The straighter/more space for the big toe is an important key benefit of the Thurman lasts, contributing to comfort.

Nicks needs to add the Thurman option to the 11067 last as well!!!

Are you guys ever going to offer a composite toe with the Thurman last, or is that going to be just a dream? I know Keen has some odd toe shapes, but they still offer safety toe for their footwear. It's just a sad reality not being able to have that level of ergonomics with the option of a safety toe for those who need it for their work.

This video should be redone with a proper outline organizing the information. Nicks has 7 basic lasts shapes, not 3. Also the "sprung toe" is not the only difference between the 11067 and 55 (no 3 toe, not "regular").

I found “my last” a year before they announced Munson lasts, the 11067.
I’m unsure what the difference is between the 11067 and “Munson 55” lasts.

the 11067 is a sprung toe last (toes curl upward even when new) and has a lot more height in the toe box. the thurman 55 isnt sprung toe and doesnt have the same bump height, its mostly just wider in the toebox

Didn't the old fit sheets map this out for you?

I have already ordered Thurman last BuilderPro boots but would have found this video useful. I was wondering how the Thurman last would affect the size or width of boot I ordered and couldn't find any additional info on this so I ordered my usual width and half a size down from my usual shoe length. But I'm thinking I may have needed to go a size narrower with that last due to the wider toe box. I guess I will find out.

Give them a call. I too have ordered boots. The boot I ordered was in the HNW last. After I saw this video I called and asked for the Thurman "toe" since they indicated in the video that this was a possibility. The individual on the phone, Sarah, checked with a supervisor and they said no problem.
All my shoes are wide E to 4E depending on brand. Hope this was not a mistake, but I can always wear thicker socks, vs to tight and not enjoying. Best of luck

Is the Thurman compatible with the 11067? I need additional height and width in the toe box while maintaining a narrow waist for arch support. Is there any way to accomplish that without a sprung toe? I worry the sprung toe will cause issues with my gait. I'm also curious if there would be a celastic option to prevent the toe box from shrinking over time?

What's the advantage or disadvantages of a sprung toe?

More room to move your toes up and down

The sprung toe allowes your foot to "roll" forward when walking. This can be more comfortable, especially with extra rigid boots. It also more vertical space for your toes, while keeping the same volume (ball of the foot circumference).

What is the purpose of a sprung toe?

    • @nicksboots

The 11067 sprung toe is a great choice for people that are on inclines, you have the ability to flare your toes up and down more.
