You have no idea how much of a relief it is to have someone confirm that most of the working day is 'being busy, not productive' with the real value coming from 20% of what you do. I feel so guilty about that. I also totally relate to doing the best work at night, when everything is quiet. It's like the entire day I'm building up ideas and then after dinner I actually have enough material to fire up the mental engine and create value.

i do my deepwork everyday for 2-3 hours
and THAT 2-3 hours is super super high value. and then if i wanna learn something else after those hours it will just be shallow work.
@LexClips One issue I would like to point out with highly structured days. I find that if I have a real issue Im trying to debug/fix and I previously assigned 4h on that. Even though I should be following my plan, I simply can’t switch context until I solve the issue at hand.
I just love when someone says that time is an illusion. Just try telling that to the person doing logistics work to keep the supply chain running.
It is still an illusion. It's not the supply chain manager's/worker's fault that other people take the illusion so seriously! It is a useful illusion/construction/abstraction however
