I have the 2017 Denali with 6.2 and I've always been a Flowmaster guy....but. I had an 18" Magnaflow put on with dual exits, had the stupid flappers and resonators taken off and it's freaking awesome. Nice deep rumble on cold start, sounds great running through the gears and no drone on the highway! Everyone has a preference and this is my new one.
Magnaflow is a much superior product

@@TimFletcher-jn4or i actually did get it and i like it. The truck is too quiet without anything. Before i got it i was driving through a parking lot and some guy wasn't paying attention and walked right into my truck but now it's not obnoxious but definitely noticeable
John, thank you for replying! I wonder if my 6.2l Yukon would sound the same? I have a single exhaust tube but I also do not want it too loud and obnoxious. I really like the sound of the second truck in this video. Maybe I will go to a local exhaust shop and show the video and explain what I am trying to achieve.

Flowmaster was kool back in the day. BORLA the best in the market .
I put the super 10 Flowmaster on my 2020 6.2 10 speed. The sound at start up is great but the intererior drone is way more than I expected. I left the resonators and removed both flappers. Flowmaster recommends a multi chamber 50 series muffler to get rid of the drone but I was worried that would be too quiet.

@@kyleerickson3382 no drone. It’s not super loud or obnoxious. When you get on it it actually sounds good! But that’s just my opinion some just like loud.

so cruising on interstate 75 - 85 mph u can't hear the exhaust I had the borla s-type and u could hear it bugged the shit out of me

The last truck almost had it. Gotta get rid of the resonators. Don't waste money putting on an aftermarket muffler if you're going to leave them on. If you want to leave the resonators on, you might as well go without a muffer and save yourself $100.
Not everyone wants it super loud though.
Would be nice if someone would make a good valved exhaust for the trucks.

@exhaustaddicts - I have a 20 Yukon Denali 6.2l. I’m looking at the Flowmaster 50 Series BB or the 70 Series BB. I really like the sound of the second truck, just a nice deep rich tone and not loud. Will I get that similar sound with either of the two I’m looking towards? Thank you for you inputs!

Why in the world would the guy with the silver Silverado go with headers, high-flow cats, and then bottleneck the exhaust with a Y-pipe into a single tailpipe? That defeats the purpose!

Mine is that way and it's a hell of a sound.
A single 3” pipe can handle a ton of flow. Like 700hp. There’s no bottleneck in that truck

Ive always thought the exhaust systems of cars were Cats -> resonators -> mufflers -> outside
Resonators are for drone and mufflers would be for loudness.
My 2016 Altima 3.5SR its a catback straight back and highway sucks. I shouldve kept my resonators for drone

My 6.2 has 3 1/2” pipes I put a super 10 on it and it’s not what I expected I want it louder
3.5” dual exhaust is too big ... should have made the back half 2.5 “ and the front half 3” ... that’s where the snappiness comes from

The flaps is there to restrict the flow I believe u delete it to make the flow faster i maybe wrong tbh I’ll do my research

Which muffler for best deep tone and loud? Currently have a black widow venom 250 in my 2019 5.3L Silverado with flap cut out and resonator holes covered. Thinking about what to put in my 2020 6.2L. I like the tone of the venom 250, just wish it was a hair louder. You ever use this muffler?

Black Widows widowmakers would give you the deep sound you're looking for. Had them on my '17 GMC with the 6.2l (true duels)
do a video in cab on the highway at 70+ when the trucks are in 4 cylinder mode to see how bad the drone is

They do. I own a 16 LTZ with the 6.2 and 8 speed, it sounds like a helicopter with my true dual magnapaks until, I tuned it and got rid of the fuel management.
What about corsa exhaust? That's a hell of a sound....

I watched a couple of your videos and the content is great but the sound quality is being liked with all the highway noises. Not talking shit just a suggestion for better content. Id really like to be able to hear the exhaust clearly but I can't over the highway behind you
What was the decibel reading on the flowfx?
When you get longtube headers installed does that cause the engine light to light up ?
You have to use green cat built in the hole system cost. 2000.00 but you gain hp you can calm it down with x pipes and resignaters and quads 4 tips sound and performance 😮

I have a15 GMC seirra 2500 6.0 what do recommend for it.. not to loud but with a deep growl.

Carven TR and Borla XR-1, real deep with good tone.
Don't just consider sound, consider exhaust flow too. Chambered and baffled mufflers don't flow as well as straight-through mufflers. Dual exhaust flows better than single exhaust. Removing restrictions improves exhaust flow.
Did you ever pick an exhaust yet? I have a 16 and was wondering what to get as well.
The Borla Atak's probably wouldn't have that good raspy sound if not for the headers and cats.
It does it has a cammed sound to it I have a 6.2 at4 and it sounds great with the atak cat back

@@dylanpixley2767 whole system, right now it’s just the exhaust system on a 2021 at4. It has a deep throaty sound like the video and if you do anything to it delete resonators but keep everything else so it keeps it’s good sound

@@dylanpixley2767 I ordered it at the dealer so they put it on when the truck had 10 miles. If your anywhere from north Ohio or lower Michigan or Indiana area diversified truck and auto is the best, my Chevy Colorado has all its work done there. But if not I can’t really help ya out except suggest a truck and auto upgrade shop.

Say, I don’t think that LTZ is a 6.2 them trucks come with the 5.3. You can tell from the take off compared to the Denali’s JS
#3 needs a cam to back up that exhaust. Sounds like junk without the cam chop.
The stock catback on the 2020 at4 sounded better though that’s not far off

How bad do these drone with the DFM?
The best exhaust hands down is leave the two converters that are at the header, and do a single straight pipe all the way back. Cost me $150 and sounds better than every exhaust out there.
A local muffler shop deleted my cats, installed a Holley Flowmonster straight-through muffler (two 3" inlets and two 3" outlets), and two turndowns for $284. True dual exhaust for the win. Great exhaust flow and great sound.
I would put my longtubes and x-pipe 3" mandrel bend duals against that any day...
For the price, it’s unmatched.
So, the 2nd one, he said was reading 95 to 100 decibels with the stock muffler, but 89 to 90 with an aftermarket muffler? Doesnt make sense.

Every single video that I have watched from this shop, they choke the exhaust on the 6.2 with 3" exhaust. They come from the factory with 3.5" exhaust. I'm guessing they don't have the equipment to bend 3.5" and just wing it. And we ain't gonna talk about how ugly their welds are.
