That track up onto Uldale Head is actually an medieval packhorse trail, the large stones in the bottom were put there to stabilise the ground from the constant hammering from horses’ hooves. Top video, my backyard - headed up there tonight for a wild camp, may well steal your pitch!

Absolutely spectacular landscape for your Howgill Fells hike Chris. Looked rough going in parts though, but full of admiration for your challenges. Not much success for loosing your jacket to the wind, but beautifully explained. Had to laugh! Good job you are so experienced in your hiking in wild terrains and map reading. Loved your choice of music too. Well done. Enjoyed sharing your experiences.🙂

Cheers Matt and thanks for the constructive feedback. There does seem to be a thing for longer films these days with the big YT stations but if I'm honest, for me, as a viewer, half an hour is about my limit. I still watch the longer ones but find myself fast-forwarding through bits sometimes. Saying that, I don't know if you watch Dave Goodman's longer trips on YT? Because he's doing the bigger walks he's really good at the longer films and I watch every minute of his.
You have definitely given me something to think about. If I were to make them longer, would you like me to include more footage of the landscape or me waffling more? Maybe I should put this out on a future vid' to see what others think?
Anyway, bye for now and best wishes, Chris 🙂
