How many countries in the EU will want France to be their security guarantor? If France could defend itself, it wouldn't be a part of NATO. France has donated very little military aid to Ukraine, yet Macron had the audacity to say that the West should be open to sending troops to Ukraine. Macron and the EU can send troops to Ukraine. It doesn't have to be under NATO.

I was surprised to see people arguing for negotiations with Putin. Negotiations, if they could achieve what these people envision, would give Putin the Ukrainian territory his military has taken. Negotiations would reward Putin.
The idea that French forces would fight in Ukraine seems to be going in the right direction. That is only a suggestion at the moment, but Europe needs to think about what Putin's invasion of Ukraine means for Europe.

About what? Strategic Autonomy? Because what the lady said about Macron being a hypocrite is correct. France is #17 in Europe for aid given to Ukraine. For a man that claims to be autonomous and tough on Putin, he surely isn't showing it but with words

Love how arrogant Macron is when highlighting how Europe has delegated its security to the US, but of course, not France....Arrogance without the balls to call out any particular EU partner....
BTW, as an English language teacher and Cambridge/IELTS examiner, I am always humbled and appreciative when non-native speakers speak English, especially the French since their language is so beautiful. I know it's not easy to express yourself as clearly and articulate in a language that is not your own. Respect.

It's nothing but a money racket for US defence contractors as is, taking money out of Europe when it could easily stay here, if Europeans could grow up and stop living in a bubble protected by Uncle Sam. France has been a military power in Europe since the Romans were sent packing, of course they're going to be highly involved.
