I listened to this hoping it would put me to sleep but instead I find myself learning something and starting to ask myself philosophical questions such as why the human body is so amazingly complex yet so thoughtfully designed ... I should call in sick tomorrow morning.

Good sir, you have liberated me from the inept teaching practices of my university. You are so much better at explaining particular things in regards to respiratory physiology than my professor will ever be. I have an exam on this content Monday and you covered in an hour what my professor tried to cover in 7 hours of lecture. You are very straight to the point and have a tone of voice that keeps me interested throughout your lecture. All I want to say is thank you and God bless you for posting this content free of charge, advancing the understanding and comprehension of this content for hundreds of thousands of people. You truly are a blessing.
    Sincerely,
First year Nursing student who hated Physiology with a burning passion until watching this video.

Regarding cilia and smoking: Cilia does in fact regenerate after one stops smoking. However, depending on the level of damage to the cilia due to smoking, it may take additional time to grow back. What CAN happen as a result of smoking, is the development of scarred tissue due to frequent irritation, this of course is permanent.
