONE. In my opinion, this means the church has not bee the place of worship since he was murdered. The "temple" or "church" of today is found within. In my opinion, anyways. The Catholic church officially changed Mary Magdalene's status in the church. Although they have acknowledged for years that she was not the "prostitute", in 2016 they formally named her the "Apostle of the Apostles". Interesting turn of events that took centuries. Also, several of the books that you mention are from the Nag Hammadi Library (which I'm sure you know). And I've heard the story of Yaldabaoth before. How he came from an older universe of deities. He was created but was so hideous and monster-like he was cast into darkness. That's why the Bible starts with "first their was darkness". Interesting stuff for sure. And I agree if Christ was here he would be telling us not to get so hung up on the details because we're missing the bigger picture.

In Romans 16:1, Paul mentions Phoebe, a female deacon or servant in the church. In other books, he refers to woman that held churches in their houses, such as Nympha in Colossians 4:15 and Chloe in 1 Corinthians 1:11.

Well the reason it wasn't included in Cano (not banned, by the way), is that it is not consistent with other gospels and teachings, and was thought to be a forgery. Just because it exists doesn't mean it's truth.

I just don't like to see this attitude that since the gospel of Mary (or Thomas, etc) was not included, it must be truth that the church did not want us to know. Um, is there any evidence for that? It sounds like it says something different but what if it says the same thing in a different way? Is there a sin or no sin? What if it is perceived differently but the same experience. For instance if someone who is interested in growth and knowledge and has empathy for the world and its constituents - if you had to view your life at the end and judge yourself, you would probably view it as a major growth experience as opposed to a hellish experience. If you are a person who just takes the saying that there is no sin and runs with it without understanding what it actually means, your experience of having to watch yourself treat the rest of the world and it's other beings like trash would be awful. Not only is their record of notes going to be longer, but also the depth of the experiences you will have to experience yourself in a worse way so you can learn with the answers since you didn't learn while you were there.
Kind of like how twins can be next to each other nearly every second of their life viewing and hearing the same life humming away, yet they can have totally different ideas that they have gathered from the environment. One can remember a situation being frightening and the other thought it was the adventure of a lifetime. The same thing happened but it was taken in and spit out into two separate truths that then act as another little bubble of chaos that makes you different whenever you look at different situations. One person has a scar and their psyche and believes the devil put it there, the other holds the same memory in the highest regard as if it has its own pedestal and people carrying it. It becomes the pillar of their adventure-seeking life. They literally went through life together side-by-side except to go to the bathroom.
