  • On this episode, Valur Grettisson and his new co-host, Pollý, walk through downtown Reykjavík. With the gathering ban and most people in isolation, it’s safe to say that few were walking around. Currently, the gathering ban is set to continue on until the beginning of May, at least. As well, more people have entered intensive care because of the virus. That said, Icelanders are optimistic and are doing their part to fight the spread of the virus.

Thanks. It brought back memories of our visit. I think we are all struggling to get our heads around the current situation. It is good to get perspectives from different countries, particular when we are isolating and not seeing anyone. Stay safe

I was visiting iceland like 20 times the last years. It was always packed and crowded. Spooky to see it like this. All the best wishes from Germany! I hope I can visit it again soon.

Last year was pretty empty around the same time. March-May were very slow. Sometimes I hardly saw anyone in donwntown in the evening. I took a walk maybe 10 days ago and I actually saw more people but just locals.

I was in downtown yesterday. It honestly didn't look more dead than at the same time last year which was unusually a dead time.

A very interesting walk. Might I suggest that the camera would be better placed if it viewed 180° about its present angle, i.e. looking forward instead of looking back? You would then deliver your commentary out of sight, but, although you are a most pleasant fellow, we do not need to see you all the time. Such a walk/video through Tromsø was magical.
