It may not be the most practical gun ever made. But it sure as hell is the most badass gun to ever grace cinema.
Well, it was practical for it's time
Eh.. It was extremely practical for when it hit the market in 1873.
If you're fast enough on fanning the revolver it can be faster than a semiauto pistol, of course, there's a lot of factors too, the entire revolver has to be modified on the inside to shoot fast too, but the ability of the shooter it's what counts the most
Honestly i love more to see Barney shooting in this style with his colt than Ethan hunt jumping off the cliff in Mission Impossible franchise
If you can't solve a problem with six bullets, you won't be able to solve it with 12
Jerry Miculek could. He'll double mag dump anyone in 2.99 seconds.
what about it the problem was 12 people
That behind the back holster must be hell riding in a jeep on a bumpy road. Kidney punched from start to finish
Mike Venturino, a famous gun writer for numerous firearms and old west magazine, stated that the Colt Single Action Army is the fastest firearm to shoot off the draw than any other handgun, including modern day guns. I don't know if that's true, I doubt it, but I'm pretty sure with practice someone with a SAA can out shoot someone with a competition glock. That'd be cool to see.
Look up Bob Munden, Cisco Master Gunfighter and TUCOtheratt on YT.
@@puertoricancinemas9492 Cisco is good...but Bob Munden is a God that will probably never lose his title of the fastest gun that ever lived.
yeah… i dont know if anyone beat fastdraw records with a pistol.
Well I really see a man do a 3 round burst with his SAA so I’m no doubt
Say what you will about round capacity and the inability to load six on most versions of it but the Single Action Army will forever be the coolest Handgun ever made .And seeing people make it work modernly , in fiction or real Life , is always a treat .
How did only one or two Armed Forces ever adopt it ? .
"Six bullets. More then enough to kill anything that moves." Revolver Ocelot, Metal Gear Solid.
You could load all 6 rounds on all versions...just had to be a little extra careful with the early versions or lose a toe 🤣
@@fry997 but he carries three revolvers, that is 18 bullets, yet he still cant skill snake, lol
Two people that are a lot better at fanning a SAA...Clint Eastwood and me.😀
Add Bob Munden and Ernie Hill to that list.
I like the scene in Expendables 3 where Sly emptied his 6 gun on Mel Gibson then giving his last shot to Gibson. You just cut out Sly quoting after shooting Gibson, "I am The Hague!"
I’ve fallen in love with the expendables quick 6 shot
The Stallonesome Cowboy.
He uses colt 45. ACP at 0:54 and 1:31, but I'll let that slide
The best use was in the 3rd. When Barney is on his own, but as viewers, we know of his revolver. I his back, and feels very western that scene.
Then, when he uses it to kill Stonbanks, he feels very last resort. He's desperate, having to be as quick as he can!
that was a Ruger
What is that thing called that he wears on his left hand when he fans that hammer?
Dang rocky ended boxing for this
Why does he keep using his left hand as well ?
Because he's fanning the gun.
The peacemaker was a single action revolver. Have to pull the hammer back to make the trigger usable to shoot. If not fanning then it's usually done with the thumb of the shooting hand.
Hm hm hm hmm… if you know you know ;)
