I've got this one and i've never felt like i've been disappointed in it at all. These things are tanks. I've been out hiking, shooting, I went on a 5 day backpacking trip in the idaho wilderness with it. It holds up really well. Might not be a Gucci tactical watch like a Suunto or G Shock, but I paid 18 dollars for something that's stood up to stuff that broke a friend's Suunto. Good watch.

I had an motocycle accident with this stainless steel version of this...broke my leg pretty bad,still on external fixator,thats how bad it is..had this watch grind on highway surfaces,only had scratch on screen,still standing,still wearing it...what a champ

Only took a few minutes to figure it out to set it up without using instructions definitely recommend this for the price hopefully I’ll still feel the same after wearing it for awhile.it feels like acrylic not glass to me as a side note!
Even 4 years later, this watch is great (mostly as a "beater" watch as you put it) ... but, now that we're in a Pandemic period, unless you have friends and family like you do, it's not worth tracking any other time zones as this watch does fantastically. Thanks for sharing 😄👍🏼
Just got one of these - the stainless steel version. I've got a few watches ranging from Omega and Tag Heuer, to Armitron, but the Casio's are fabulous every dayer's This 'Royale' looks great. I have a couple of chunky G Shocks too, but there's something really cool and retro about this watch. I bought my daughter the CA-53 calculator watch at Christmas because she loved the retro look, and this watch gives has the same effect - takes me back to my youth! £29.99 in the UK...absolute bargain.

I have the silver version. Is around 45-50$ here in Sweden. Watches are very expensive over here. But I still think it's worth it, even worth more tbh. Much value for the money. Even tough I regret buying mine just because I don't use it that much because I have many other beaters. And I would go for the black one instead, I think the silver looks better but the black has a better bracelet if you want to use it while training or chasing bad guys while working for the MI6 etc.
Great beater watch, this past week I went on a trip and forgot my watch at home, I picked up this watch’s flashier version at a Walmart for $25 USD, silver case with a stainless band. AE1200WHD-1A
My favorite watch of the 22 I own. I have the silver version, and I think i’ll order another two or three to give as gifts because I love it so much for its value and look and the fact that it’s tied to Bond is just the cherry.
Wal-Mart sells a $12 dark brown leather band that is 18mm but flares outside of the lugs 1mm and each side that is exactly like the original resin strap at the lugs. The brown leather strap with a dark varigation looks great.

I own a Seagull 1963 42mm column wheel panda with sapphire, a Vostok Amphibia, a Poljot De Luxe, a Slava MIG29, and a few old Seiko 5s along with this Casio AE1200, but this one is surely my beater watch, and probably the one that gets most wrist time as I work in a shared service back office, so we don't really have to dress formally at all. Just a great watch that you can always coumt on, and don't have to worry about. Probably my favourite watch, and most definitely the best value watch of all.

I'm seeing in the watch community that there is starting to be a backlash against the smartwatch. People are getting tired of the fact that the watch needs to be charged every night, and 90% of people only use one complication and that's the time! I have some very nice and pricey watches, but what's on my wrist right now? Well, it's the venerable F-91W. I do like the AE1200 as it's the F-91W if they perfected it.
I bought one recently. Got it 7 dags ago. Looks good. Yesterday it leaked! 100 m WR and it leaked after 1 sec water from the fosset! Never heard of a Casio leaking. Can't find it on internet either. Bought from a Swedish online store. Chinese knockoff? I think the problem is "Made in China". My first/other Casio was a Twin Graph II from 1987. Made in JAPAN. Worked in all weathers and conditions for 25 years! This one for 6 days. Have and other come across this?

Very few of them about in the UK at the moment, not even on the Casio site - don't know if they've discontinued them 🤔. I ended up buying one from Amazon America for £37. Be a couple of weeks before it gets here 🤞. Then I'll wear it au naturel stainless for a while before experimenting with the mods ( possibly). Thanks again 😁👍. I bought this one, the silver version in 2008...Didn't wear it for more than 10 times in all these years, as the watch looked small on me...Just wanna say, it's been 10 years now, this watch is stilling sitting in my drawer ticking times away...So the 10 years battery must be true...And the battery has no sign of wearing out except that the orange backlight has dimmed just a little bit...
Check out the 5600 square g shocks. They're probably just as slim as this watch. I got a 5610 recently and it's my new favorite. Practically indestructible
That's not mineral glass. If you want to buy it, maybe you want to know that there are two (at least) resin black models. The other one with green map and gold display looks better if you'll ask me.

You are correct but for $20 bucks, you can't expect to get mineral glass. For scratches, a tube of PolyWatch works just fine at removing any scratches.

Hi. mine came with japan time advanced 1 hour. I adjusted the time to Bangkok time and reduced back to 1 hour, but the other time zone is not automatically adjusted. any idea how to adjust them all?
Timex Classic 100. Has a cdt that can be set to stop/autorepeat/start chrono at end of countdown AND a 9 step interval timer with same end features. Both timers can be set independently.

This is really an amazing little watch that's become iconic. I've had several of these over years and was recently gifted another.
Wish Casio would make it with a steel case, solar and waveceptor. I don't think I'd ever buy another watch.

Polywatch is great for removing light scuffs and scratches, look on u tube for tutorials on best procedures.
