When you take exams like CAT, XAT etc. and decide to join a business school, there is a starry-eyed expectation of what life at a B-school will be like. However, there are a lot of truths about life at a B-school that one realises only after stepping into their campus. Therefore, many prospective MBA students go unprepared for the hyper-competitive environment and academic rigour that is not an exception but rather the norm at a B-school. But not the future B-school students who attended the 3rd Season of the InsideIIM Pre-MBA Social, and heard the very candid Saurabh Sengupta of IIM Indore!
In this video, Saurabh speaks about his life at IIM Indore and the key learnings he took away from those 2-years. He also candidly shares tips drawn from his own experiences, such as identifying and maintaining your distance from what he calls the "faltu janta", as well as the importance of academics and visiting faculty at a B-school. He also talks about and compares his life at IIT Delhi and IIM Indore, and speaks at length about the " charitra parivartan" that he observed in people at IIM Indore.
If you want to understand what really happens at a B-school and want an aboveboard account of life at an IIM, this is one video you don't want to miss!

Haha! To all the MBA aspirants who came here to watch all this in aww, I would say just calm down and breathe heavily. Don't lose your true spirit in this "hyperactive race" of MBA because you might someday end up having hypertension:).. Remember every single individual has some purpose, follow that, or contribute to a better society. Never ignore your family and loved ones in the race of so called "success" 😁.. All this MBA is so enticing to watch that I'm sure 99% of you would start imagining yourselves as this guy, dreaming one day you would be the one called for an interview and that's it. Bingo, success. Nooo mann no, stop pause and think. Take it easy, do less but do it with perfection. You don't have to be in a hyperactive environment to be successful.. satisfaction is the ultimate success. Love what you're doing, and never ever see yourself in any race. Unfortunate that in India, everything is like a race.. first you race for an engineering college, then you race for an MBA college and then to get into the best company. Better listen to failure stories as APJ Abdul Kalam ji used to say, failure can teach many more lessons than success. This guy was already from an IIT, then IIM.. you should know for a fact how much of a brand value plays a role in India but I'm sure there must be many more successful people who started from scratch, didn't have money to study, or some other problems, yet they achieved the best for them.. every one has their own best, don't compare your best with other's best. Thank you
Thank you..
@@perfectlyimperfectAS Keep working, keep moving :)..
@@arcanec6990 in India companies only hire from IIT
@@shrishri5587 I know!! And I don't give a damn about that. Because I'm from one of those so called colleges, and I don't see any real talent out there. They just solved same set of questions five times and cracked the college. I know, no company cares if one is talented or not. They just go to one random IIT and pick candidates, but this should not stop you from achieving even greater heights. Remember life is not a competitive exam, if you're good and passionate then no-one can stop you ever. And believe me, rising without a "tag/brand" is much more satisfying and will give you success in this longer race of life. I hope atleast in higher education this changes, otherwise India will soon become a crap without any real value/innovation. Because these competitive rats will never think out of the box. In abroad, MS and MBA is given based on your resume and the aptitude exam is only to get par of a set cut off. But here it's just based on an exam, GATE or MBA, total waste.
I always felt the same apptitude is not the thing to judge someone completely , really if u want to know a guy who want to do mba put some manegrial questions in the exam , doing mba for the purpose of money is like investing in share market that's it , to do good cause using ur knowledge of mba is the real deal making money and keeping it at home is never a success ,using it for creating jobs and other development activities is real success
How adorably and simplistically he put out all the reality in the front..! loved watching!
"You have to see it and ignore it(the insecurity)"...
The person is very frank (in a good sense)and session is definitely an eye opener for the undergrad students!

Is it necessary to have job experience before joining for MBA?
If any person would lead such a calculated life, they wouldn’t be actually feeling the essence of being in a B-School or for that matter anywhere. I feel it’s more important to enjoy the space wherever that may be.
