My brother using me to show my mum what he learned in the military:
Sorry,
I did that to my brother as well😂
@@kristopherhasenbuhler5393maybe its him 😂
I like the way she nonchalantly just carries on whilst casually beating up some man who probably didn't even volunteer for this
It’s her husband 😅
While wearing heels!!!
Most of these aren't possible, especially woman Vs Man
People keep saying it's her husband. No it's a professional judoka she worked with lol
😂😂😂
The way she just heartwarmingly smiles while saying she’s gonna dislocate his rib
Despite some of the techniques are proven not to being effective, I applaud the fact that someone was concerned on teaching women how to protect themselves in the 30s.
dude this is just judo
I agree with you good effort, but it doesn’t work in real life. Men who attack women it is always from behind ( because these men like to make sure that this woman is alone before launching the attack) and we all know that surprise gives 80% the upper hand on a battle or an attack or war.
Surprise is the key for any attack.
@@oioisweetheart3500 Yeah but this clearly just isn’t for that. It seems to be more aimed at a man attacking out of anger, not taking “no” for an answer, etc.
This is a paid for stage show. It's basically a martial arts demo/stage fight but the goal is entertainment, not education.
@@oioisweetheart3500 Its shockingly easy for instinct to take over. My brother was attacked when he was younger from behind in a similar manner by a classmate, and said classmate got fully launched. My brother didn't even realize what had really happened until after.
I love the way she talks.
Can you tell me where her accent is from?
@@gabthegreat London.
@@gabthegreat It's called Transatlantic accent. You can hear a lot of it in old-timey movies, I really love that accent and I suggest you to do a little research on it :)
Yes, especially at 53seconds...it's all in the rrrrrrrrrist! 😆🎯
@@gabthegreat it's not a regional dialect it's RP.
I love how each time she re fixes her hair.
I know right? Flinging her assaulter around like a sack of potatoes is no reason for mussed hair apparently. 🙂
THE WAY HE HITS THE FLOOR OH MY GOD
THE THUDS 💀
"POOODIDIHHCKHSHSJSHU"
BAGAHAHAHA
THATS HER HUSBAND☠️
I can see the fear of being slammed into the floor in his eyes. I feel bad for him
Nonsense, this man Charles Clawkell was a member of the first british Judo National Team .

I love how she trills the R when she cheerfully says she will dislocate his wrrrrist.
THE NOISES WHEN HE FALLS💀
FR THO 😭
I feel sorry for the bloke each time she slams him into the floor
That really IS a floor, no Mats in THAT tutorial
Ouch!
I think she enjoyed that. Doesn't look she'd take a lot of crao from a guy
And still elegant too
@@falkor1980they were both like rly good at jujitsu and that’s her husband
His name was Charles Cawkell.
i just love how she volleys him about the room its so funny
Et sa doit faire tellement mal 😂 le pauvre
how he volleys himself you mean.
RIP - my grandmother. she was a lovely person. She exercised EVERY DAY until her death in her 80's.. She married a "rich Turk" according to newspapers and lived in Turkey for close to 60 years. Had 3 children: One boy (my dad) and two girls.
Omg thats ur grandmother? She looks like a wonderful and beautiful woman u shoulda be proud 😊
@@Crow23346 Thank you so much. She was a wonderful person! :)
How loverly to have this film of her when she was a young woman - she seemed to be a very nice lady
Woahhh no way! She is so strong tho:0@@TurgutKalfaoglu
Seriously knows her stuff, that technique of pushing up on the shoulders takes away the force of the push, allowing a better throw. 👏
"...gently on the floor, placing one foot in his tum-my..." That was a real/true LOL moment...
The fact that after she beat this man to a pulp she fixed her makeup right after has me dead 💀
Wow that poor man lol , you can feel his pain.
I did when she demonstrated how she's dislocate him in three locations in one of the last of those moves.
His name was Charles Cawkell.
I know damn well he was holding back tears
If you Google May Whitley Jujitsu, a story comes up on Mental floss. Apparently May married a rich Turk in 1935, converted to Islam, and disappeared into the mists of time.
She married him and moved to Izmir, Turkey where she was apparently a housewife and had 2 daughters and 1 son. She died on 11 July 2001.
I love how her grandson commented just above this comment. @TurgutKalfaoglu
POV:he cheated but he didn’t realize you knew
This 1933 jujutsu tutorial is well worth watching until the end. May Whitely kicks arse! czcams.com/video/WLIE1GKfluk/video.html
cute lady ;-)
Judo.
I felt bad for laughing my ass off, but the thump the poor guy makes when he lands is hilarious. They could have got him a mat, at least!
luis jorge no jujutsu
The pain the guy probably had doing this 💀🙏
Love their casual fighting!
I think they should have taught him how to fall properly before trying to throw him on a hard surface.
I feel like they just found a random guy off the street to volunteer and didn’t tell him what was going on 😂
i love the way she says 'gently' or 'softly' when it looks nothing like 'gently' or 'softly'
To be honest, that first move May did is so smooth.
I think that person needs some medical attention...
Her little sweet smile while shes beating this poor guy up 💀
I love this video, simple and effective and the are techniques I learnt and teach, you cannot beat how things were done years ago. ❤
1:20 That one was BRUTAL
lol I guess mats didn't exist back then.
that girl is just wonderful and really advanced for her times
“I’m gripped in the same manner as before; the chap not having learned his lesson.”
Incredible.
YES QUEEN
Those sound effects though :O
I think only a handful are sound effects 🤨
their not sound effects lol, hes actually in pain 💀
Did anyone else hope that man was ok?
dalekman tardis He looks like he knows how to break his falls. They are probably both experienced martial artists.
@@JanetStarChild his name was Charles Cawkell, they seem to have worked well together.
THE SOUND MAKES IT SOUND LIKE IT REALLY HURTS😭
This needs a dubstep remix. Great video!
Love it. Same principles we use today.
The guy doesn't know how to break-fall :)) Could've broken his neck there.
Honestly, i think his breakfalls are pretty good. He shows some classic rolling ukemi after the tomoenagi, feet flat to the floor then hand to absorb the impact after the ippon seionage and both hands down after the single leg sweep. At no point was he going to fall on his head or neck.
His break falls are excellent. This is a well practiced routine, his feet land perfectly on the floor and absorb most of the impact.
The 30's were awesome.
oh yeah segregation and racism. awesome.
@@xanthopsia I’m sorry that you only see negative in everything.
This might cheer you up:
Ecclesiastes 1:2-9 KJV
[2] Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. [3] What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun? [4] One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever. [5] The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose. [6] The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits. [7] All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again. [8] All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it : the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. [9] The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. …
In certain way yes, and no
And no is for the following reasons:
Great depression
The start of WW2
The hate between URSS and USA (before cold war)
Disasters like the hinderburg one

@@ArtsLi_Studios Im spanish lol
I guess I learned that way lol
Thanks for the correction
that was hysterical...ends with powdering her nose 😂
I love this crazy channel so much.
These videos are so Golden Age
Is he even okay?
Yea, he’s fine. His falls are staged.
So funny that an Englishman has his own thud sound
just the way she is so elegant about beating up a man
Loved this! Reminds me years ago when I got a blue belt in Jujitsu. Wish I’d gone on to get a brown and then black!
Thoroughly enjoyable.
OLD IS GOLD
They did everything in suits before the 50s.
0:50 that grip, ouch!
He hit his waist because it probably hurt a lot lol 😭😭
You can actually see how much they genuinly love each other. I know older generations get a lot of crap for being the way they were, its just so nice to see a young couple actually being in love
What a voice!
Wow no mat that dude is getting the business
As someone who trains this (jujitsu) now on mats. For anyone curious, the screams of pain are genuine.
I could tell-😭
i love her so much actual icon
Nice judo and Jujitsu tecnique this still usefull now
In conclusion, I Love how she powders her face after demonstrating. The slow motion clips had me rolling! Poor lad 😂
wonderful Sensei!
This is badass
shes so smart
. . . . why does this Excite me ? ? ?
JSYK, this is her husband and she took his consent before this.
I love how she just doesn’t care that he is getting beaten up. Instead just pulling her hair back 😂
I personally don't know if I should laugh or feel bad about the dude... like are you okay???
Need to remember this next time I'm in a fight. XD
The answer, is in the infirmary.
Is that agent carter?
01:13 Tomohe-Nage!!!
…throw them and then say, "You have no power here! Begone, before somebody drops a house on you, too!"
-Glinda the good witch😂
The fact she did do her make-up at the end💀
Like she didnt just break his wrist, Elbow and ribs-😭
I wonder if the queen still remember those moves
This poor dude 😂 they didn’t give him no soft landing. Just cold, hard stage
I wonder if this woman still did it when she got older.
*as she got older
Does anyone feel concerned for him because everytime he gets beaten up is seems to not be doing so well
It’s partially staged, so he won’t get badly hurt
God, i love her
Guys keep this in mind
It's better to know something than to know nothing. I'm sure some will say
"That won't work", "That's not realistic", "She'll be killed in a real attack".
That's why it's called a demonstration. And I'm sure you all know that an important part of martial arts training is conditioning. A strong body makes strong offense and defense. I get it combat sports such as MMA, Boxing, wrestling, and BJJ has shown what works and what doesn't work......against a highly skilled opponent who knows who they're fighting. Real violence is chaotic, unpredictable, and traumatic. And the ones committing the violence have little to no training. And at the end of the day I would rather know some form of martial arts that would give me a chance to survive a violent encounter.
Litteraly what my dad said 😂 I showed him the video and he kept saying "yea right"
this vid made my day ...so funny ...bam boom bam boom bam
This genuinely made me laugh so hard
SAMER
DAMN I KNOW THAT HURT-😭😭
THERE ARE NO MATS WTF HES JUST HITTING THE FLOOR 💀
This could make a great animated parody
Effing awesome!!
What a doll.
That really is a trip to the infirmary
RIP Dude, is HE OKAY 😭😭😭
Most of his falls are mostly staged, so he’s fine
Judo moves in heels!
The way she fixes her makeup in the end like a girl boss 😂
Shes so classy about it😭😭
She almost broke his neck at the end 😮
I want her to be the mother of my children, so lovely the young English lady.
She's either dead or very very old right now but hey no judgement here.
@@awesomesauce2000 She died in 2001.
Great! Cheers from Chile!
The thump on the floor was hard 😭
Me when my bestie tells my secret:
I never seen a woman beat her husband so gracefully whilst fixing her hair every now and then.
From *1933?!*
Damn, that woman got some skills
But can she cook?
But can she make me a sandwich?
Won't need to buy a knife, she'll dice with her bare hands.
Antifoul Awl but can he fix a car?
probably not however she'll make YOU cook!
Bro she's so fit my days
@RamseyDewey here is a gem
