the money spending tho... it's getting quite out of hand. The rich don't see it but the average casual fan does, the fan can't relate. It's all about just winning and whatever cost. Like buying a championship, whoever puts out the most money. Well, I'm glad it actually doesn't work that way, usually. I love it when these types of teams fall... it proves with this method it's not guaranteed. You still have to play ball on the field, and perform. That's why those Cinderella teams that get hot come playoffs can be the most scary... and usually they don't have the highest payroll.

Mets fan here, this spending is a bridge til the youngsters which 3 are already on the roster get ready and are slowly groomed in. They have 7 draft picks in the 1st 5 rounds in the upcoming draft as well. Once a deep farm system is developed you wont be seeing the crazy spending anymore.
Mets are going for a chip now in the next few years and kept their prospects too for future

He’s been injury ridden in the beginning of his career and I don’t see that getting much better as he AGES. If the Mets can get a World Series out of him, it’s def worth it tho. It’s a risk tho

We're you a Yankee fan in the 80's? Yankee fans wanted him gone.. He spent like a drunken sailor and we didn't win anything. It's not until Steinbrenner got banned were the Yankees able to build a sustainable product that 30 plus years later have finished with an above. 500 record and 5 chips. No other baseball team can claim that the last 3 decades.

And if he was in charge before they built that dynasty we probably wouldn't have had Mo or Jeter. Trust me I saw what he used to do. He traded away HOF type talent over the years. The foundation for the last 30 plus years was laid because of his suspension. This is why he's looked at differently by older fans because they know.

Its crazy how when the mets had such a dominant pitching staff and the coupons were so cheap. They didnt have to spend anywhere near this amount to help win a world series. Now that cohen is in charge of running the team and is willing to do anything to help this team is incredible. He made promises when he took over and delivered on every single one. As an astros fan im a little surprised the deals that correa is getting. Correa is a dog no doubt amd he a guy who steps up in the playoffs. But at the same time he a pretty average baseball player. Albert oujols got 10 years and he was the best player of his generation and it STILL turned out to be a bad deal
