    Wow, great information. I have been suffering from my neck pain a lot lately. I can't even read looking down so long. I can't even do the dishes so long. I was told my physical therapist once that I needed neck strengthening exercises. I actually tried to sleep without a pillow last night. It actually felt better. Thanks. I have punched the "like" button and started to subscribe your channel from today.

    Thank you! I’ve been unable to move my neck for 4+ months and simply sleeping on my back and stomach are helping greatly. Especially feel the stretch in my neck when sleeping on my stomach. Surprisingly I wake up with just a little more mobility. Now if I start doing all the neck stretches on the regular maybe it will go away…🤞🙏

    I'm so glad I found this video. I mostly slept without a pillow since childhood, but the problem is that I'm a side sleeper. I have chronic migraine, tension headaches, and bad pasture that I'm working on correcting. I'm focusing on sleeping on my back now and really thought I should invest in a good pillow. I'm glad to know now that I don't.
    It's ok that the neck has no support while sleeping on your back? I thought that would build tension... I'm also glad to see that sleeping on the stomach is OK, because I love to sleep on my stomach.
    I'm going to watch more of your videos to see what other tips you have 👌🏽

      Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙏😊 It's great that you take responsibility for your health by changing your sleeping position. 💪 If you sleep on your back and stomach, it's absolutely fine that your neck is not supported by a pillow. It's even better for your neck as this is the position in which your cervical spine is able to straighten the rest of the spine and release any built up tension. Please get more detailed explanations as well as further pain management tips and instructions for a pain-free and healthy sleep in the following guide. 👉🙂 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-backpainsleep

    When people work at their desks, their mid back hunches, their neck flexes forward as a result, and they compensate with chin lift to get their eyes back up. This means they hinge at the c1-c2 vertebrae, not the whole neck. Thats why there is overwhelming kyphosis (hunched neck) with desk workers. Its not an "extended" neck problem.

    • @Liebscher.Bracht_EN
      @Liebscher.Bracht_EN  Před 2 lety

      Hi there,
      thanks for sharing your opinion. 🙏 We definitely agree with you that working at a desk in this described one-sided position can lead to kyphosis. But in our opinion it is caused by too much tension in your muscles and fasciae that builds up due to our sedentary routines and poor posture, which can be found throughout the neck (and extend it), not only around the c1-c2 vertebrae. 🙂 Please learn more about this cause, the symptoms, and best treatment options of a hunchback / kyphosis in this article. 👉🙂 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-ephunch Give it a read and if there is anything unclear, or if you have other questions, just contact us again!

    Why then does literally every single physio on this website alone recommend the McKenzie roll support pillow be put inside a pillow case to support the neck when sleeping, especially when you are having neck pain issues?? Are they all wrong?? This is the ONLY video I have seen that says a neck roll is not recommended. I will keep using one thanks. Better some support than ZERO support.

    I sleep on my back on a Japanese floor futon. I don't like pillows. Was recently sleeping with a buckwheat neck roll. The first night felt good like it was stretching my neck back into position. But now it is making my neck stiff. I don't like pillows, but I don't like that without a pillow it seems my chin curves down too much instead of my head staying straight overnight.

      Hi there 🙂
      Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! 🙏 We think it's great that you prefer sleeping without a pillow, because this supports the spine to remain straight and release muscular-fascial tension in your back and neck. Don't worry about your chin curving down, since when you move your chin towards your chest, this is perfect for compensating your muscular-fascial tension and shortening in the front of your body. 💪🙂 You'll get a more detailed explanation of this in the following video. 😊👉 czcams.com/video/wAzS_GI_WYM/video.html

    Hello! your videos are super clear, fun to watch and soothing too. Subscribed and liked. I'm a product designer designing a cervical traction pillow for a client and i'm a bit doubtful on it's purpose now : sleeping without a pillow brings the neck in towards the shoulder, but cervical traction pillows make your head go even farther from the shoulders ahead. So why do these cervical traction pillows even exist? If all they do is push your head away from the shoulders ? Your help would be much appreciated, and once again, thank you so much!

      Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words and thoughts with us, Bran! 🙌😊
      Unfortunately, we aren't much help, since in our opinion, the best pillow is no pillow at all! 🙏 It doesn't matter if you sleep on your back or on your stomach, just don't use any pillow at all underneath your head for optimum pain relief after sleeping. If you lie down without any pillow, your spine can remain straight and release any built-up tension in your neck and back muscles. 💪🙂 For more details and tips for a pain-free sleep, please give this article a read. 😊👉 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-backpainsleep

    - What is that you’re using in your video for side-sleeping, and where/how do I get it?
    - If I am both a back and side sleeper, and am not aware of the transitions from back to side in my sleep, how do I operate with that, since I feel more need for more support for my neck while on my side, (and as you demonstrated in your video)?
    I’m not sure if I will be able to both grab and remove the rolled up item while sleeping. Any suggestions?

    Thank you for the video! I've watched many videos about sleeping, and this is the first one that says not to use a cervical pillow. I'm going to try it for the next couple of days, but I'm worried that lying on my back with no pillow under the neck will bend my chin forward and block my airway which will result in sleep apnea or snoring. When I use a cervical neck pillow my neck is straight in the front and so I don't have trouble with snoring or breathing. What are your thoughts/suggestions? Thank you!

    • @Liebscher.Bracht_EN
      @Liebscher.Bracht_EN  Před 3 lety +2

      You're most welcome, Mark! 🙏 It's great that you're going to try this sleeping position for a pain-free sleep. 💪😴 Regarding your concern about sleep apnea or snoring:
      We suggest you to tilt your chin down towards your chest. This could help you to prevent snoring. 😊 At the beginning you could also put a little pillow under your upper head, but just at the top, not in your neck. This will help your body to get used to this new sleeping position. Try to reduce the height of the pillow step by step, until you're able to sleep without any pillow at all. 🤗
      Just give it a try and let us know how you got on, we'd love to hear from you again! 🙌😍

      Hi Mark,
      sorry I got that wrong! Sure, bending your chin forward would make it more difficult. But don't worry about sleeping without a pillow, your body can still breathe properly. It just sucks that i cant sleep the whole night on my sides. I have to roll on my back atleast once or else i wont be able to fall asleep! You're absolutely right, your bed and mattress can also have a significant impact on your sleeping position. We recommend to sleep on a mattress that is as hard as possible, because a hard surface supports the spine to remain straight and to release muscular-fascial tension in your back. Hi Justin,
      thanks for your comment! We're sorry for the English translation and dubbin. We know it's not perfect! We've just started to internationalise and therefore, we don't have English original voices for every video yet. But we definitely understand that this is annoying, which is why we're already working on a better solution and want to apologise for it. We suggest that you could read our written instructions and tips for a pain-free sleep in this article instead, if it's bothering you too much. 👉🙂 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-backpainsleep
      Best wishes,
