I dip my qtips in isopropyl alchohol, it works miracles for mealies. I barely touch the mealie with the qtip and it disintegrates, makes it really easy to get to new leaves and penduncles without breaking them off.
Nice hoyas and such cute blooms!!!! I finally had some signs that my crimson queen was going to bloom and a damn mouse ate all the signs, I'm so upset but I'm now working on growing them back. I was shocked and pissed.😢 Cant wait for blooms. Yours are so nice!!!!!
I love your hoya cabinet! They're so pretty. I may get a few of those bug catches too deal with the moisturizing and fruit flies. So far, my drosera spatulata and the bowl of distilled water that it sits in are doing a good job of killing off the fungus gnats in my edible plants. I'm using a combination of watering with mosquito bits water and the bonide systemic houseplant control in the pots that I can't let dry out completely. I don't notice as many fungus gnats as before even though the tomato plants and the tomato/ basil/oxalis grow bag definitely don't dry out between waterings and get normal tap water. My plant collection is small. I "only" have 65 plants in my bedroom. I just put what would have been plant #65 outside in the shade by the front door. I have one purple passion plant still in my bedroom so I'm experimenting with the second pot full of purple poison plants to see if they can grow outside under the protection of the patio. Large felt grow bags can be a pain to water inside if you don't have a saucer that's 2" wider than the grow bag as the water flows out of the sides of the pot as well as the bottom. I got some of my seeds wet so hopefully they'll still be good. Do you know of a good low light handgun plant that would do well hanging from the ceiling with a grow light pointed up at it? That's the only place I have for a hanging plant. I love scindapsus haven't bought any pothos yet.🌸
Baby leaves are so exciting. Rhis spring I have some peduncles on my Hoyas that never bloomed. Spring is my favorite season for outside plants , always surprised when things start popping up after the long winter.
