Thanks for making this video! Just did the install in my new i10 Maze and the HJC instructions were sorely lacking. Had a devil of a time with the control unit until I noticed the little hook on the back of the clip was keeping it from going into place. Rocking the unit into place like you said in the video finally got it in.

I was able to install and get running in a matter of minutes....
I know you mentioned this but to the others that may have missed it.
Charge the unit first. Just hook it up to the USB charger wire and let it charge (little blue light will show it's charged)
For me I paired before I put it on the helmet, worked fine. My Samsung Galaxy S9 was a little wonky as it first shows it's only connected for calls, pressing the middle button adds media controls to it as well, cant wait to hear it on the road.

Took way too long to figure out the audio pairing portion and not just calls. This was the only useful comment after hours of searching for a fix.

thanks. I set up my old phone to the helmet and I dont remember doing this at all. Holding the button down to get to a setup menu felt completely new to me, if not for looking this up on youtube, I would have never figured it out.

Oh. I'm still watching but for anyone reading this. Buy a set of concert earplugs. They work great for listening to music while saving your ears from wind and the motorcycle.

@Cj Which earplugs did you get? I have the "EarPiece" but I have yet to try them with helmet earphones that come with these communicators. I've had a communicator before but found it very hard to hear when at speed when you add in wind and engine noise(Arai helmet). Not good for your hearing in the long run at all. So I started using earplugs all the time when riding. I've been looking for a solution to this issue where I remove most of the ambient noise and just hear the headphones. Then I'll invest in a new communicator. (batteries dead in my last one). If these concert earplugs work, I'm in!

Hey Brian, can you go into further detail on the 20 how to answer calls, make calls and play, pause and fast forward tracks for music and demonstrate that. Otherwise Awesome review and the fact that I'll be sharing this will all my dealers on how to install and properly pair this unit to your phone will be extremely helpful.

Advice “
Take a small or micro LED light and put it inside the helmet. You’ve been doing helmet reviews installation and no one can really see what’s inside the helmet it’s just dark. So when you’re going to do an install or showing the padding have the LED light in place so we can clearly see inside the helmet. This should now be a staple for all your videos going forward showing me inside of a dark helmet isn’t cutting it anymore thank you

I have a similar HJC helmet. My medium fits a bit snug, round the cheeks area, head feels fine. but its brand new. am i able to switch out the medium stock size check pads for a size large for a more roomier fit? thanks van as always
Yes you should be able to install a different size set of cheek pads in the helmet to get the fit all dialed in. Go to our site and navigate to the category for the particular model you have. Check the size chart for the helmet you have in one of the product listings, it should show what cheek pads options are available. My shop didn't have the i10 in my size so I got a CS-R3. The medium felt the same as the modular xxl but this is my first helmet so I got what I could afford. I want to add a go pro and Bluetooth. I just ordered a new mirror finish visor that fits lots of models

Thank you! Is there a way that I can still use the tinted visor inside the helmet? The Bluetooth controls go in the same spot and block where I drop the tint down.

Can you do Siri voice commands through the intercom as long as it’s connected to your iPhone? Like will saying “hey Siri” trigger my phone like normal or is that not how this operates. Looking to get this to go with my i10.

This looks like it will fit on other model helmets. I am wondering if this fit good on an HJC CL-17 helmet. What do you think?
No this is only intended to be installed on helmets designed to accept it. The other models will not have the mount at the base of the neck to accept the main unit. - Van
hey i have a question. is the controller on the left of the helm mandetory or can i use the device without, because i can controll all of those things on my motorcycle and dont want sonethong visible from the outside. Thx
It is part of the unit and you will have to install it for it to work. - Van
Good review sir I just wanna make a concise decision which one has better sounds 10b or 20b because if they are the same I'd rather go with the cheaper one.

I've been considering this same combination for both my wife and I when 2-up riding. It says it can connect to another 10B unit. My question is...does it pair easily with the other unit as well as still play music/GPS directions? Thanks
It pairs easily and will play music while passing GPS directions. The Sena 20 allows for music sharing, not sure on the 10 but we have the distributor looking into this now. If you and your Wife plan to listen to your own music that is possible via bluetooth connection to your own phones. - Van

Is this the only unit i can install on this helmet?? Cause i bought a cardo packtalk slim and it doesn’t fit cause the battery unit
This is a direct fit unit for select HJC models only. That said you should still be able to install other universal models in those same helmets if you prefer to do that. - Van
I use a samsung galaxy s10 plus. When paired with the sena 10b. I can only receive calls but does not support media or music playing. So there could be some devices where this can't be fully compatible with. Please if you know a solution, do recommend. Otherwise this is just an FYI.

I have the SENA 10B can someone explain how to make a phone call? According to the directions it says to press center button 3xs mine beeps and then nothing. My phone is paired via bluetooth already I can receive calls, play music etc but can't make a call
I did not test placing a call from the unit. The test call I made was initiated using my phone. Shoot a message to Snea, their support should be able to help you sort this out. - Van

Having a hard time doing the software update. I downloaded the Sena Bluetooth Device Manager software and it will not detect my device. I just want to update this thing :(

I have an HJC 10B (a Sena made product) that failed after a yeah of use. Sena & HJC both refuses to honor their warranty on the produce. Find another manufacturer to buy from because Sena obviously refuses to stand by their products.

IT IS NOT MY USB like some posts say if you use 3.0 vs 2.0 it doesn't work. I tried both ports. everything else works fine in them. you plug this thing in to update and the app simply does not register it and freezes. I purposely left it for hours as I left one day and when I came back it was still frozen so it was not a time issue either. it simply will not update no matter what you do. this company really sucks lmao

These should be like 50 and 100 dollars for the two respective models not 150 and 300. you can literally buy a comparable sounding system for 30 dollars. You're basically paying for the stupid like triangle button part. IT EVEN SAYS ON THEIR WEBSITE. sena 10b is comparable to some older model and I tested it against a literally 30 dollar system and they sound the same. At least cardo sounds decent but they're even more expensive lol. Your video is good nothing on you just saying.
