    Good points about Id Match. Me and my wife did it in BKK last year. The one who did mine was not that experienced compared to the guy who did it for my wife. It's a good system with some drawbacks. If some has symmetrial body, ID match would be perfect for them.
    One thing I liked about ID Match is the ability for them to setup the system to match any bike/size you want to buy and see if it would work.

      For Oompa, it's the performance bike shims that does it for him.

    I will ops for experience bike fitter. As my left leg having knee injury , so the cleat need to slight adjustment different from the right. My sear push backward further which engage more muscle on upper thigh , balance on muscle usage during pedalling.

    Bike fit is definitely worth it before purchase to determine the correct bike size and other setting related matters, but I think as for now, any reputable bike shop can give you correct size as well. Pre-bike fit is more like a peace of mind. Bike fit after purchase? If size is way wrong, it's pointless too, but if the size is okay, and you need to change the stem/handlerbar/crank and etc for the fit will be costing too much anyway.
    I did bikefit after purchase the bike with perfxxmancebikefit before, turn out my bike is okay, my motion reading is okay, my saddle was push back about 1cm and nothing else, I push back the saddle back to where it was after a short while. I was okay with the bike, just do it for the sake of peace of mind.
    I did the ID match before I purchase the propel sl, this pre purchase bike fit then makes lots of sense, it make sure how much I need to cut the seatpost - the Giant thing lol. The best combination of the stem and handlebar width, length degree, which saddle to fit me the best and all the other bikefit related setting. I 100% encourage to do a pre-purchase bikefit.

    Could you share a link to Gary’s bike fit? Cannot find an obvious contact here. Thanks

    Nice! One question do I need to make an appointment with OBA for the ID match?

    How does a shorter crank result in a higher seat post? Wouldn't you lower the seat post since you're technically lower?

    • @OompaLoompaCycling
      @OompaLoompaCycling  Před 4 měsíci

      Because the distance from the saddle to the lowest point of your pedal stroke would be shorter (with a shorter crank arm). So to get the same distance if you had a longer crank arm, you would need to raise the seatpost.

    • @heykrisg
      @heykrisg Před 4 měsíci

      This makes sense. I was thinking of the pedal/foot at the top of the stroke.@@OompaLoompaCycling

    Why did you immediately change your saddle position after the bikefit with Gary? From what I heard from other bike fitters, you're supposed to feel uncomfortable after the first fit and let your body adjust with the new fit, especially for someone whos been riding a certain position for a certain amount of time.

    • @OompaLoompaCycling
      @OompaLoompaCycling  Před 4 měsíci

      Maybe I’m too used to my older position. The fit that Gary did for the saddle position felt too stretched out for me.. maybe it wasn’t used to that new position

      @@OompaLoompaCycling Do you use leg length shim similar to Form? I have 9mm difference in leg. The shims are just 5mm so not perfect but made it a little better.

    • @OompaLoompaCycling

    @tonytoh6065 Před 4 měsíci +1

    If it’s superiority of which fitting methods, and the leg length discrepancy was detected by one, I think the answer is immediately apparent, no??
    Sorry, just from the info in your vid

    Bike fitting shouldn’t be based on looking good on the bike or looking as good as pros. It should be based on your physical dimensions, flexibility, and range of motion. Looking good on the bike is an effect of a good bike fit
