I want a deadlift bar to be so bendy that I could lift 500+ kg to lockout without all the plates leaving the ground.
Sounds like sumo is right for you
Pull sumo 🤪
Make a bar long enough and you'll be able to sumo so wide that your hips and knees will be locked out without the weights leaving the floor
You want a kabuki bar. That thing is ridiculous
I don’t understand. Are the plates *supposed* to come off the ground?
Yes would love to see comparisons of deadlift bars. Especially Kabuki
Kabuki deadlift bar is KING.....no comparison
@@hitleractually8180can’t wait for mines to come in! Wasn’t a smart purchase financially but oh well🤣
@@hitleractually8180 Achievement Apex Pinnacle series deadlift has entered the chat
Glad you added this bar to review! Would love a review of the Helios Squat bar as well at some point.
Bar looks legit. Excited for more reviews of their new barbells.
The lighting in the video is top notch.
Could you please do a deadlift bar comp video. Thanks for all the great stuff it has helped me build my own garage gym. Have you thought of a ways to heat your garage video, if you have already done it my bad.
I have a Strongarm DL bar on my side. Got this bar since 2y. Fantastic bar really. It's sadly often forgotten with all the new bars and the good classic oldies out there.
It's bare steel, but the alloy is kinda special... It doesn't rust, somebody commented about it it's close to stainless without being so. I maintain it well, but I've notice it doesn't need a lot of attention compared to other bars I've got. I never saw any rust patch and doesn't develop any patina. Look exactly like when I've pulled out of the box.
Knurl is really good and sharp and the price is crazy nice. In hand, it feel it's very close to a TPB and Mike from Strongarm knows his stuff and he's nice to deal with... And he's a fellow Canadian too!
Strongly recommended.
I'm sure REP is a nice one though...! Good review!
Like when companies go the extra mile with small things like nice end caps
Definitely would be great if REP offered a bare steel option on there barbells, great review Coop 👍
Would love to see more deadlift bar reviews - just picked up a Texas Deadlift Bar (after using one in a competition), absolutely loving it. I decided against REP Hades because of the duracoat - it'd be nice to see how well that holds up compared to the competition.
owned a TDB with chrome sleeves for a few years. I eventually replaced with with Kabuki (which is superior in every way) but Texas chrome sleeves are really good. The chrome is slick, but it does't chip or flake.
@@hitleractually8180I just got my kabuki bar too! I’m excited to try it out, how you liking yours?
Seems very similar to my Valor Fitness Deadlift bar, but my Valor was quite a bit cheaper. Never seen the Valor reviewed, I absolutely love it
I'd be interested in seeing reviews for Cerberus Strength's lineup of bars.
Great review - What are your thoughts with the versatility of a deadlift bar? I have a Rogue Ohio power bar but have been considering a deadlift bar. Do you think this would work ok to get some whip with power cleans?
I don’t disagree much but something to consider is if you’re going to buy a deadlift bar to practice for a comp, as far as I know most people are using Texas deadlift bars, or kabuki. I’d go with whatever you’re using in comp. The difference is pronounced between them. There is a ton of difference between the whip of a rogue and a Texas deadlift bar, and even more from rogue to kabuki. So you should buy whatever your fed uses. As far as I know, no feds are using rep so this purchasing this doesn’t make much sense to me. Not saying don’t do it. But if you’re not powerlifting for comp wasting money on a deadlift bar is pretty nonsensical. If you are wasting money on on, I’d go with Texas over rogue. It’s like 30 bucks difference and way more fun to pull heavy on. If you’re powerlifting then buying a bar your fed doesn’t use makes almost no sense. Just something to consider.
Unless you can get OPB out of the boneyard for $195
Agree with you to an extent. No feds use this because it just came out. And Rep hasn't paid anyone to use the bar for a comp yet. Could change in the future.
@@rjm656 oh I agree 100 percent. And IF that happens I’d say go for it. But I have a hard time believing most US Feds are gonna go away from the three available American Made bars, for this one. But if that happens. Yeah like I said, get the one that your fed uses.
@@adambomb611for me it was still well worth it to buy a Texas bar because uspa uses it and that’s where I compete.
I also compete in USPA and from what I understand, they do not allow bars with cerakote in competition. If Rep wanted this bar to be used in competition, having a bare steel option would have made more sense, but it all comes down to what your fed allows and uses.
I'd love to see reviews on the new Kabuki Oregon Power Bar. The raw finish is priced the same as the OPB shipped. They also were making a "Columbia Bar" but I'm not sure if they are going to continue to make it. I'm excited to see they dropped the price on the 250k power bars too, but not sure if it's worth it with the Oregon PB at $299!
Patiently waiting for the Arcadia review. Wondering if the wider uprights compared to Athena vs the limited height of the Arcadia makes it worth it or not. Rep was tricky putting a 5’5” model for the Arcadia
You show a clip of the Kabuki Deadlift bar with a $450 price tag in bare steel, but its $560 for the Kabuki deadlift bar in bare steel
Great catch
It wasn't too long ago that they increased the price.
Yes let’s see a deadlift bar review!!
Review the squat bar please!
I’d love to see a comparison to other deadlift bars. It would be interesting to see if you could find a good way to test the flex of each one with a more serious load on it. Say 600-700lbs.
I would like to see a review of the Strongarm Sumo deadlift bar. If possible, their traditional deadlift bar as well. Thank you
I bought a Texas Deadlift Bar. It was not quite as long as the Rep bar, which was important to me since my deadlift area has vertical boundaries on each side. Rogue’s was out due to black zinc. Kabuki’s was out on price. Rep was just too long. Texas Deadlift Bar checked all the boxes and I bought it on sale.
Texas deadlift bar bare steel is 305 right now… 345 full price
Coop can we get a best adjustable dumbbell video? There are so many options!😊
I would say most people would prefer made in the USA Texas Deadlift bars over Rogue. They are $40 off right now. But I am sure he is saying this based on there is not Texas power bar affiliate program. Also Kabuki makes a Made in the USA DL bar and it on sale right now 15% off
Idk man when I used a Texas deadlift bar it felt almost the same as the Ohio deadlift bar. I think the difference between the two wasn’t as big as everyone told me it was gonna be.
Would love to see a video of a deadlift bar ladder for review. Slap 225 on each bar, invite some buddies and run through the ladder a few times and contrast/compare opinions. See which one comes out on top
Double that to actually begin to feel the bar whip. 100kg isn't anywhere near enough weight to get a deadlift bar dancing.
I'd like to see a review of the helios and if you like it as much as i do
Man, this sounds very appealing to me.
Maybe review/versus on the Rep Alpine Bar and Teton bar?
I’ve seen some other people mention it, but I’d like to see a deadlift bar comparison between Rogue Ohio, Rep, Texas, Kabuki, and any others out there. I have a hard time quantifying whip and it’d be cool if you found some way to test whip for each. From everything I’ve heard the kabuki bar had an insane amount of whip, but is really hard to get right now. I’d like to see a whip comparison between the Rep Hades and the Texas Deadlift bar.
Can you review the Griffin Odin bar?
I can't say enough good things about Rep. They are killing it with all the new releases. I own a ton of their stuff and it's really top quality. The only 2 issues I ever had with minor defects they sent me new one right away no questions asked. Their customer service is amazing and bang for buck they can't be beat. I can't even remember the last time I ordered something from Rogue
Could you review the Griffin lever arms?
Please make videos on comparing different deadlift bars against each other! It’s the only lift I care about😂.
When will you be reviewing Griffin's new benches?
What do you think of the strongarm sports deadlift bar as a value option? I just got mine a month ago and I am a fan. Weighs bang on. Is nice and long. The knurling could be used as a lemon zester, its no kabuki but she whips, and I paid $300 canadian for it on black Friday. What is that in freedom bux like $220-230?
Coop how do you get the bar to not roll down your garage slope?
Question- why are Deadlift bars not offered in Stainless Steel? Just curious as someone who likes the feel and the higher rust resistance.
Debating between adding another barbell vs specilty bar thoughts?
I want to see a review of the kabuki deadlift bar
should do best deadlift bar in canada, id love to see synergee rhino done
Can you check out the Kensui specialty bars?
Would have liked some kind of whip test. Most powerlifters I've talked to prefer the tpb over the rogue because they are whippier. Would like to know how the rep compares.
The rogue is short AF and the knurling is really light.
That last one is a little odd on which it's meant for hamstrings first and quads.
Bought this during REP's 10% off Black Friday deal. Relived to hear Coop say I did good lol. 🎉🎉🎉
Can you bench with this as well. Serious question I’m a noob?
If your deadlift is under 600, just pick a bar based on knurling, price, where its made, etc. Flex and whip dont matter otherwise.
yes do a round up of bars.
What the hell, how do you deadlift at 2:58 ? How is this exercises it called? Reversed Guccibows? 😅
Coop how about the Cerberus Kratos Strongman Bar. It's only 10" long.
How does Coop not have a deadlift jack? 😶🤨
Need a link for the bulldog hat tho
Higher TPI feels more grippy and not as sharp even in a mountain knurl.
can you do a video comparing the whip of this deadlift bar to the others?
You have to pull a bit over 500 to see the actual whip of a bar. No disrespect to Coop but this would have been a request for BasementBrandon
@@MelloHubb treu, but he doesnt really need to pull, if you just load 700 and use deadlift jack or something and measure the difference.
Or atleast talk about the distance the plates are loaded and compare as that drastically affects the whip.
@@MelloHubbCoop may not be as strong as Basement Brandon, but isn’t he reasonably strong? He said he has deadlifted over 500
What about strong arms sports?
Waiting for an Adonis and Arcadia review
Waiting on deadlift bars to have no knurling past the ipf mark... why do we need those???
As a Canadian, made in America just represents higher price.
Crandall fitness has a deadlift bar that looks pretty comparable to
You didn't test the whip? That's the most important part.
I just bought a Kabuki deadlift bar…. So unfortunately I will never try the Rep bar
As I'm a bodybuilder lifter I wasn't aware of all these specialist, till I found this channel,
If you're a powerlifter this must heaven for people
Me I'm getting educated
Me too. Don't think any of this is really necessary. Ppl should focus more on training than on knurling. I use the same bar for 20 years now, a random noname one, rusty from sweat and with chrome falling of. You can't buy patina, you have to work for it.
So these high whip thin dead lift bars take the part of the lift you want the hardest, and make it easier, why? There seems to be growing evidence in the literature to get the most benefit from the movement in terms of muscle hypertrophy and strength, which is probably what the vast majority of people who train this movement want, you want as stiff a bar as possible. Why? To make sure that the muscles you are using are in the most stretched position possible while under the full load.
In other words, it seems the opposite to want to make the part of the lift that will give you the most benefit, the easiest part of the lift.
Now if you are on the platform, and pride or money are on the line, sure, add that whip. However for a home gym owner a nice Rogue Ohio Power Bar or equivalent is the better choice. Of course you can only make so many videos on standard 29mm barbells I suppose!
This videos as always are great though!!
Texas deadlift bars are the best hands down.
75 bars later. Make a power tower REP!
Spend the $6 and get the American made bar. Have some pride people
This is what you get if a 20kg(men) and 15kg(women) olympic bar had a baby?
Me
I belive in IPF (Internasional Powerlifting Federasion) the deadliftbar is the same bar as in squats and bench. They dont change bar for deadlift. And i belive the only bar that is allowed is 29 mm.
Last time I looked it was only a 29mm barbell.
This just seems like a rogue deadlift bar. The rogue deadlift bar is the worst deadlift bar out of the popular brands. Its never used in competitions. Its only between the texas deadlift and kabuki. This will just be something to add to their lineup.
I would agree but when I bought a DL bar I went with the Rogue because it was a Cerakote bar for $225. The Boneyard is a great thing.
Rep isn’t the best value deadlift bar out there, Crandall Fitness also has a cerakote deadlift barbell for $325 with free shipping.
I wish rep would have an American made line
Still have to go with Rogue. Couple of bucks more but it's American made. Chinese imports should be priced extremely lower. And I don't believe there's a whole lot of "design" coming from Rep on these bars.
There's an entire video going over how they designed them on the product's page.
Why don't you review smaller companies? So much REP content and nothing on companies like Griffin, BoS, etc.
Who in the hell uses a rogoue deadlift bar. Serious question?? It ain’t powerlifters.
Consistency is key when it comes to training. Take Coop for example. Consistently losing hair and consistently not gaining even a pound of muscle. #nogains
"Death metal look", shows the Gene Simmons appearance. Kiss isn't even metal! :>
Facts right there. Sadly people think Kiss is actually heavy music.
I have yet to go to a death metal concert that has face paint. Coop should listen to some metal before making throw away comments... bit of nuance to the genres.
Talk about overkill. A deadlift specific bar for a home gym... really?
reps made in china bars rust, even if it's stainless, low quality stainless
Must suck to have a 500 lb deadlift but look like you have a 200 lb one
This toothpick testing deadlift bars is about as valid as testing a bunch of high-end sports cars with the driver never going over 30mph😂
Sorry coop but those are not deadlifts, those are snap your shit lifts.
Coop demonstrating a DL bar by pulling 225🫣😳.
