I've used this before and I love it! I actually used an old milk container so that it keeps that square edge vs the round of a cup. Works really great!
Oh my gosh THANK YOU! And they FLOAT!! More of that pesky specific gravity! Clear ice is awesome! Now to experiment with my home solution for a convincing "frosted glass".
Hairspray or a 50/50 solution of glycerin and distilled water. Apply to a clean, dry glass. Then handle the prop glass with gloves. Add and remove the liquid with a turkey baster. Terry Thomas... the photographer Atlanta
Thanks for this detailed review and tutorial! I’ve seen this tip around IG reels, but you explained everything better. They look very convincing in your photos!
Wonder if you used plastic wrap to line the ice cube trays when freezing, if you could accomplish 2 things: (1) add multiple shape factors to each individual cube and (2) make the cubes easier to remove from the ice trays once frozen. Hmmm, just a thought. 🤔
I know this sounds crazy, but I wonder if the fake ice can also be made to look slightly cloudy like water that isn’t filtered? Wanting to show home ice (cloudy) versus clear ice (filtered).
Hi Joanie, Do you know if it is toxic? Could one remove the ice and still drink the liquid? (😂 Not that one would necessarily want to... Just checking)
Thank you, Joanie! Great video! Now with the capso ice what do you use to replicate the droplets on the glass to show how cold a drink is? I know many ppl use glycerin and water 50/50 but I find it looks weird. I'm curious to know if there are any other options.
I just use water in a small spray bottle. I find the size of the mist from the spray bottle is key because they all put out different sizes of drops. I like a fine mist.
Yeah, it's not as cheap as you stated. However, it would still be a worthwhile purchase. After all, the more believable a image is the more money we can make. Always remember your ROI
Great tip - thanks for sharing Joanie 🙏 QUESTION: In the comments I can see others like me that don't have this product available in their countries. Maybe you could explain what the product is (more than the products name) since we might then find something similar. Someone asks if it is epoxy? Thanks a lot in advance;-)
Hi! I'm not entirely sure what it is from a chemical / product standpoint and I'd hate to steer you in the wrong direction. Here's the page from the manufacturer's website in case that's helpful: www.smooth-on.com/products/encapso-k/
I used actual ice, it's free. Just need a refrigerator. They have refrigerator in restaurants and we have at home also. And u can get real ice also from market. Why to use artificial then.

That's awesome Sean!!
This is perfectly timed, I was just talking to someone about the need for good quality fake ice, and how expensive it can get.
This is so cool! i had no idea fake ice was so expensive!

Ooooh, love this idea! I have more Encapso K and will def experiment!
is there a way to put white coloring into it and not fully transparent like a real ice cube?
Now I know what I'll be doing this weekend, thanks Joanie!
I’m such a bad influence!!
@@TheBiteShot you absolutely are...but in the best way. LOL
Yesss! I have seen this on tiktok before but never used it
I've been impressed!
Thank you very much for sharing this!
Amazing tips and research. Thanks so much !
this tip is so helpful!!!
Are the ice molds still safe to use afterwards?
Amazing tip!

May I ask that do this fake ice need to be preserved in some ways?
Oh this is awesome!
Ive heard of this before. However, I have never seen a good review. Thanks for the info!
No problem!
How well do they transport? if you packed them in some sort of padding, would the padding texture leave an impression?
Wow!
Creative 👌
How long do these cubes last if you have them for display in a glass container? Thank you.
Not available on Amazon in Canada :(
Any other links for this stuff? It’s now saying it’s $43 plus $17.82 for shipping
Ruh roh, seems inflation taking effect in real time 😩 Amazon was my go to but looks like pricing is comparable on their website.
@@TheBiteShot what about Hobby Lobby or art supply stores such as Michaels?
the link doesn't work for me
Whoops! Just fixed it! geni.us/DXUF
Hi Joanie,
Do you know if it is toxic? Could one remove the ice and still drink the liquid? (😂 Not that one would necessarily want to... Just checking)
It's not stated as non-toxic but it's also not specified as food safe so I would not consume the drink after.

Yep, unfortunately seems the price increased since I filmed the video a couple weeks ago.
Sadly this doesn't ship to my country, is there an alternative name to the product? I guess its not the same as resin/epoxy right?

Hi Joannie, how do you fake the condensation?
A little spray bottle works great for that 🎉

😎
Thank you for your videos
I learned a lot from it
But can you support translate to Arabic language to get higher benefit, please?
And thank you ❤️❤️
