You pretty much perfectly described how I feel about Infinite's campaign. The only thing I partially disagree with is retiring Master Chief. I don't think they should, but I wouldn't dislike it if they did.
@@MrFrootcakeOfficial I fully acknowledge that I'm probably in the minority with that. But if the next Halo really knocks it out of the park, my feelings may change
I almost agreed with you until you said Chief's story should end. Also open world does work, but it needs to be more like ODST. Not like what they did.
@@jhnyjoejoe69 i definitely don't expect a lot of people to agree with me on the chief. But like I said, I like the campaign of this game enough that I'm curious to see what he does next

"They decided to make weapons have different roles... plasma deals more damage to shields, bullets deal more damage to health" This has been a trait in all Halo games, you're praising Infinite for doing the bare minimum
"This ring is different" repeated every 10 minutes with 0 examples of how or why its different. Halo infinite is effectively a far cry reskin. The gameplay rocks but the campaigns story is effectively save the pilot, kill the brute, kill the harbinger. Early on it felt like it was gonna be something about how john has gotten old and tired of the constant war in his life. That was at least the vibe i got from his tone. But the story is big time butt cheeks hands down and doesn't explore that at all. I feel like the standard in gaming has gotten so low nowadays that people are ecstatic to be able to play something that is at least mediocre. The best part in the story is Cortonas message to Master Chief. But beyond that theres about as much character exploration as a book cover
There are many reasons why it's difirent than the other rings. Multiple monitors, cylexes, the rings reformation abilities along with the silent auditorium and the endless. Let alone all the lore related to The Flood.

The artstyle, the music and VA are the only good things about the Campaign.
This Campaign has no story whatsoever, nothing happens in it.

The story of infinite was barely existent fr you can tell their main focus was a fun single player experience and not continuing this story smh
