The 2wd slash is a blast, brushless is a nice refresh
Always enjoy the Traxxas content Matt. Many thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Well done Matt. If I didn’t know better your video was like watching the real Baja 1000 race a couple weeks ago 👍
Wow, thanks!
Ordered mine yesterday- $20 off-a mane hobiez-got low center of gravity chassis and Iodized aluminum shock capsordered 0ff amzone - can’t wait to get it-4/24 thx
Enjoy!
Good review and I’m glad traxxas finally got rid of the 550 12T motor. I’m sure there will be some happy kids this year
I just built one last week and love it big time! Worth the searching for a BL-2s kit
Enjoy it!
Top button undone , should we be worried Matt ?
Be worried when only the top button is done up
Ha!
Awesome explanation, Matt. Our local RC track has a class for folks racing a stock Slash, that way everyone has basically the same handicaps. It's a fun class with a slower car, and good for both newer racers and more experienced ones alike. We're going to have to see how the newer brushless ones compare to the older brushed ones compare on the track, and may have to look at the class rules.
Cool idea! Thanks for watching!
Hugh difference- you got to keep em separated
After almost 15 years of the Slash, we still run the most popular class, Slash Spec. Great platform.
The slash 4x4 brushless 3s exceeds the fun limit
I have a 3s 4x4 Senton and yes 3s puts the pucker back into backyard racing. Love the Slashes also
Call me old fashioned but I've bought this 2wd , I still prefer the brushed power down low at my track it favors the brushed power band.
New video🎉
Got one few months back, its badass.
Wow wow wow!!! Your vids are always top notch and so cool!!! Great job!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Thanks a ton!
Great video Traxxas is going to love this video. It is a good entry level truck for the money✌🏽
Great video, your driving footage is spectacular 💯 on a totally different level 👍👍
Thank you!
Excellent review as expected. The truck looks great. I really should get a slash one day!
You should!
Scale Bashers Guild is back baby!!!!!!
Yep!
great footage. your camera skills are very good.
Thank you very much!
Bought 3s brushless . Evil machine easy to fix. 50 feet jumps full throttle.
I just got into the hobby summer of 2023 started with a UTB 18 and then I picked up a 2 Wheel Dr. brushed stock Traxxas slash. after about a month, I decided to upgrade it to brushless with the vxl3s. It’s super fast and fun but now I want to take it out and put it in my two speed crawler…. For science😂
Welcome to the hobby!
Good job Matt, you are one of the few out here who can make an underwhelming-performing RC appear fun. But hey, this is for kids being it can't hit 30MPH even with a brushless motor. Welp, back to changing out the leaky shocks and checking the rear diff in my xmaxx, gotta love Jenny'sRC.
Thanks for watching!
I was looking at these slash trucks but ran across a nitro slash , I bought the nitro instead , whole new can of worms , still plan on getting the bl2s later , great video , keep up the good work , love em
Good luck with the nitro! I know it can be pretty tricky for some!
Yes first !!! Good evening Matt 👍🏻
Great review! It would be nice to see you review more rtr rc's. Hands down the most exciting review I have seen.
I review what they send me!
DUDE sick video
Glad you liked it!
Sweet rig and awesome run video Matt!!!
Thank you!
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is
very epic sticker showcase
Nice review, looks like a solid truck! 👍✌️
Thanks for watching!
Great video, Would you review the 4x4 version of this truck it had the HD upgrades?
If it ain’t broke, then break it, then fix it
I’m curious on how much current it draw’s so I can choose the best battery for a 5 minute race
Hi, I'm new to the hobby, I'm undecided between the BL-2 or the VXL, which do you think is better? Can they be modified to make both run faster? Your opinion would be very helpful.
The BL-2 line is the very beginner level. You can always adjust pinion size to gain a little more speed but you’ll have to watch temperatures to make sure you don’t overtax the motor. The VXL line is aimed towards those that want more speed, but with that, comes greater responsibility! They’re definitely fast, but more prone to damage because of that. If you’ve never driven an RC before, it might be wise to start with the BL-2, but if you have some experience, VXL.
Please tell me you filled out the warranty card and sent it in 😅
😂
Cool vid Matt. One thing I have always thought was a little odd is how open the servo and link rod appear to be on the underside. Would it not be easily damaged/ bent etc ?
I've never liked the servo setup on the Slash but, surprisingly, holds up pretty well. Still, the setup of the lcg chassis is much better.
Hundreds of thousands of Slash’s can’t be wrong! Ha! Seriously though, it’s probably a little exposed, but seems to be holding up just fine!
@@scalebuildersguild I hear you on the numbers Matt . Just thought a little vulnerable

Cool

Yip!! 🍻🍻
I was waiting for a little more speed... B L on 2s? Well, I guess for beginners, that's awesome...

It’s my understanding if you get a Slash without the Low CG. chassis you’ll be buying one for it so ya might as well get one with it from the start.
And then whine about the price going up?! People are never happy. You add a BL system and they complain about it being 2S or not being fast enough The 2wd Slash has always been an entry level truck and adding a BL system makes it 100% more reliable and faster than any brushed system, making an upgrade unnecessary and saving people money in the long run.. The BL system will be enough for many people and you still can buy the VXL if you're looking for something more powerful. I am NOT a big fan of Traxxas but this one makes a lot of sense 👍
If you don’t know any different, probably not something you’d “need” right away. Play with it as-is and enjoy!
It's really not needed right away. Some minor shock tuning makes a big difference even with the stock HCG chassis. Keep your throttle and steering inputs nice and smooth/slow and the HCG chassis does quite well.
A great Short Course Truck made better
I was almost 69!
Lol they had to find a way to move thier over priced demo electronics
Can you explain what that means?
A lot of lexan this year. 😂😂 a lot of good rigs though
I forgot to tell you, it was a typo. It was supposed to read: "Year of Lexan"... 🤣
@@scalebuildersguild those dang typos
