- Dozens, maybe hundreds, of fireworks were set off into the air in Phoenix late Saturday and into Sunday morning to celebrate the new year, and neighbors aren't too happy about being kept up. Jordan Montanez sent in drone footage taken in Maryvale of all the fireworks that went off at midnight.

I can attest, all of the valley sounded like a war zone at midnight. Every where you look was a firework.
Like this is the 1st year that fireworks ever scared cats and dogs come on people quit it
Not the first year, nor the first time. Mine are terrified EVERY time, several times a year. Last time was Christmas.
This happens every year in my neighborhood especially on the 4th of July.
Does the video author have a license to fly their drone at night? If not, that's also illegal.
Bruh this is a news channel of course they have a license lmfao
It was Fox news drone
Illegal Drone footage shows NYE fireworks in Phoenix I fixed the title. The drone was flying illegally.
Their you go that a fact why not call the drone flying illegal just like oh I'm gonna fly my drone and then will it explode yeah let say this video gone woke because your bullying the Americans citizen own fireworks
All news crews should have a license to fly at night. There’s literally no way to tell if it is illegal
So tragic 😅
Firearms- Legal :D
Fireworks- Illegal :D
Deaths from firearms- Tens of thousands :D
Deaths from fireworks- 1 random person who blew his face off sticking a firecracker up his nose :D
Its about wild fires numb nuts
@@PuckDaily Bro tf we concerned about wildfires in a desert state lmao
@@N-L3 do you live here? You do know we have trees and bushes too right? Aware of how dry they get? Fireworks are illegal because of how dry it is and SPECIFICALLY because we live in a desert 💀 we dont need a dry season for fires either so their illigal always. And we still have a shit ton of wildfire as is
@@PuckDaily Yes you moron, fireworks simply shoot into the sky, explode into the sky, and fade into the darkness. The fires are caused by stupid people who launch them out of their hands, I witnessed someone shoot a mortar shell out of their hand and he broke his thumb. It's the stupid people who cause the fires. And I am disagreeing with making them "Illegal" because it is fucking annoying how cities simply ban things for everyone because one stupid person does it. Most of the people such as myself know how to use them safely and we don't have accidents. But every time we hear sirens going off we have to stop until they are gone for at least 15 minutes. I do it simply because it is a tradition, and I don't care if it's illegal or not. You can't "BAN" a tradition because of a few people who were stupid with them.
Take that NYC.. .
City of Mesa missing out on millions in revenue by not enforcing the laws on the books.
Actually fireworks are basically LEGAL they are being sold and brought across the country. Seriously whats the point on having new years and 4th of July without fireworks. People just complain about everything
who cares about fireworks should be concerned about the idiots shooting guns in air i had 2 stray bullets come through my roof last year
"and neighbors aren't too happy about being kept up" god forbid people have fun on a Saturday night to bring in the new year, oh no the agony!!!
Okay but to be honest.. Who *isn't* shooting "illegal" fireworks?
A city of outlaws
I know and I'm so proud of them
Yup and if your not from here I suggest you keep it that way !

I was really surprised seeing what I guess were some commercial-grade, not just from pockets of the neighborhood, but both near and far. From my third floor vantage point, there were some enthusiastic revelers.
These folks didn't appear to be rationing their fireworks. The Sun had not set and some great (expensive) stuff was shooting upward. I imagine people spent a great deal and were not economizing for a finale at midnight. In fact, I retreated back inside when the actual firearms were being shot. Getting killed by gun toting gang bangers would be a lousy way to start the new year.
All evening, I kept thinking of that young girl, Shannon who was the motivation for Shannon's Law.
I was impressed by the tenacity and commitment of those nearby, but I must confess, it wasn't so very happy go lucky.
On three occasions, fireworks which were intended to rise high in the sky, didn't go very far after being launched. I hope no one was injured.
There were so many idk what the police would even do along with people just emptying mags into the sky, my friend found stray bullets in his pool in chandler. Like wtf, it’s never this many. I’m from Texas and not anti firearm but I am anti shooting your firearm into the sky in a suburb of a quarter million people. But what are the police supposed to do when they’re coming from 7 different backyards and then you have a bunch of other stuff going on.
That is weak
I live in Tempe on a canal and my neighbors on the other side were shooting fireworks right into my backyard. Scared the crap out of me but I figured it would be useless to call the cops. Just happy they didn't hit my gas line.
😂that’s all i got
Title should be renamed "Karen's illegal drone footage captures people celebrating the new year"
Old news. This has been going on for years
"Dozens, Maybe hundreds"
Have "reporters" completely lost the ability to count or provide a tiny bit of accuracy?
It's a stupid law anyway you're far more likely to start something on fire Using firework displays that sit on the ground then you are using aerial fireworks which go off way up high in the air And almost completely burn out instantly and in any event long before anything left hits the ground Which at most might be the size of a few grains of sand. I've lived here for 56 years never seen a house burned down by an aerial firework but several burned down by ground base fireworks. And you can say what you want but giving that my oldest brother is a licensed pyrotechnic display technician I kind of have some knowledge on the subject
yet...there were no fires on this night.
There were fires! Also the jerk across the street from us was setting off giant fireworks too close to the ground and too close to houses.
@@chucksucks8640there were fires reported
One thing is FOR SURE!!!. I PREFER THIS VERSES FIRING GUNS. LIKE IN THE PAST. People... People... Go outside and enjoy it. Go on your roof tops like me and my kid's did. All we got from them was oooos and ahhhs
It was terrible up north in my neighborhood - there were three houses setting off gianormous fireworks. The kind like you see at a big show. Illegal as all heck. Air was thick with smoke all night. I had smoke 3-4' thick in the bedrooms from seeping in. We had clock alarms set to go off every 20 because I was worried about sleeping in so much smoke! Couldn't open a door or what window for fresh air - there wasn't any!! Pets were terrified. I was worried about fires too.
Next day air was just terrible... They've got to change the law. Police cant be not seeing this and not fining people.
This is nothing ! check out San Antonio Tx 2023 We're banned every year but they just get brighter 🤣😂😂😂😂😂
What about the elderly (your grand parents and parents) with health conditions and weak hearts. It's not funny when one of them has a heart attack is it? I am a Army Vet who already suffers from PTSD and when loud bangs/booms occur like that, I feel like I'm going to have an heart attack. It is simply illegal. Be more considerate for others around you and stop taking things as a joke! There was a time when you could go to designated areas to observe, but now lawless is the norm.
You could wear noise canceling headphones on 4th of July and New Year's
Ear plugs....
Who cares it’s new years even those cheap fireworks from Walmart can start a fire and injure you.
They also throw up shit tons of smoke
@@brandonanderson5075 yea and? Lmfao a fountain firework (the non aerial Walmart firework) is literally just as dangerous as an aerial repeater. It heats up way more, it also shoots sparks in the air which can easily set stuff on fire
