    Is inspiratory stridor the same thing as a monophonic wheeze?

      Yes, I think it's the same. It's an interesting take on the whole stridor thing.
      Stridor or monophonic wheeze seems to be only happening when there is a single airway blocked. Inspiratory stridor when the upper airway is blocked and expiratory stridor when a single lower airway is blocked.
      Polyphonic wheeze seems to be happening when multiple airways are blocked, for example in COPD or asthma. Of course this one is only mostly expiratory because blockage of multiple airways can only happen in the lower respiratory system such as the bronchies.
