the cleanest, most concise definition of modulation effects i"ve come across, thanks
You're welcome! 👊
Phaser with high Feedback on distorted Bass Guitar gets your Walls shaking
Boutta test this on my Line 6
I know
I like to use chorus in a lot of sounds especially only on the mid-low or high end to give pads and chord playing synths a dreamy feel
Great use case! 🙌
How do u make it work only on those frequencies
I like to use a narrow flanger effect to give any sound some natural variation
Top tip! 💡
What a great video, straight to the point, and the audio tutorial is brilliant, thank you.
As a guitarist, I had no idea I had flanger and phaser mixed upxD
I just realised that I never learned these definitions from a signal processing perspective a week or two ago. I've had a pragmatic/intuitive understanding of the effects for decades and have some months of more general sound design / synthesis under my belt but these effects slipped through the cracks.
Thanks for the timely Short Cableguys!
Great to hear it helped! 💪
I love you man.
It has to be the flanger sound effect for me. I’ve always loved it since it sounds airy like wind and just a cool sound in general.
My favorite flanger goes to the 80s Boss BF-2. This pedal can mimic chorus as well by having the Manual (delay) and Res (feedback) set to it’s lowest and having the Depth (sweep width) around 25-50% and Rate (sweep frequency) to taste (personally I have around 65% to get tones reminiscent to The Cure & Siouxsie & The Banshees).
That’s a hard one, Chorus and Flanger are both great !
The Phaser isn’t my go-to, but that don’t mean it’s not having a time and place 🎉
thank you!! definitely phaser
Not particularly a fan of any of these effects if I'm honest. But I will occasionally use a little bit of Phaser on snares & toms with some automation bringing it in on certain sections to give a bit more depth.
It's a tricky choice, because there are so many benefits for each one. For the chorus, if you stack choruses on a bass, it can sound really clean and glassy. You can use a wide phaser to make cool neuro basses or phaser basses, and a flanger just produces cool effects.
Always been all about that flanger
I like flangers for the comb filter effect and pitch bending effect at high feedback when delay time is modulated
An omnishpere flanger gave me such a cool sound, I'll show in my song one day 😆😎🎶🔥
phaser on bass synths are always extremely addictive to listen to
Flanger is definitely the coolest of the 3 imo but they’re all great!
Flanger sounds like singing through a pipe. The best for me. Also isn't chorus mostly pitch modulations? To give a chord like essence to the tone. Most pedals with chorus only let you control the effect's depth
Wow, I somehow never thought to use Time shaper to create a chorus effect! So many possibilities with shaperbox, in such a fun format
Yes, TimeShaper can make a one-voice chorus effect, and you can use PanShaper after to make it stereo 👍
Vocês são didáticos e fáceis de entender; o formato shorts da uma boa introduzida, embora não seja o ideal para estudo, agradeço em antecipação por estarem me ajudando na minha jornada de seguir o sonho de viver de música. Abraços do Brasil 🇧🇷
I like chorus because it seems like I'm hearing multitudinous of sounds playing simultaneously.
I looove flanger. I put it on everything
Chorus
❤️
is it possible 2 download them
bro sounded like a robot for a sec
🤖🤖🤖
What is the app you guys always use in these vids? Thanks!
ShaperBox in Ableton Live 👍
I didn’t really get d phaser
Phaser
Love em all but I use flangers the least.
Awesome! 👊
so technically speaking, chorus and flanger are the same thing except a flanger uses shorter delay times (as explained in the short)...
but if so, why are their names distinct/different? like why not just call a flanger a fast chorus or why not call a chorus a slow flanger...
Saturation!
Flanger
I love you man.
Back atcha ♥️
