This enhanced port of Monster Hunter Stories is a refreshing, low-stakes, turn-based RPG I'm eager to spend more time on ahead of the more large-scale releases arriving later this year. The gameplay systems, which I'll dive into during the review, are intuitive and addictive, with the presentation impressively feeling at home on a console.
Regardless of whether you played the sequel or are a fan of the mainline Monster Hunter entries, this resurgence of Monster Hunter Stories is worth keeping an eye out for when it's released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on June 14, 2024.

Pixel Perfect: (coming soon!) - Hry
The visuals look so clean now, I'm loving it! Played this back on 3ds and I cant wait to go back, though hearing them speak is gonna take some getting used to, I'm hoping we can switch between the voices and the original dialogue noises.
I can't wait to replay this and Stories 2 on my PS5. Especially this one for the voice acting.
Started playing g this on the 3DS a few years ago and found out there was a superior version on iOS. I’m not partial to playing games on my phone, but holy crap it was actually really great. Beat the game and absolutely loved it. Went on to grab MHS2 as soon as it came out - played, beat, and loved that one too.
A few moths ago I decided to go back and play through the game again, but this time I wanted to stay on the 3DS in order to get the Nintendo exclusive stuff. Got through and beat the game again and had a great time with it.
…not even two weeks later, we get a Nintendo Direct that announces THIS game coming out. Flustered as I was that I *just* beat it on its original system, I’m absolutely pumped for this version and will gladly play it again.
Even with the war crime that is Reverto’s voice… seriously what were they thinking?
Didn't play the 3DS version because it didn't get the japanese content update. Now i can finally enjoy it with an even better presentation.
Played on 3ds. Wife played on iPad. Will play it together on PlayStation now. Also I preordered the Switch physical copy from Japan.
I pre-ordered the Switch collection physical and PS4 collection physical (EU) for my wife and I. She's playing on Switch OLED, I'm playing on PS5. Haven't played either of them so it's a first run for us both. We're excited!

Not sure if it’s just the recording, but the audio in the gameplay portion here seems a bit rough - is that just a result of how it’s uploaded here? Also, frame rate looks around 30fps, did it seem pretty steady during g your play through?
Bummer too, because both 3DS and iOS played it at 60fps, but it’s not a dealbreaker to me.
Audio for the gameplay sounds kind of muffled to me. Does it normally sound like that?

Loved it on 3DS to the point I bought it on GooglePlay too. Unfortunately on the 3DS this was one of the few games that saved on SD instead of cartridge, so when I messes up my backup, my saved disappeared. :(
I like Navirou in monster hunter language more.
I'd love to see a breath of fire game with this art style.
The chance for a BoF 1-4 (not all, but any of the first 4) remake is actually pretty high. Capcom did a survey recently asking if people would be interested in a remake of a BoF game and MANY people filled out the survey and indicated this is what they want. It'll be a while, but a few years from now (maybe 5 or so) expect a BoF remake.

Monster Hunter Stories 1&2 should be Pokémon killers. They are better in every way
This looks more like they ported the mobile version (for ease of user interface since no second screen) and gave it some quality of life improvements. I did enjoy my time with it before, but it's hard going backwards as beautiful as Monster Hunter Stories 2 is.
still no support for controllers on android, crapcom don't give shit
Looks like a GameCube game. You'd think porting it over, they'd really try to remaster it and make it look and feel more modern.
It's a DS game , also graphics aren't everything especially for a game like this , I can't wait to play this game personally but if it ain't your thing I'm not gonna say anything I mean it's not for everyone

Graphics arent everything. I still play the 2d indie games coming because the are fun vs overly produced aaa games with no soul
