Very good video! One thing I've found indispensable, as a "northern woodsman", is an extra pair of socks. It seems I always am getting my feet wet, and where it is cold, you just can't have that. Also, as either a mitten, or an additional level of warmth, they are super handy for the hands. I guess I'm cheap, but I often wear athletic socks on small game hunts, wear it is easy to cut out the trigger finger and thumb. I also carry .410 full brass for several things. First, it is usually the small game gun i carry, 2nd, I carry charge, wad, and ball for my .36, 3rd, I like them for fire starter carrier. I "charge" them with Vaseline cotton, then paper, then wood, and light them from the primer end as a handy lighter.

sounds like you have a well thought out kit..and i agree extra socks are a big help..especially down here where they are soaked with sweat by the end of the day

Just a second thought on my previous comment... I attach a short, 9" or so, plastic zip tie to the side of my Bic lighters and push it up underneath the finger gas on lever and then sinch it up tightly so the gas cannot accidently leak out while in my haversack/backpack! I then cut off the excess zip tie. When I want to use the lighter, I just forceably slide the zip tie down away from the gas on lever... Quick, easy and effective safety feature for the handy Bic lighters!

Great setup. I carry a Dutch copy of the British WW2 haversack generally, or a small backpack. I think I overcarry gear for sure, this is a nice no frills setup, like you said that you can forget you're wearing. I always am adjusting my pack and wishing it was lighter

    1. You would have a lot more views if you changed the title to haversack contents, instead of it being all one word. If we search haversack, your video doesn't come up because the title is messed up. I only found it by accident.
    2. You are the first person, beside me, lol, who told how a lighter can lose its fuel, I carry one in a case so it can't compress.

    Blackie,
What part of Alabama are you located. I've got relatives in the greater Ft. Payne area. Enjoy your videos.
