Purchase an Apple AirTag and put it inside your suitcase. If you're traveling with multiple bags, get a four pack of AirTags and give each one a diffrent name. Also, have a unique looking luggage tag on the outside of your suitcase complete with your contact information. This can be anything from the tag itself being brightly colored to it being in the shape of a fictional character or symbol from your favorite book, movie, TV show, or video game. The luggage tags on my suitcase, for example, have a black and white photo of a race horse on them.

Write your name and cell phone number on a piece of paper and put it in the luggage and that way if it gets lost, someone may find it and call you.

I only travel with a carry-on & a backpack. Learn to pack small and wear your dress heavy if going to a cold place.

I had this happen to me when I was coming back from Christmas vacation. The connection window for my flight back to San Jose from Long Beach was extremely small and as a result my bag was left behind at Long Beach Airport. Thanks to an Apple AirTag that I had purchased, I could tell where it was in real time. I filed a lost luggage report with Southwest Airlines and four days later, SJC delivered it right to my door. You cannot imagine my relief when I was reunited with my bag!
