Holly’s stories are as wonderful as her art♥️ I cried thinking about wanting my stuffed animals to be real so that they would know how much I loved them! Not the book exactly but my own little world in relation to the story 🥹 No Roses was the only Harry book I remember reading. I laughed so much! Kissing hand is SO precious. Francis’ parents were amazing ! Kind but firm♥️ Buenos Noches Luna 🌙
For books I read to the boys, my oldest LOVED The Fire Engine, which was an adorable Golden Book board book. We wore that out! And also Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. 😭😭😭❤❤❤

I totally grew up with the Mother Goose books and the whole set of Peter Rabbit, funny enough my mother kept that collection and it was so tattered but I couldn't give it up, until my mother-in-law sporadically bought the whole set for my children randomly one day! I am a huge fan of nursery rhymes and have been borrowing some from the library and catch my kids singing the Three Little Kittens lately is so nostalgic. We are huge Robert Munsch fans - Thomas' Snowsuit and the Paper Bag Princess. But boys love the construction so we have been enjoying Goodnight goodnight Construction Site and for my older son The Book with No Pictures (hilarious fun through and through)! Thanks for this video! Love love love this idea!
The Giant Jam Sandwich is a great book I don't hear anyone talk about. I'm glad I have my family's old copy for my kids. Also, my kids love all the Tacky the Penguin books. Another gem that isn't mentioned. Thanks for bringing attention to them!

Other favorites were We Help Daddy, Corduroy, Harold and the Purple Crayon, Flutterby, the Richard Scarry books, and Disney books of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Edited to add: I'd often get Curious George and Babar books from the library.

💖 so many I loved here, I haven't thought about the Little Fur Family in ages. Spinal Meningitis! I don't remember know you went through that, it must have been terrible. I can see how that could have created a strong connection with books.
Little fur family has not been as enduring as Goodnight Moon by MWB, & I don’t get that! I was 18 months old when I had SM. I have memories of it because it was so traumatic. They’re just snippets but they are actual - my Mama & grandma confirmed them when I asked as a teenager. Neither of them would ever talk about it because it was so intense for them also.
Oh my, memories. Even though I don't recall reading all of these books, I remember the styles. I know we're close in age. Did you ever hear of Gretchen and the White Steed by Irwin Shapiro? I don't know that it's a board book. I've never come across it as an adult or heard anyone else mention it. But in about grade 3 I read that book- signed out from the school library - so very many times! So nice thinking of the ones I and my children loved.

I had a mama and grandma who kept notes about about my tastes (books food animals etc) and was told often of my obsession with certain things 😂 Curious George and Babar are making an appearance in the next video 😌

Richard Scary is a multigenerational classic! I loved busy town because I didn’t have to read it and it would keep the kids busy for hours!
