In case anyone is wondering why Charlie is taking so much damage, he has two Talismans equipped that boost his stats in exchange for lower damage negation.
The thing I love most about the Placidusax fight is when he stabs his giant spear into the ground, and the music just stops..... in anticipation of the explosion. It's so badass.
What's even better is that it's not just any spear, but it resembles the Bolt of Gransax And on top of that, there's this loud ringing sound after the explosion And it's so fucking dope
The fact that this boss and Malenia are hidden so deep into the game and are completely optional is kind of amazing. Most devs would kill for either one of these as main story boss content but FS makes you jump through hoops to happen upon them and that’s about as rad as it gets.
It's kinda stupid imo lol most people that are not constantly watching elden ring videos on YT wouldn't even know these bosses existed and there's no dialogue or clear questline to get there without excessively going out of your way and searching for location guides and stuff
@@ssk58607 maybe for placidussax but Malenia, Lichdragon, and Mohgwyn can all be found organically by the average player and Placidussax has about 30 messages telling you where to go if you play online.
@@ssk58607 reaching malenia does actually have a clear questline, one of the most clear in the game. a pretty hard to miss NPC gives you half of the haligtree medallion, the other half is directly guided towards by Gideon for most of the game, there's a clear path for the entire game as to where you need to go to get to the haligtree. it's just difficult. malenia is a stupid hard boss, but it's a cool fight
Yeah, that build is asking for trouble. It's fine if that's the exact intention, but I have no idea how anyone thinks it's a good idea otherwise. Like if you don't use all that FP constantly, respec for more vigor and get rid of the talismans meant for early game.

@@bycon5475 Make sure you aren't using the talismans that increase your damage taken. Likewise, you should use talismans that increase resistances. The physical resist talisman is really important. Also armor, with all of those I get 47% physical damage resistance.
@@letwat8377 Nah, Midir was Pure Cancer. Too tanky, damage procs only on head which is kinda difficult to hit. Placidusaax on the other hand isn't as tanky as Midir, has cooler attacks and two laser-beams.
Placidusax has 2 missing heads, so you aren't fighting him at full power. According to an item description, it's probably because of Godfrey. And you kill both.

Maliketh is essentially the Grim Reaper of the entire universe at full power wielding Death manifested physically as a blade. Godfrey was the first Elden Lord at full power. It makes those rare meetings way more satisfying, because you've got more to fear.
@tired soul I don't think Gods go hollow. Plus, he's clearly still with it judging by how he treats his dragon. "A hollow need not be mad. No one so weak shall ever rule us." Yuria said this, and it clearly implies that hollows only go weak (of body or mind) when they go mad, which doesn't need to happen. Just because he looks a little malnourished doesn't mean he's hollow.
Dragons got so much cool shit in elden ring, I like the distinction between ancient dragon and normal dragon, I based my first two characters off dragon cult and dragon communion respectively. Dragon cult is really good for PvP, Dragon communion less so for PvP but absolutely DESTROYS at PvE, scarlet rot is broken. Also Godskin duo is fucking bullshit and pretty much requires spirit ash summons.
I was pretty fed up with godskin duo since I’m a melee only build so I caved in and got a co op teammate who pretty much one shot them with Azur comet I think he might of been hacking but a wins a win
@@CrimsonKing11 The way I see it, if it is in the game, it is intended. Don't let elitist who play only melee and shield tell you otherwise. Magic and summons got put in the game by developers who know what they are doing, and the only important thing is to have fun.
I did Godskin without mimic tear/spirit ash, mainly because I didn't even pay much attention to the spirit bell and I didn't even go to Nokron until after I'd killed them. So from that point on I think I earnt myself a free pass to use my mimic tear, since I went through a LOT of bosses without it
Fun Fact: Scarlet Rot goes away when a boss goes into a new phase OR it can recover before dying. Don't expect it to always be the end all be all... especially if the boss is immune which is sometimes the case...
Just breath again if it isn't immune. No wonder Malenia didn't lost to Radahn. That big guy might be a living physics breaking gravity warrior but he will die from caelid common cold like every other poor soldier.
@@GRIMHOOD99 To be fair, if Finlay hadn't stabbed Radahn from behind, and if the Scarlet Rose hadn't revived Malenia when she impaled herself to bleed into Radahn's wound (caused by Finlay), Malenia definitely would've lost that. If you had to get dragged away unconscious from the fight by your own knightess after getting your sword arm shattered and literally dying and being revived by bullshit flower magic that you got for free at birth, you definitely lost. I don't care if the game said ''there was no victor'' just because Malenia is still alive, that's a big fat fucking L in my book, lmao! 2v1 And she still had to get rescued. A retreat is a loss. Calls herself undefeated, but is only alive because Finlay was hard carrying her, literally. What a twat. But you get a like for the ''caelid common cold'' because that gave me a chuckle.

I legit think this is my favorite fight in the entire game. It feels genuinely fair he gives you plenty of time to react to his attacks while still being plenty erratic and speedy. I really love the teleport moves too they just look so badass.
After fighting both godskins separately before I found the duo I realized they really like to use that fire attack everytime I try to heal so I always had behind something before healing cause I swear they were programmed on purpose to use that attack when ever the player heals
Tons of enemies do it in this game. Loretta spams magic for instance pretty much whenever you heal. You pretty much have to make sure you're 20m away from any boss before you even consider healing.
I know everyone plays the way they want but watching him play the entire game with so little health drives me nuts. It's a no brainer to get vigor to at least 40 with the way it scales
That’s what I’m saying. I’ve seen so many CZcamsrs playing low vigor and wondering why some of these bosses are so hard because they keep 1-2 shotting him
True I even had to respec my sorcerer to have more health. The idea was.. well I’m a ranged fighter so just don’t get hit. Easier said than done in this game haha.

Placidusax was one of my favorite fights, I was having legitimate fun even when getting clapped. Exhilarating stuff, none of it unfair. The lasers were wild
The lasers are a tad bit unfair considering that there's very little to distinguish whether the laser can hit you or not, especially from far away. Lets not forget that the lasers also have deceptively large hitboxes that can very often hit you even if the laser went through the ground and not you. The other parts of the fight are arguably fair enough (though the teleportation is just annoying) but the lasers hitboxes ruin that part of the fight for me
Same I went blind for mostly all of my progress and I beat it 2 days ago.. I missed quite a few bosses and quests. So now I made a new build and I’m doing everything I missed.
Imo this I the best dragon fight From software has ever made. It might not be the hardest but it feels the most epic and most rewarding. I love the opening cinematic to the fight and the fear you feel as you get closer to him before he comes out of the air. It's such a badass fight
I find it way too easy to be the best one. Midir was way harder and I thought much more fun. Dragonlord you can kinda just sit in front of him and spam heavy attacks, roll whenever his very obvious tells comes and you kinda win. That and he struggles to kill you unless you run a low vigor build. The only challenge comes from his absolutely bloated health bar. That being said, very atmospheric, fantastic design for a boss, and banger music. Shame the fight isn't as great.

@@raikkel9516 yea, midir never really seemed that hard for me either though. Struggled way more with Gael. Regardless, I think the dargon lord fight is a better spectacle and feels more kinetic due to the teleporting. It’s been a while, but I remember a lot of chasing midir after a couple of his attacks. Not to say I don’t like midir, I think it’s great.
On my first try I got him down to half health and he just disappeared. Out of nowhere he comes swooping back in and one shots me. The music and atmosphere of that moment just made my jaw drop. I wasn't even mad I died, I was just in awe of this boss. Absolutely my favorite boss in the whole game.
imo that's not even his best move. we didn't get to see it in the video, but my favourite move is the stab the ground attack that just silences the game building up to the absolute nuke of an explosion.
They turned weapon arts up to 11 in this game, and I'm so happy about it. By the endgame, with the generous weigh capacity, you can genuinely be a boss-level threat. 4 distinct weapon arts alone are just terrifying to deal with, used properly.
if you hold down on the directional pad, it’ll always bring you back to your first equipped item. i have my crimson tears in my first slot so it’ll always be there when i hold down. great shit bro
The boss wasn't even that hard legit only took 2 tries with a slow af str build with no ashes lmao I dunno why everyone acts like it's super hard or something it's not a good boss but it's also not a hard one lmao it's a miniboss in my opinion

Placidus in Latin can mean calm, tranquil, rest. When you encounter him, you can tell he's damaged and recovering. This boss was tough and he wasn't even at his full potential! Would've awesome to see a first fight at full health or something
Hmm would be cool if there was a way to trigger a hard mode where he is fully regenerated. Like some secret item to use inside the arena to go forward into the future for him to be at his prime again. A cutscene where you see the healing process, he gets his heads and wings back and then emerges from his slumber and becomes hostile immediately
If From does a dlc that allows us to experience these bosses in their prime I'd love it. Finally being able to experience the Godlike nature of any of these beasts would be amazing.
With the duo they just keep respawning until the health bar hits 0, but you can keep hitting their corpses while in the death animation for a lot of free damage
I remember when i fought the dragon lord i got lucky and his ai bugged out around 30% health. He stopped attacking and just stood there… menacingly. That menace was lost when i kept throwing rocks at him till he fell over.
I did the Fringefolk Hero's Grave as soon as I found the first two Stonesword Keys, and got extremely lucky on my first go because at around 40% health, the Ulcerated Tree Spirit which badly outleveled me at the time (I had a +0 Lordsworn straight sword and was like level 20 tops) bugged out that exact same way giving me a free kill. And since I fucking despise those bosses, I couldn't be happier. Fortunately, it hasn't happened to me with any other boss as most bosses are super solid in this game.
True story. I only found the DragonLord boss after being knocked off that ledge onto the platform that leads down in there. Now I have one of the rarest achievements :D

Absolutely amazing fight, one of the best dragons, for me its on par with Kalameet, and Kalameet is only up there for me due to how cool the cinematic of Gough shooting it down whilst blinded was
I love how a dragon god is weaker and does less damage with a Godzilla beam, than melania is and does with a poke. Still, amazing dragon fight. Was really fun compared to the other dragons, really cinematic as well.
The maliketh fight is really good, but the one move where he can hit you when you're behind him kind of makes phase 1 bullshit and just have to spam weapon art to stagger and speed run ph1

It's insane how much Bernahl helps on Godskin Duo, I summoned him on my first attempt to see how Bernahl would fight (and because I don't respect duo fights), and he held aggro the ENTIRE time while I blasted them with my Moonlight Greatsword. He was also tanky enough that he died when the boss only had like 10% of its health left, so I beat Godskin Duo on my first try.
@@gun_exe8387 just cast it at the start and then fight.i wouldn't stand there trying to spam it, the effect doesn't stack. Just recast once the hp tick stops, then go melee again.
Elden Ring, Bloodborne and DS3 especially, yeah. Sekiro does too really. Way better than Ubisoft's trash. Ubisoft hasn't made a good game since Black Flag and Inquisition.
Sword of night and flame really isn't all that OP. Sure it is strong but there are so many bosses in the later game that you can't even get the art off and even if you do it doesn't do an insane amount of damage like earlier bosses in the game.
If you had summons you can cast it repeatedly any boss fights die in just a couple of hits along with the explosion on trigger. Obviously Bloodhound is better if it's solo, Night and Flame is good with co-op and melts bosses.
Placidusax has two moves (the golden laser breath and the red lightning nuke thing) that are each individually cooler than some game’s entire roster of bossfights

This is what you get when the developers and not the greedy publishers/shareholders take full control their game, 117hrs in and still only done 3 main story bosses. The amount of content in this game is just overwhelming and I absolutely love it.
Charlie doesn't realize it but he's playing on total hardmode having his health THAT low. like by that point in the game he should have double that health bar 😂
Mixed opinions on Placidusax, he’s visually stunning but I feel he’s so tedious to fight, ESPECIALLY when he starts to teleport and has lower openings from a HP pool like this guy
Dragon fights are underwhelming for me in Elden Ring for the fact that I've put hours upon hours into MHWorld already. Every other boss in the game is amazing though and I love the AI
True. Was so hyped after getting to face the first dragon early on in the game, until I realized every dragon fight is more or less the same just with altered effects.
I have 1000 hours in MHWorld, another 1000 in Freedom Unite, and still think FromSoft's dragons are fucking awesome: Kalameet, Midir, and the 2 hidden dragon boss fights in this game are all just wonderful
Such a cool boss, went and fought him right after Malekith and before finishing the game, bosses back to back to back to back, that was rough to say the least. But I'm not sure why Charlie didn't summon spirits for the Godskin Duo fight, he seems fine with using "cheesy" strats but summoning spirits is not his cup of tea or what? Especially for fights like Godskin Duo it seems almost necessary.
He thinks using summons “is playing like a bitch.” Personally, I see nothing wrong with using weapon arts, ashes, summons, etc. Sure it makes the game easier but taking the “play smarter not harder” approach is fine. It’s built into the game and part of the game mechanics, so it’s not like it’s cheating. Whatever makes the game the most fun for the individual.

If I spend time leveling up my ashes by facing other bosses to do so, then yeah imma use em if my first several runs on a boss end in failure. Not to mention ashes really aren’t applicable for a play style until mid to late game because early ashes pretty much get fucked in the first 20 seconds of any more difficult boss. I genuinely didn’t max out mimic tear until I fought Mohg, which was the first boss I fought after the Elden Beast.

Dragons got so much cool shit in elden ring, I like the distinction between ancient dragon and normal dragon, I based my first two characters off dragon cult and dragon communion respectively.
Dragon cult is really good for PvP, Dragon communion less so for PvP but absolutely DESTROYS at PvE, scarlet rot is broken.
Also Godskin duo is fucking bullshit and pretty much requires spirit ash summons.
I do black flame, dragon incants, and bleed, and scarlet rot is still the only thing that just melts everything
I was pretty fed up with godskin duo since I’m a melee only build so I caved in and got a co op teammate who pretty much one shot them with Azur comet I think he might of been hacking but a wins a win
Godskin Duo is the only boss so awful that using the broken Hoarfrost Stomp weapon art feels like the intended strategy.
@@CrimsonKing11 The way I see it, if it is in the game, it is intended. Don't let elitist who play only melee and shield tell you otherwise. Magic and summons got put in the game by developers who know what they are doing, and the only important thing is to have fun.
I did Godskin without mimic tear/spirit ash, mainly because I didn't even pay much attention to the spirit bell and I didn't even go to Nokron until after I'd killed them. So from that point on I think I earnt myself a free pass to use my mimic tear, since I went through a LOT of bosses without it
Fun Fact: Scarlet Rot goes away when a boss goes into a new phase OR it can recover before dying. Don't expect it to always be the end all be all... especially if the boss is immune which is sometimes the case...
Just breath again if it isn't immune. No wonder Malenia didn't lost to Radahn. That big guy might be a living physics breaking gravity warrior but he will die from caelid common cold like every other poor soldier.
Always feel my heart drop a bit when the rot fails, especially when I'm struggling with a boss.
@@GRIMHOOD99 To be fair, if Finlay hadn't stabbed Radahn from behind, and if the Scarlet Rose hadn't revived Malenia when she impaled herself to bleed into Radahn's wound (caused by Finlay), Malenia definitely would've lost that. If you had to get dragged away unconscious from the fight by your own knightess after getting your sword arm shattered and literally dying and being revived by bullshit flower magic that you got for free at birth, you definitely lost. I don't care if the game said ''there was no victor'' just because Malenia is still alive, that's a big fat fucking L in my book, lmao! 2v1 And she still had to get rescued. A retreat is a loss.
Calls herself undefeated, but is only alive because Finlay was hard carrying her, literally. What a twat.
But you get a like for the ''caelid common cold'' because that gave me a chuckle.

I legit think this is my favorite fight in the entire game. It feels genuinely fair he gives you plenty of time to react to his attacks while still being plenty erratic and speedy. I really love the teleport moves too they just look so badass.
Honestly my favourite is elemer of the briar
After fighting both godskins separately before I found the duo I realized they really like to use that fire attack everytime I try to heal so I always had behind something before healing cause I swear they were programmed on purpose to use that attack when ever the player heals
lots of enemies are scripted to use certain attacks when you try to heal
Tons of enemies do it in this game. Loretta spams magic for instance pretty much whenever you heal. You pretty much have to make sure you're 20m away from any boss before you even consider healing.
Fun fact the godskin duo's fireball throw is wired to your healing flask, almost always when you heal they use it

No kitty, the ai uses it when you heal OR when you are backing away/ are far away, but they will choose to fireball if you heal, it’s been proven

Exactly I just saw boss fight data base fight the dragon lord and he could actually tank so many hits without dying.
True I even had to respec my sorcerer to have more health. The idea was.. well I’m a ranged fighter so just don’t get hit. Easier said than done in this game haha.

Placidusax was one of my favorite fights, I was having legitimate fun even when getting clapped. Exhilarating stuff, none of it unfair. The lasers were wild
The lasers are a tad bit unfair considering that there's very little to distinguish whether the laser can hit you or not, especially from far away. Lets not forget that the lasers also have deceptively large hitboxes that can very often hit you even if the laser went through the ground and not you. The other parts of the fight are arguably fair enough (though the teleportation is just annoying) but the lasers hitboxes ruin that part of the fight for me
bruh what about his giant lightning spear that he punches into the ground making the surroundings explode. The SFX on that move are INSANE

Imo this I the best dragon fight From software has ever made. It might not be the hardest but it feels the most epic and most rewarding. I love the opening cinematic to the fight and the fear you feel as you get closer to him before he comes out of the air. It's such a badass fight
I find it way too easy to be the best one. Midir was way harder and I thought much more fun. Dragonlord you can kinda just sit in front of him and spam heavy attacks, roll whenever his very obvious tells comes and you kinda win. That and he struggles to kill you unless you run a low vigor build. The only challenge comes from his absolutely bloated health bar. That being said, very atmospheric, fantastic design for a boss, and banger music. Shame the fight isn't as great.

Regardless, I think the dargon lord fight is a better spectacle and feels more kinetic due to the teleporting. It’s been a while, but I remember a lot of chasing midir after a couple of his attacks.
Not to say I don’t like midir, I think it’s great.
This game looks like something taken from a movie and Charlie is the boss slayer. He's setting a record that will be broken by himself.

I wish I had the self control Charlie has. He doesn't seem to ever truly rage, what a man.
On my first try I got him down to half health and he just disappeared. Out of nowhere he comes swooping back in and one shots me. The music and atmosphere of that moment just made my jaw drop. I wasn't even mad I died, I was just in awe of this boss. Absolutely my favorite boss in the whole game.
11:38 this might be the most awe-inspiring boss abilities I’ve ever seen in a game. Insane
imo that's not even his best move. we didn't get to see it in the video, but my favourite move is the stab the ground attack that just silences the game building up to the absolute nuke of an explosion.

They turned weapon arts up to 11 in this game, and I'm so happy about it. By the endgame, with the generous weigh capacity, you can genuinely be a boss-level threat. 4 distinct weapon arts alone are just terrifying to deal with, used properly.

if you hold down on the directional pad, it’ll always bring you back to your first equipped item. i have my crimson tears in my first slot so it’ll always be there when i hold down. great shit bro

I love how Charlie rolls with one earbud in. So simple but yet so complex.
Placidus in Latin can mean calm, tranquil, rest. When you encounter him, you can tell he's damaged and recovering. This boss was tough and he wasn't even at his full potential! Would've awesome to see a first fight at full health or something
Hmm would be cool if there was a way to trigger a hard mode where he is fully regenerated. Like some secret item to use inside the arena to go forward into the future for him to be at his prime again. A cutscene where you see the healing process, he gets his heads and wings back and then emerges from his slumber and becomes hostile immediately
If From does a dlc that allows us to experience these bosses in their prime I'd love it. Finally being able to experience the Godlike nature of any of these beasts would be amazing.

I remember when i fought the dragon lord i got lucky and his ai bugged out around 30% health. He stopped attacking and just stood there… menacingly. That menace was lost when i kept throwing rocks at him till he fell over.
you can stagger him thats how i finally beat him too. I never had to deal with p2 mechanics i held him locked down
@@Hakuonu i did not stagger him though. I went a good 20 secs without attacking, just waiting to see if he would do anything. He didn’t.

I did the Fringefolk Hero's Grave as soon as I found the first two Stonesword Keys, and got extremely lucky on my first go because at around 40% health, the Ulcerated Tree Spirit which badly outleveled me at the time (I had a +0 Lordsworn straight sword and was like level 20 tops) bugged out that exact same way giving me a free kill.
And since I fucking despise those bosses, I couldn't be happier. Fortunately, it hasn't happened to me with any other boss as most bosses are super solid in this game.

I spent hours last night trying to kill this DragonLord, and this morning I did it on my second try, this game is nutty
Absolutely amazing fight, one of the best dragons, for me its on par with Kalameet, and Kalameet is only up there for me due to how cool the cinematic of Gough shooting it down whilst blinded was
The spear you can get from the finger reader now using that remembrance is so fucking cool.
I love how a dragon god is weaker and does less damage with a Godzilla beam, than melania is and does with a poke.
Still, amazing dragon fight. Was really fun compared to the other dragons, really cinematic as well.
Charlie somehow didn’t get hit with the full force of it cuz I got one shot and I have much more health than he does

The maliketh fight is really good, but the one move where he can hit you when you're behind him kind of makes phase 1 bullshit and just have to spam weapon art to stagger and speed run ph1

Gave me the incredible cinematic feel of Sekiro's Divine Dragon with the great mechanics of dragons like Kalameete and Midir.
The Dragonlord was a fun fight. First time I beat it was with Int build. Next is with a full Strength build Colossal weapon run.

It's insane how much Bernahl helps on Godskin Duo, I summoned him on my first attempt to see how Bernahl would fight (and because I don't respect duo fights), and he held aggro the ENTIRE time while I blasted them with my Moonlight Greatsword.
He was also tanky enough that he died when the boss only had like 10% of its health left, so I beat Godskin Duo on my first try.

Scarlett rot breath has carried me to Radagon. It's pretty good, just hold the button longer and it usually poisons them first time.

Elden ring and Fromsoftware games in general have some of most well written and intriguing questlines in all of gaming lmao.
Elden Ring, Bloodborne and DS3 especially, yeah. Sekiro does too really. Way better than Ubisoft's trash. Ubisoft hasn't made a good game since Black Flag and Inquisition.
Sword of night and flame really isn't all that OP. Sure it is strong but there are so many bosses in the later game that you can't even get the art off and even if you do it doesn't do an insane amount of damage like earlier bosses in the game.
yea fr. the stats requirements and the time it takes to use the arts balances it out majorly, and later game the damage isnt even that much.
If you had summons you can cast it repeatedly any boss fights die in just a couple of hits along with the explosion on trigger. Obviously Bloodhound is better if it's solo, Night and Flame is good with co-op and melts bosses.

Placidusax has two moves (the golden laser breath and the red lightning nuke thing) that are each individually cooler than some game’s entire roster of bossfights

This is what you get when the developers and not the greedy publishers/shareholders take full control their game, 117hrs in and still only done 3 main story bosses. The amount of content in this game is just overwhelming and I absolutely love it.

Dragon fights are underwhelming for me in Elden Ring for the fact that I've put hours upon hours into MHWorld already. Every other boss in the game is amazing though and I love the AI
True. Was so hyped after getting to face the first dragon early on in the game, until I realized every dragon fight is more or less the same just with altered effects.
I have 1000 hours in MHWorld, another 1000 in Freedom Unite, and still think FromSoft's dragons are fucking awesome: Kalameet, Midir, and the 2 hidden dragon boss fights in this game are all just wonderful

Such a cool boss, went and fought him right after Malekith and before finishing the game, bosses back to back to back to back, that was rough to say the least. But I'm not sure why Charlie didn't summon spirits for the Godskin Duo fight, he seems fine with using "cheesy" strats but summoning spirits is not his cup of tea or what? Especially for fights like Godskin Duo it seems almost necessary.
He thinks using summons “is playing like a bitch.” Personally, I see nothing wrong with using weapon arts, ashes, summons, etc. Sure it makes the game easier but taking the “play smarter not harder” approach is fine. It’s built into the game and part of the game mechanics, so it’s not like it’s cheating. Whatever makes the game the most fun for the individual.

If I spend time leveling up my ashes by facing other bosses to do so, then yeah imma use em if my first several runs on a boss end in failure. Not to mention ashes really aren’t applicable for a play style until mid to late game because early ashes pretty much get fucked in the first 20 seconds of any more difficult boss. I genuinely didn’t max out mimic tear until I fought Mohg, which was the first boss I fought after the Elden Beast.
